Resident Evil 3: What to Do After Beating the Main Campaign

Resident Evil 3 Remake may be a short game, but it offers tons of replayability value and a stand-alone online multiplayer game.

Several days ago, Capcom released the highly-anticipated remake of Resident Evil 3, which puts players in the role of STARS officer Jill Valentine and her desperate escape from Raccoon City. In the first ten minutes of the game alone, it is pretty obvious that Capcom has been more liberal in introducing changes and shuffling events in Resident Evil 3 remake, as compared to last year’s more faithful reimagining of Resident Evil 2.

Similar to the original Resident Evil 3, which was released in 1999, Resident Evil 3 remake features a short main campaign, at least by today’s modern standards. On average, players reported that they were able to complete Resident Evil 3 for about 5-6 hours on their first playthrough. Unlike its predecessors, Resident Evil 3 only has one scenario, but players will be able to control both Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveria in the game.

However, even though Resident Evil 3 has a short story, there are still many things that players can do after finishing the main campaign. Now, for those players who have successfully guided Jill Valentine’s escape from Raccoon City, here are some things that players can do in Resident Evil 3 after finishing the main campaign.

Resident Evil 3 Difficulties: Nightmare and Inferno

Resident Evil 3 remake features five different difficulty settings: Assisted, Standard, Hardcore, Nightmare, and Inferno. However, it is worth remembering that the Nightmare can only be unlocked after completing the game in Harcore, and Inferno can only be accessed after completing Nightmare. It is recommended that beginners start at Standard Mode in order for them to get a feel of the game first, learn how to dodge, and get a feel of what to expect with every Nemesis encounter. Of course, the Assisted mode is also an option, but this mode is too easy and defeats the purpose of playing a survival-horror game.

After completing the game on whichever mode, players can then challenge themselves by trying to play again but on a harder difficulty. Of course, completing Resident Evil 3 in Inferno would not only earn players with bragging rights but with a well-deserved trophy/achievement. It is also important to remember that after completing the game on a specific difficulty, players will be rewarded with a trophy for that difficulty and for any other modes that are below it. For example, after completing the main campaign in Hardcore mode, the game will also acknowledge the completion of Standard and Assisted. Players interested in trying a different difficulty can check out the list below containing all the descriptions of each setting.

  • Assisted – Aim Assist, Recover a certain amount of health automatically, Enemies are weaker, the player begins with an Assault Rifle rather than a handgun, More ammunition when crafting, four additional item slots, and difficulty can be changed.
  • Standard – the standard game mode, the difficulty can only be changed to Assisted after a certain amount of deaths.
  • Hardcore – Enemies are stronger, ammunition and items are a rare, less ammunition when crafting, two hits from a zombie result to death, and the difficulty cannot be changed.
  • Nightmare – Can only be unlocked after completing Hardcore, enemies are much stronger than Hardcore, enemy, and item placements are changed, and the difficulty cannot be changed.
  • Inferno – Can only be unlocked after completing Nightmare, enemies are much stronger than Nightmare, no autosave, the difficulty cannot be changed.

Aim For S-Rank

Another challenge that players can participate in after completing the main campaign is to earn the highest ranking available in Resident Evil 3, which is the S-Rank. Throughout each playthrough, the game records the playtime of the player and the number of saves made, which are the only requirements to earn a specific ranking. This means that players can spam all the first-aid sprays they can get their hands to. The requirement to get the S-Rank is different depending on the difficulty setting that the player selects at the start of the campaign. Of course, earning S-Rank on Inferno mode is the ultimate and highest rank the player can get, which will probably earn them the respect of Jill Valentine herself, and make Nemesis cower in fear. Below are the requirements to get S-Rank per difficulty mode.

  • Assisted – Game must be completed in under 2:30:00, with no more than five saves.
  • Standard – Game must be completed in under 2:00:00, with no more than five saves.
  • Hardcore – Game must be completed in under 1:45:00, with no more than five saves.
  • Nightmare – Game must be completed in under 2:00:00, with no more than five saves.
  • Inferno – Game must be completed in under 2:00:00 with no more than five saves.

It is worth pointing out that the time required in both Nightmare and Inferno are more relaxed than in Hardcore, but players must remember that enemies in these modes are much resilient and more difficult to kill.

Earn all Achievements

Another new feature that is included in Resident Evil 3 remake is the achievement system. In the main menu of Resident Evil 3, players will find a menu tab that displays all the available achievements available and those that were already completed by the player. To earn achievements, players must complete a specific condition in a playthrough, and completing one will reward players with points. For example, killing 200 enemies with a handgun would earn players 5200 points, which they can then use to purchase items in the in-game store.

Resident Evil 3’s store features several items such as weapons, infinite ammo, costumes, and many more. Some notable items that players can purchase in the store include:

  • Jill’s STARS Gear (The outfit Jill wore in the Mansion Incident): 2000P
  • Recovery Coin (Gradually regenerate health when held. Carry two to increase the effect) – 4000P
  • Iron Defense Coin (Greatly increases your defense when held. Carry two to increase the effect.) – 4000P
  • Infinite MUP Handgun – 8000P
  • Infinite Rocket Launcher 62400P

Play Resident Evil Resistance

Although Resident Evil 3 remake has a short main campaign, players should know that the game also includes the multiplayer game Resident Evil Resistance. It is worth pointing out that half of the game’s file size is comprised of Resident Evil Resistance, which players can access even before completing the primary campaign. Resistance is an online 4v1 multiplayer game that divides a group of 5 players into two factions comprising of 4 Survivors and 1 Mastermind. As the name suggests, the role of the Survivors is to survive the level that they’re in remain alive for a duration of time. On the other hand, the Mastermind’s main objective is to kill all Survivors by setting traps and releasing monsters, which includes the terrifying Mr. X.

Several days before the launch of Resident Evil 3, Capcom confirmed that Jill Valentine will be joining the roster of Survivors in Resident Evil Resistance on April 17. As of the moment, it is unknown whether other characters from Resident Evil 3 will join Jill, but Carlos will likely be included in the game sometime in the future.

Resident Evil 3 is available now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 3 Remake’s File Size Revealed

The file size of the much anticipated Resident Evil 3 remake has been revealed, as well as some surprising news about the campaign and Resistance.

Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise is hotter than ever now, with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the remakes for the first two Resident Evil games receiving tons of praise from fans and critics alike. Now fans are eagerly waiting for news on the Resident Evil 3 remake, which was confirmed just a month ago thanks to some leaked artwork.

There are quite a few things we already know about the Resident Evil 3 remake, and now it seems a new detail about the upcoming survival horror game has been revealed. The file size for Resident Evil 3 will be 43.01 GB and will contain both the main game and the Resistance multiplayer mode as separate downloads.

With the Resident Evil 3 remake just four months away from release, it’s reassuring to hear Capcom say that development on the game is nearly complete. Microsoft’s store page listing the full size of the game as 43.01 GB is just further proof of that. It’s strange that the campaign and the new multiplayer mode Resident Evil Resistance have been divided into separate downloads, though. Since both games are part of the same bundle, it doesn’t seem they can be bought separately.

The campaign’s file size is 21.93 GB, about the same size as the Resident Evil 2 remake when it launched. Resident Evil Resistance takes up about 20.47 GB of storage space. While the PC system requirements for the Resident Evil 3 remake have already been revealed, the file size on the PC and PS4 have not. It’s safe to assume, though, that Resident Evil 3‘s file size will be about the same on those platforms as well.

A limited edition version of the game called the Resident Evil 3 Remake Collector’s Edition is already available for pre-order at GameStop. The Collector’s Edition comes with a physical copy of the game, an artbook, an 11-inch Jill Valentine figure, a map of Raccoon City and the digital soundtrack, all packaged inside a S.T.A.R.S item box. The Collector’s Edition is available for USD $179.99 and unfortunately is not available for PC players. Fans who aren’t happy with the changes made to some characters in the Resident Evil 3 remake will want to pre-order to receive the exclusive Classic Costume Pack, which will feature the original design for Jill as well as Carlos Oliveira’s original hairstyle.

The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis launched back in 1999 for the first PlayStation and is set 24 hours before the events of Resident Evil 2, with the second half of the game taking place 2 days after that. This remake will follow the same winning formula that made the Resident Evil 2 remake a success, including use of the RE Engine and the ability to actually move the camera around. And given that the Resident Evil 3 remake is much more action-oriented than the original, it only makes sense that it will be bundled with a new online multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance. This multiplayer mode will be an asymmetrical co-op in which players must survive against a “mastermind.”

The Resident Evil 3 remake will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 3rd, 2020.

Resident Evil 3 Remake gets a 400MB new update that fixes various bugs

Capcom has released a brand new update for Resident Evil 3 Remake. This patch is around 400MB in size and fixes a number of bugs and gameplay issues. Unfortunately, though, Capcom has not revealed its full changelog as of yet.

From what we know so far, this patch places a hidden collectible figure of the worm from cemetery somewhere in the game, as a nod to the original game. Moreover, it features various and small bug fixes.

In case you’re wondering, yes; the game still uses the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Even though Capcom has removed Denuvo from Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake still uses it. My guess is that the Japanese company will remove it next year.

Now since we can’t share any release notes for this update, we can at least present you a number of mods that you can download. Currently, you can find Jill Valentine Nude Mod, a Metal Gear Solid Big Boss Mod and a NieR Automata 2B Mod. You can also download a Dino Crisis Mod, a classic Nemesis head Mod, and Jill Valentine Julia Voth Mod.

Furthermore, the Ultimate Trainer Mod allows you to change FOV, remove Vignette, and do some really cool changes to the game. And yes, there is already a mod that unlocks the 30fps animations of distant zombies.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Update 1.04 Is Out, Bug Fixes

A brand new patch released for Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake. Take note that this patch is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Their latest patch, Resident Evil 3 Remake Update 1.04, is quite a small patch, as there is only one confirmed patch note. The download and install size on PlayStation 4 is around 500 MB, but can differ depending on the platform you are using. Below you will find the complete list of all Resident Evil 3 Remake Update 1.04 patch notes.

In other news, one of the best things that RE2 Remake brought with it was the huge number of mods designed to replace Mr. X with other characters, which at prior might seem less threatening, but that curiously ended up becoming true nightmares within the setting of the game. Luckily or unfortunately the community has not limited itself to the previous installment of the zombie saga and continues to create mods for Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Nemesis, the quintessential villain of both RE3 and this remake, has been replaced this time by another terrifying character: Shrek. The green ogre from the Dreamworks movie saga has taken on the role of RE3 Remake’s deadly enemy thanks to a modder, who has decided, for some reason, that integrating him into the game was a good idea.

The result, as you can see in the video below, is a very well achieved nightmare; Although the villagers and soldiers of Far Far Away see him as a hellish creature who wants to devour his children, we, the spectators, have always had a very different vision of him: that of an affable and affectionate hero. Until now.

I remind you that Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake released on April 3, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 3’s File Size Is Twice As Big As Resident Evil 2 Remake

Microsoft Store’s official page has revealed the file size of Resident Evil 3, and it’s pretty big in comparison with the previous entries from the franchise.

The survival horror game is reported to be 43.01 GB. The Microsoft Store’s listing also claims that the game has been split into two different downloads, one for the story campaign, and the other for the Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer mode.

The campaign’s file size is reported to be 21.93 GB, which is about the same size as the Resident Evil 2 remake upon day one (21.07GB). Resident Evil Resistance – which was initially revealed as a standalone Resident Evil 4v1 experience, is about 20.47 GB.

It’s worth noting that the file sizes are for the Xbox One version of the game. The file size for the PC and PlayStation 4 ports might be slightly or mostly different. Capcom has already announced that the game is in its “final adjustments” phase, so we should get more details about other versions, too.

Resident Evil 3’s remake is launching on April 3, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is said to be more action-oriented in comparison with Resident Evil 2. Contrary to that game, though, it’s being co-developed at an external team called M-Two Inc., a studio founded by former Capcom’s veteran Tatsuya Minami.

Resident Evil 3 Install Size

January 1, 2020 at 8:12pm
By Jason Stettner

The install size for Resident Evil 3 has been revealed coming in at a rather large size at launch releasing on April 3, 2019 and taking up a total of 43.01 GB on the Xbox Marketplace. It should be noted that the file size is slightly different for this game, as it contains two separate titles.

The first is the actual remake of Resident Evil 3 at 21.93 GB and then Resident Evil Resistance at 20.47 GB. It appears these will be separate downloads, as they are sold as one bundle with the latter not being available separate. The game is also Xbox One X enhanced providing a 4k resolution with HDR support.

Resident Evil 3 is the latest Capcom remake within this franchise. This was developed with the proprietary RE Engine. As Jill Valentine you’re attempting to escape Raccoon City. You’re one of the last to have witnessed the atrocities that Umbrella has performed. In order to stop you, they’ve sent the relentless Nemesis your way. Some elements have been changed from the original as this is considered a re-imagining.

The second part of this is the Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer game. It’s a single person monster versus four survivors. As a single Mastermind you’ll attempt to halt the progression of the survivors as they attempt to escape. Do whatever you can, summoning creatures or perhaps setting up deadly traps. As the survivors solve puzzles, complete objectives and then escape before the clock runs out. You can check out more file sizes for recent game releases below.

Microsoft Leaks Resident Evil 3 File Size

Resident Evil 3 Will Have a 43.01GB Install Size

According to the Microsoft Store, the Resident Evil 3 Remake will have a 43.01GB install size, with Resident Evil Resistance being a separate download from the main campaign. Capcom themselves have already mentioned that development is nearly complete and this information shows that the game is close to going gold. The upcoming remake releases on April. 3rd for Xbox One, PS4 and PC so Resident Evil fans don’t have long to wait before the next title and in the meantime, Resident Evil 2 Remake is available on all of the same platforms now.

While the Resident Evil 3 campaign and new Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer mode will be separate downloads, it’s likely many gamers will download both to start and decide whether or not they like the multiplayer later. The campaign’s size accounts for 21.93 GB of the file size, while Resistance’s accounts for a slightly smaller 20.47 GB. Although this install size only confirms how large the download will be on Xbox One, the PS4 and PC will probably reflect the same size in their downloads as well.

When it was revealed that Resident Evil ambassadors were invited to try a new Resident Evil title, rumors about both an upcoming RE3 Remake and Project Resistance spread and it wasn’t long before both were confirmed to be in the same package. Some people theorized that they’d be separate games but Resident Evil fans will delight in two experiences for one price. Fans who pre-order Resident Evil 3 will receive in-game Classic Costume Pack which includes Jill in her original RE3: Nemesis outfit. The game also has a really cool collectors edition for those extreme RE fans.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake? What did you think of the remake of Resident Evil 2? Let us know in the comments below!

Resident Evil 3 download file size

Prepare your console or PC hard drives for the Resident Evil 3 download file size.

For those preparing to take on the zombie infestation in Raccoon City, knowing the Resident Evil 3 download file size is going to be an important step. The game has far more visual fidelity than its 1998 counterpart, which is bound to result in a larger file size than its original. Get your hard drives ready, because you’ll need a bit of space – not too much though.

Resident Evil 3 download file size

The Resident Evil 3 download file size is 21.9 GB on Xbox One. On PlayStation 4, it is 23.81 GB. Though we don’t currently have an exact figure for PC, the Resident Evil 3 Steam page says to have at least 45 GB free on your PC hard drive.

The file size of Resident Evil 3 on Xbox One is just shy of 22 GB. It’s only slightly bigger on PS4 at almost 24 GB.

While these are certainly larger than the install file sizes of some Nintendo Switch titles, they are dwarfed by some of the other file sizes of recent and upcoming games. The likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Final Fantasy 7 Remake have a file size of 107 GB and 100 GB respectively.

However, disc space is likely a concern for those players that aren’t using an external hard drive on their console or PC players with terabyte hard drives that are filling up. Now is the time to look through what you have installed and consider which one you’re likely not going to want to play anytime soon. The alternative is to purchase an external HDD to use for your digital downloads and physical installs.

Thankfully, the Resident Evil 3 file size isn’t too large. The troubles might stem from having to download it, what with the current strain on the network with people self-isolating. For now though, prepare some space and then check out the Shacknews 2020 video game release date calendar for ongoing updates about the state of games this year. You should also check out the Resident Evil 3 guide for walkthroughs, boss fights, and collectible guides.

Resident Evil 3 Remake PS4 File Size Hinted At

The file size for the Xbox One version of Resident Evil 3 Remake has been revealed via the Xbox Marketplace, giving us a rough idea of how much the PS4 edition will weigh in. Both versions of the game are likely to clock in at a very similar size, even if it’s not an accurate figure for PS4 users.

Resident Evil 3 Remake PS4 File Size

Resident Evil 3 Remake will weigh in at 43.01GB for Microsoft’s home console, although that’s actually a combination of two separate games: Resident Evil 3 (21.93GB) and Resident Evil Resistance (20.47GB), the accompanying multiplayer-centric spin-off.

While this doesn’t mean that the PS4 version will be the same size, it’s probably a close indication of how much space it’ll eat up on your hard drive. Resident Evil 2 Remake, for example, was a similar size on both formats at just over 21GB.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on April 3, 2020. The game is a full reimagining of the 1999 survival horror classic, which initially launched on PSOne and arrived on PC, Dreamcast, and GameCube a few years later.

The game takes place 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2, with ex-S.T.A.R.S. agent Jill Valentine attempting to escape a zombie-infested Raccoon City.

However, Valentine’s mission sees her battling against not only zombies and other T-Virus monstrosities, but also a relentless new Tyrant known as the Nemesis, which has been programmed by Umbrella to hunt down and terminate all surviving S.T.A.R.S. members.

With Resident Evil 3 getting a revamp, this leaves only Resident Evil CODE: Veronica as the last pre-RE4 mainline entry yet to receive the remake treatment. Hopefully that’ll change later down the line, though.

Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil 3 Remake will feature a number of expanded features over the original version, including the role of minor character Dario, who Jill meets at the beginning of the game.

Resident Evil 3 File Size Revealed

Capcom as of late has been killing it with the Resident Evil franchise. After going back to their roots with Resident Evil 7, the development studio had another mega-hit with the Resident Evil 2 remake. Fans had been pleading to Capcom in hopes that they would go back and offer a remake of the Resident Evil sequel installment, much like how they handled Resident Evil.

Early in 2019, we got Resident Evil 2 and it wasn’t very long after that we got the reveal of Resident Evil 3, a remake of the following installment. As the game franchise is likely to get plenty of sales from veteran fans alone, there are likely quite a few players experiencing the game for the first time.

For those of you who didn’t play Resident Evil 3 when it launched on the original PlayStation, the game takes place during the same events as Resident Evil 2. This time around, you’ll take the role of Jill Valentine, a former S.T.A.R.S member that is stuck in Raccoon City after being infested with zombies. You’ll need to explore, gather items and use them carefully.

While the game is slated to launch on April 3, 2020, we do have some insight as to how big of a file size the game will be. According to the Microsoft Store, Resident Evil 3 will be 43.01 GB. This download will be in two parts, the campaign along with the Resistance multiplayer game mode. As mentioned, Resident Evil 3 will be released on April 3, 2020, for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
