Resident Evil 3 Remake: Difficulty Modes, New Game+ & More Leaked (Spoilers)

How to Defeat Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword and Shield Max Raid Battles

The release of Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled for a few weeks, but Capcom has released a demo ahead of time. Meanwhile, the so-called dataminers have not stood still and have started rummaging through the data to discover some secrets stored in the code. Leaving aside the data that contains important information, a ResetEra thread has revealed that the work will incorporate a New Game+ mode, among other additional information.

According to these data, the reimagined version of the Capcom classic has four different game modes: Assist, which has automatic regeneration, as well as the Normal, Hard and Super Hard modes. The latter makes enemies more powerful and reduces the number of resources, but also modifies the location of enemies and objects with respect to other modes.

The New Game+ mode, meanwhile, is unlocked after finishing the game for the first time. According to data obtained by dataminers, when starting a new adventure through this option, “many parts of the game” will change and an unpublished ending will be added. If everything goes according to this script, there will also be numerous unlockable content, including concept art, character modeling, and costumes. Jill has, as long as the leaks materialize, four different suits; Carlos, only two.

The information comes from dataminers and is in the game code, which does not mean that everything that appears is an official confirmation. It is not the first time that people have found this kind of interesting details, and then it is not fulfilled in the final version. It should not be forgotten that Respawn Entertainment introduced false data into Apex Legends to trick dataminers and thus avoid ruining surprises for players.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will release on April 3 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Like the remake of the second installment, this production takes the original game as a starting point and builds a whole new playable and graphic framework around it. In addition, the mercenary mode is removed, although Resident Evil Resistance is added in the same package. It is an asymmetric multiplayer in which four survivors will face a Masterminds.

Capcom really put a guy named Martin Sandwich in the new Resident Evil

Commence with the Jill jokes

Capcom’s recently revealed Resident Evil 3 remake will include an asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance, in which a team of four survivors must try to escape a deadly experiment overseen by an opposing player controlling a character known as the Mastermind.

Crucially, one of those survivors — Capcom has confirmed six of them so far — is named Martin Sandwich. Capcom revealed this important information on Twitter on Wednesday.

Meet Martin Sandwich, one of the Survivors in Resident Evil Resistance, a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game included with Resident Evil 3.

A skilled engineer and mechanic, Martin can create traps to slow down or stun enemies. #RE3 pic.twitter.com/89a7hsC1bE

Of course, the obvious joke here is that Martin is somehow related to Jill Valentine, the butt of a terrible joke in the original Resident Evil. In case you missed that one, in that game, Barry Burton rescues his fellow STARS member Jill from being crushed to death by a trap in the game’s spooky mansion. “That was too close,” Barry says. “You were almost a Jill sandwich!”

It’s a classic, goofy-as-hell moment in a game infamous for its clumsy dialogue.

Capcom modified that line for the Resident Evil remake — “A second late, you would have fit nicely into a sandwich,” Barry says in that version of the game — but the company later poked fun at itself in Dead Rising, which had a restaurant named Jill’s Sandwiches.

We don’t know much about Mr. Sandwich, other than that he’s a “skilled engineer and mechanic, [and] can create traps to slow down or stun enemies,” but he certainly doesn’t look particularly stoked to have that name.

Martin will be joined by Becca, January, Samuel, Tyrone, and Valerie in Resident Evil Resistance, which will arrive alongside Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake on April 3, 2020. We played the Resistance mode back at Tokyo Game Show in September and found it to be a lot of fun — especially when playing as the sadistic Mastermind.

Resident Evil 3 Remake: Filtered difficulty modes, New Game + and more

March 23, 2020 By Chris Watson

The demo published on PS4, Xbox One and PC has served for dataminers to extract some data from the video game.

The release of Resident Evil 3 Remake is scheduled for a few weeks, but Capcom has released a demo ahead of time. Meanwhile, the so-called dataminers have not stood still and have started rummaging through the data to discover some secrets stored in the code. Leaving aside the data that contains gutting, a ResetEra thread has revealed that the work will incorporate a New Game + mode, among other additional information.

According to these data, the reimagined version of the Capcom classic has four different game modes: Assistant, which has automatic regeneration and does it easily, as well as the Normal, Hard and Super Hard modes. The latter makes enemies more powerful and reduces the amount of resources, but also modifies the location of enemies and objects compared to other modes.

The New Game + mode, meanwhile, is unlocked after finishing the game for the first time.

Jill Valentine, protagonist of Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Not everything that appears is written on fire

The information comes from dataminers and is in the game code, which does not mean that everything that appears is an official confirmation. It is not the first time that people delve into the bowels, discover something and then it is not fulfilled in the final version. It should not be forgotten that Respawn Enterainment introduced false data into Apex Legends to trick dataminers and thus avoid ruining surprises for players.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will be released on April 3 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In addition, mercenary mode is removed, although Resident Evil Resistance is added in the same package. It is an asymmetric multiplayer in which four survivors will face a master brain.

Something New

Resident Evil 3: 10 Things To Know About The Resistance Multiplayer Mode

The Resistance multiplayer mode is included with the new remake of the Resident Evil 3 game. Here’s everything players need to know to survive.

Despite the campaign’s short length, the remake of Resident Evil 3 packs about twenty hours of content for those looking to beat the game on every difficulty, obtain the S ranks, do all the Records, and buy all the special items from the shop. But that’s not all that comes with the purchase.

Packed in with the game is Resident Evil: Resistance, a multiplayer mode designed around survivors in an Umbrella testing facility tasked with fleeing while a mastermind does all in their power to prevent their escape. For anyone interested or slightly hesitant about trying it out, perhaps the ten tidbits of information below will help make up your mind one way or another.

10 Asymmetrical Multiplayer

What is special about Resistance is its four versus one setup. Four players are survivors doing everything they can to escape the environment, while one player behind the scenes sets up traps and lets zombies loose to make the testing facility their grave. Other popular games with the closest type of gameplay are probably Friday the 13th, Dead by Daylight, the now defunct Evolve, and the upcoming Predator: Hunting Grounds. Those put the lone player in a monster’s shoes, however, and not in charge of an environment.

9 Practice Mode

The key to victory for survivors is familiarity with the maps. This could lead to a steep difficulty curve and disadvantage for newcomers. Fortunately, a practice mode lets players grow accustomed to each map without the pressure of an online match. This way, one can feel comfortable with the environments before truly putting their skills to the test. This also means a fairly large time investment to play competitively, however.

8 Tutorial

One of the first things to happen when starting up the game is a tutorial prompt. While not mandatory, the crash course on how to play is highly recommended, especially considering the novel idea behind the multiplayer mode. Without it, figuring out the basics in the midst of a match is not only stressful, but it also puts the whole team at a disadvantage while playing as survivors. If one is the mastermind, then by the time the controls are understood, the other team will have already escaped.

7 Shop

Survivors earn points during their bid for survival which can be used in a match to buy weapons and healing items. The first few checkpoints are relatively easy and don’t seem too hard to bypass, but the ending runs require players to be fully stocked for even the slightest hope of survival.

Powerful weapons are available for purchase, which harkens back to the series’ more action packed-days with Resident Evil 4 and 5.

6 The Mastermind

The mastermind has more than just zombies at his disposal as they try to stop survivors in their tracks. While looking at them through the camera, they can also set traps for them to run into, costing the team health and precious time. Eventually, they can unleash Mr. X or William Birkin upon the players for massive damage. The monsters last about a minute out in the field, but that’s more than enough time to do some serious damage.

5 The Setup

The game briefly explains the lore behind this multiplayer mode when first starting it up. Taking place either during or before the Raccoon City outbreak, several poor souls are abducted and placed in a NEST 2 testing facility to test out the T-Virus in a combat setting. The mastermind is instructed to leave no survivors.

4 Melee

Unlike most Resident Evil games, melee combat plays a fairly large role. Players can choose from a variety of objects with which to bash zombies.

Since ammunition is a valued resource, some players may want to use close range weaponry for a short time before bringing the guns out. The melee is not as involved as other zombie games like Dead Island or Dying Light, but it holds up just fine.

3 The Survivors

The choice of survivor is not simply based on aesthetic preference. Each of them has a set of unique abilities to choose from. January can deactivate a camera, Tyrone can knock a zombie on the floor with ease, Valerie can heal other players, and so on and so forth. Coordinating with teammates and finding the right balance between all of these factors is key to victory.

2 Progression System

Like any modern multiplayer component worth its weight in server space, Resistance has a unique progression system. As players obtain more RP from playing, they can buy packages which unlock a variety of items to use during matches. While it encourages one to play more, it also puts newbies at a disadvantage as they do not have access to the game’s best abilities. At least experienced survivors can help out everyone with their souped up characters.

1 Separate Launcher

Despite coming with Resident Evil 3, Resistance acts as a separate game in all other respects, to the point of having its own launcher on the menus. Nothing one does in the single-player game has any bearing on Resistance, and vice versa. It makes one wonder what Capcom’s plans are for the game. Will they update it with each subsequent Resident Evil release? It probably all depends on its initial success.

Resident Evil 3: Resistance multiplayer mode Resident Evil 3 guide, walkthrough

On this page of the Resident Evil 3 Remake guide, you will find the most important information about Resident Evil Resistance online mode. You will learn whether the online mode is integrated with the main campaign and check the basic principles of Resistance mode. In addition, we have prepared various tips that will help you win in RE Resistance, either when playing as heroes or as a mastermind.

This page is in preparation. The current version is based on official press materials and the demonstration version of the game. It will be updated and expanded after the release of Resident Evil 3.

Is multiplayer part of the main campaign?

No, it is treated as a completely separate production. As a result, it is independent of the main single-player campaign. You can complete the entire campaign in the single-player mode without playing RE Resistance at all.

Will Resistance mode be available at launch?

Yes, it will be available at launch of Resident Evil 3 Remake, that is, April 3rd, 2020. You can play this mode for free, although console versions require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription. It is also possible that this mode will have some microtransactions.

How does the gameplay in Resistance mode look like?

Resident Evil Resistance offers asymmetric multiplayer. This solution is similar to games like Dead by Daylight, Friday the 13th, or Predator Hunting Grounds – one person plays against a group of other participants of the same online session.

There are two main sides of the conflict in RE Resistance:

  1. Heroes – Players (1-4) take control of the heroes whose task is to get out of the Umbrella Corporation labs and other places occupied by monsters. Each character has unique abilities, such as hacking. Players must work together to get to the specified evacuation point within the specified time limit. Death and respawn of any of the players reduce the time limit and make the task more difficult to complete.
  2. Mastermind – One player becomes an observer who uses the monitoring system to track other characters. Mastermind must do everything they can to prevent the heroes from reaching the evacuation point. This player can use, for example, tools for “summoning” monsters, disabling light sources, locking doors, arming local defense systems, or setting traps. In addition, from time to time, it is possible to take control of one of the Tyrants and personally hunt players.

Why You Shouldn’t Sleep On Resident Evil 3’s Resistance Mode

Share

Resident Evil has traditionally been a survival-horror franchise with a focus on moody isolation, which runs counter to the idea of online multiplayer modes. However, Resident Evil 3 includes an online asymmetrical 4v1 mode called Resistance that actually does a stellar job capturing the horror inherent in the series. In Resistance, a group of four survivors works together to escape the sadistic tests set up by the Machiavellian Umbrella corporation. Meanwhile, a single player-controlled mastermind works from the shadows to keep you in line and destroy your morale. It’s more fun than I suspected and might be worth your time.

Each match is split into three stages where survivors work to complete various goals. In the first stage, you scour the environments for keys to unlock the next area. In the next stage, you hack a series of computers while avoiding monsters. And in the final stage, you race across the map and work to destroy a number of experimental equipment. As players take down roaming zombies and other enemies they earn Umbrella cash that can be used to buy new weapons, herbs, and other tools at the beginning of each round.

For my first match, I play as the absurdly named Martin Sandwich. All of Resistance’s survivors have their own unique skills, and Martin is an engineering genius who can disable traps around the battlefield and use his flash baton to stun enemies. Using one of Martin’s skills, I ping the environment, which highlights objects on the map for the rest of my team. However, when I wander too far from the group I become an easy meal. It’s hard to play Resistance as a lone wolf, and teams of survivors need to stick together to survive.

Martin is a good example of a support character, but if you want to be on the front lines, you can play as someone like Samuel Jordan. This young bruiser used to train as a boxer, which makes him an ideal shield for the rest of the team. I love Sam’s dash punch, which allows him to quickly close in on zombies. Sam is also skilled in the use of melee weapons, such as bats and sledgehammers, which easily tear through groups of undead monsters.

Playing as a survivor is only half of the Resistance experience, and I probably had the most fun when I jumped into the shoes of a mastermind. The mastermind works behind the scenes laying traps and working to prevent the survivors from escaping before time runs out. Masterminds start with a complete view of the map and can see the location of all the survivors’ goals. They are also dealt a hand of random cards, which can be used to summon various monsters or lay trip mines. Masterminds can also get their hands dirty by directly controlling anything they spawn, but I felt that I was just as effective when I let my spawn run wild.

Iconic villains such as Annette Birkin and Ozwell Spencer return for the role of mastermind. During my turn at the controls, I play as Alex Wesker and I laughed with demented glee as I unleashed a small army of zombie dogs on a group of unwitting survivors. Each mastermind has their own ultimate attack, which allows them to do things like unleash Tyrants onto the battlefield or set up deadly laser fields that kill anyone they touch. Alex’s ultimate is a monstrous plant, which looks a bit like Plant 42 from the original Resident Evil. This plant’s vines whip out in all directions and it devours two survivors before they finally subdue my creature.

Over the years, Capcom has experimented with a lot of different multiplayer modes within the Resident Evil universe, but they have rarely left a lasting impact. However, I started having fun with Residence the moment I picked up the controller. Coordinating with a group of survivors is a lot of fun and manages to remain tense and scary. Meanwhile, the mastermind offers a more strategic level of play that we haven’t seen in a Resident Evil game before, but one that I’m actually interested in exploring more when Resident Evil 3 launches. We’ll have to wait for the final release to see if Resistance has staying power, but this is the most promising new mode we’ve seen from the series in a long time. Stay tuned for our upcoming review.

GAMERS DECIDE

Resident Evil 3 Remake 5 Mods to Completely Change the Game

The Resident Evil 3 Remake has been out for about a month now, and the modding community has already been hard at work creating various changes to the game. These range from skin changes, to mods that can change the way the game feels. Here are 5 mods that will completely change the game. Please keep in mind that you can only use mods if you have the PC version of Resident Evil 3.

RE3 Immersion Reshade

Various shading changes give the game a new level of immersion

The RE3 Immersion mod doesn’t change the game quite as much as the others on this list, but rather it changes a lot of the game visually. With four different types of reshading, you can make the game look the way you want it to and improve your experience with it overall.

Dino Crisis Crossover

A great mod for fans of the Dino Crisis series

If you want more dinosaurs in your Resident Evil game, this is the mod for you. The Dino Evil 3 mod replaces all of the zombies in the game with dinosaurs. You can pair this with the Regina skin mod to get the full Dino Crisis experience! Until Capcom gives us a Dino Crisis remaster, this will have to make due for our dinosaur fix.

Silent Hill Reshade

The thick fog will make it much harder to see incoming danger

This is another reshade mod, but unlike the Immersion mod, this one can make the game harder. This reshade makes the game look more like something from the Silent Hill series, covering the environments with a thick fog. With the constant fog, this will make it harder to spot enemies before they get close to you.

Randomizer Mod

Even herb and gunpowder combinations are randomized with this mod

If you have everything memorized in Resident Evil 3 already, then this mod will get you guessing again. The Radomizer mod randomizes the location of just about everything in the game. Environment objects, wooden boxes, weapons and more are in new and random spots. The only things not affected with this mod are enemies and key items.

Ultimate Trainer Mod

You can fully customize your game with this mod

The Ultimate Training mod lets you change many aspects of the game, allowing you to customize it as you see fit. A few features included in this mod are character swap, stage swap, adjusting the size and speed of both Jill and enemies (including Nemesis), infinite ammo, and invisible enemies. There are many more features that you can adjust in this mod, giving you a wide range of possibilities on how to play the game.

There are many more mods that you can use for the Resident Evil 3 Remake, including many reskins for the main characters and Nemesis. Hopefully these mods will be a great start in giving you a new experience with the game.

Resident Evil 3 Remake First-Person Mode | Can you play in first-person?

The opening to Resident Evil 3 remake has the player controlling Jill from a first-person perspective. It’s pretty jarring, especially with the narrow field-of-view, but it’s also reminiscent of the point-of-view used in Resident Evil 7. RE7 was a great success, with the first-person view working well to enhance the immersion, so perhaps first-person could make the RE3 remake a better game? Here’s what you need to know about a Resident Evil 3 remake first-person mode.

Can you play Resident Evil 3 remake in first-person mode?

Unfortunately, for those who wanted to play through the eyes of Jill and Carlos, it’s not currently possible to play Resident Evil 3 remake in first-person mode.

With that said, the game is now out on PC, where modders are always pushing the boundaries on what is possible in video games. Perhaps a Resident Evil 3 remake first-person mod will be created at some point down the line, allowing PC users to ditch the over-the-shoulder camera and see through the eyes of the main characters.

For now, though, the only way to experience first-person in Resident Evil 3 remake is at the very start of the game. It’s only a very brief moment, as Jill stumbles around in a nightmare scenario. Upon waking up, the nightmare is over, along with that first-person view.

If you want to experience a Resident Evil game in first-person, then Resident Evil 7 is a must-play. It even supports VR, giving those brave enough to play in virtual reality an even more immersive time. Maybe Resident Evil 8 will also be in first-person, but we’ll have to wait to hear more official information about that!

Sometimes things are more than they appear. In this Resident Evil 3 mod that’s not the case. It replaces N emesis with Shrek. That’s it. That’s the entire mod.

We saw a ton of mods transforming Resident Evil 2’s Mister X into the likes of Thomas the Tank Engine and others when it came out last year. Since Resident Evil 3‘s Nemesis functions in much the same way, stalking the player from room to room and popping out when they least expect it, it’s not surprising players have been doing the same with him.

Released earlier this month and spotted over the weekend by PC Gamer , the Shrek Over Nemesis mod replaces the game’s titular villain with the DreamWorks green menace. Unlike some goofier replacements though, Shrek is truly unsettling. Here’s a video of the mod in action by its creator, MrMarco1003.

You can see Shrek in other parts of the game (and with some brighter settings on) in this video .

I imagine it’s just as satisfying if not more so dumping Shrek into a giant chemical vat and then lighting him up with a prototype railgun at the end of the game.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis retcon is new hint at Resident Evil 4 remake

Changes made to the Resident Evil 3 remake could be further proof that Capcom are working on a Resident Evil 4 remake.

The remake of Resident Evil 3 made a lot of changes to the original game, both in terms of gameplay and story, some controversial and some not.

But it turns out one of these changes was done to serve as foreshadowing for the events of Resident Evil 4 and connect the two games’ stories, which may further confirm the previously reported Resident Evil 4 remake.

This comes from a recent interview on the PlayStation Blog, where Capcom talks about how it updated recurring monster Nemesis for the game, as well as how it built a playable version of it for the multiplayer mode Resident Evil Resistance.

While Nemesis’ appearance remains mostly unchanged from the original game, Capcom explained the lore behind his creation, revealing that the Nemesis project’s goal was to artificially create the Plaga parasite, which first appear in Resident Evil 4.

Not only that, but Nemesis can now infect other zombies with parasites, called NE-α, something he couldn’t do in the original.

From a gameplay perspective, this was done to help differentiate Nemesis from Resident Evil 2’s Mr X, but it also serves as another connection to Resident Evil 4.

‘We inevitably decided on this final ability due to the presence of Ganado in Resident Evil 4,’ says Capcom, ‘Ganado are humanoid enemies that are created through being infected with the Plagas parasite, the original basis for NE-α.

‘When the Plagas activates, it spawns from the neck of its host in the form of a tentacle. NE-α was created to imitate this parasitic quality. We wanted NE-α infected enemies to be visually similar to the Plagas-infected Ganados as a means for fans to piece together how Nemesis fits within the whole Resident Evil franchise.’

Resident Evil 2 Difficulty Modes Explained: What Are The Difficulty Modes In Resident Evil 2?

Resident Evil 2 has multiple difficulty modes which are tailored to get the best experience for the user depending on their play style.

Releases.com – Your guide to Game, TV and Movie Releases

Assisted difficulty mode (Easy)
Standard difficulty mode (Normal)
Hardcore difficulty mode (Hard)

But I’ve also been hearing it has an adaptive AI so it will tailor the difficulty to how well you are doing? Doesn’t mention that in the article. And I don’t know much about it.

Hardcore for me, the only way to play.

What’s the difference between standard and hardcore?

I just have one questing; did any of the infinite ammo tricks or unlockable infinite weapons survive into the remake, from the original version?
I mean, no big deal if they didn’t, since I normally compete a game once or twice through without such tricks anyways for the sake of fairness, but it would be nice if something like that is still in the game for subsequent play-throughs.
