The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane with 107 people on board crashed into a densely populated area near Jinnah International Airport on Friday. Pakistani model Zara Abid was reportedly one of 97 passengers killed in the accident. Zara is a pioneer in the modeling industry, who challenges conventional beauty standards by embracing her tanned skin. The 28-year-old recently won the Best Female Model award at the Hum Style Awards. After the news of his death made headlines, the grief-stricken friends of the industry lamented the loss. However, part of Twitterati took to the micro-blogging site to criticize the late model for wearing open clothing and claimed that she would be “punished in the afterlife.”
Sharing a photo of Zara Abid, a user wrote, “People who say that she will be in heaven after the #planecrash accident and become Muslim, I will tell them ALLAH Sir don’t like women who show their body parts to everyone and jannat only for pure men and women. “
When painful tweets continued to flood social media, Abid’s family reportedly deactivated all of his social media accounts. Meanwhile, some users condemn moral policy.
A user tweeted, “A young woman died in a horrible death … and our nation is busy debating whether she is jannati or evil … Who should you decide … don’t talk ill if you can’t empathize …”
E3 2019 preview: A new Xbox, Cyberpunk 2077 and Fable 4
Gaming’s biggest expo, E3, is about to kick off in Los Angeles. Here is a preview of all the big announcements that we expect to happen – and the ones we don’t.
Another June comes around and the video game industry prepares to congregate on the convention centres of Los Angeles. Ostensibly, to get a big look at all the new titles (and consoles) coming in the next six, 12 and maybe even 24 months.
It’s a weird year, one where several major publishers aren’t pitching up to the show – Sony, Activision and EA all have reduced or no presence at the convention – and all the chat is about streaming services rather than future consoles.
So, what will be announced? Here’s everything we think we could well see over its five days.
The brand new Xbox
While Sony isn’t at the show, it revealed the PlayStation 5 back in April via a lengthy feature on Wired. This has given Microsoft the impetus to reveal the next Xbox as soon as possible, which we know is in development and rumoured to come out around Christmas next year. With no hardware competition at E3, we’re expecting Microsoft to come out of the gates with a lot of information about what’s next for the future of the platform.
A Cyberpunk 2077 release date
Perhaps the most hyped game from last year’s E3, Cyberpunk 2077 is once again making an exciting appearance at the 2019 show. What form that will take is currently a mystery, but with Microsoft leading with new hardware, we wouldn’t be surprised if we get a release date for the upcoming open-world role-playing game. The publisher made a big deal of it during 2018’s conference – perhaps this year we’ll even see it made a launch title for the new Xbox.
Fable 4 reveal
Fable 4 is real and rumoured to be very different from what fans may have expected. Gone is Albion, the English industrial-era fantasy land of previous games; it has been replaced by – of all things – multiple different planets. The developer of this highly anticipated fourth installment is supposedly Playground Games, the force behind Forza Horizon, which would make a big departure for a studio most famous for open-world racing spin-offs.
No news on Elder Scrolls VI
Last year’s Bethesda conference was a banger, with wall-to-wall announcements from all sorts of studios in its roster. We don’t think we’ll see anything from its main team Bethesda Game Studios this year, though. The masterminds behind Skyrim and Fallout will be silent, we reckon, hiding from the limelight after the disaster of last year’s Fallout 76; busy at work on making sure the upcoming Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI are worthy of a modern audience.
A new game from Arkane Studios
The makers of Dishonored and Prey have been mostly silent since the release of the latter back in 2017. The buzz pre-E3 is that the artful makers of some of the world’s best immersive sims will have something very exciting to show during Bethesda’s conference on Sunday. We doubt it’s going to be a sequel to either of the studio’s existing series, so the bet is on brand new IP that could be one of the first games on the PS5 and next-gen Xbox.
Animal Crossing Switch in December 2019
Nintendo’s software pacing is always a bit confusing, but we’re sure that the next Animal Crossing is due to be announced for Switch. It’s one of the most highly anticipated games on the platform, and one that’s sure to sell millions of copies. However, until now, Nintendo has stayed completely schtum on the matter. With no big Mario games on the horizon, and only a remake of a Zelda classic to really rely on as they head towards the Switch’s third Christmas, a new Animal Crossing would be a smart move.
Halo Infinite release date
We thought the announcement trailer of Halo Infinite looked ropey at best. Middling graphics really didn’t sell the idea of a next generation Halo experience. And yet: we remain very excited for the future of the franchise, especially as shooters push towards online-only experiences like Destiny. As one of Microsoft’s most famous series, we’d be very surprised if the game didn’t get a new trailer and speculative release date to go alongside any news of the brand new Xbox.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games this 2020. With the recent reveal of Keanu Reeves and the release date of April 16th, 2020 fans have been eagerly anticipating the title for some time following the incredible success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We were able to see the behind-the-scenes footage of Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019 and it solidifies the notion that CD Projekt RED may release another masterpiece.
This demo was an extensive look at the gameplay, narrative, customization options, and lore of Cyberpunk 2077. In an hour so much information was provided that it made the entire presentation fly by. First off, we learned that players can choose from 3 backgrounds that include Corporate, Street Kid, and Nomad. Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses within both the narrative and gameplay. V can be extensively customized with various clothing, different faces, and attributes that include body, intelligent, reflex, tech, and cool. V is also equipped with an auto-translator which I assume will likely play a narrative purpose as V is constantly using it.
While V is given ample customization is clear that CD Projekt RED wanted this character to feel more like a part of the world instead of a hollow figure. V is just as much part of this world and Johnny Silverhands highlights this. Played by Keanu Reeves, Johnny is with V every step of what since he’s part of V’s mind. Which also happens to house a biochip that may be the key to immortality.
This presentation focused on the Voodoo Boys, a gang of Caribbean spiritualists who worship cyberspace, embracing the hacking world as a type of dogma. They clearly take care of their own with V, now shown as a male, is taken to one of the higher Voodoo Boys. It’s here we see the Southernmost part of the world, Pacifica. A now abandoned area that was meant for the rich and powerful but abandoned after an economic crash. Now all that’s left is half-built buildings and a people that don’t flinch when someone is shooting a gun mere feet from their position.
To put things into context, the first demo was set in Watson and the gang that V was facing were the Scavengers. Unlike the Animals or Voodoo, the Scavengers steal parts from whatever and whoever they want.
Driving plays a central part in Cyperpunk 2077, with V hopping onto a futuristic motorcycle and driving through the game’s open world. You can fast travel from any location and will feature a full day and night cycle but for the purpose of time, the sightseeing was limited.
Most of the demo focused on an infiltration mission, V is charged with heading into a rival gangs hideout. Called the Animals, these people are duked out with a drug called Juice that massively increases their physical attacks.
The first class shown was the Netrunner, a character specifically created for hacking and stealth. CD Projekt RED made it clear that players can combine whatever perks they want, allowing for dedicated specifics or a balance between skills. With the Netrunner, his main weapon is the nanowire and can hack specific locations. During these sequences, a minigame is played but less complicated machines can be instantly hacked. Such as when V uses a turret against the animals.
CD Projekt RED made a note that the game can be beaten without killing, which goes against what was stated in 2018 when the company was interviewed by Game Informer. Players can choose lethal or non-lethal techniques but everything you do will have consequences. During the demo, the V alerted Animals and caused the Netrunner to start creating new barriers for the player to contend with. All ending with V deciding how to take the narrative, with multiple paths provided that alter the entire campaign. Think The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings during the first chapter.
Cyberpunk 2077 is clearly bigger and much more elaborate than anything CD Projekt RED has done. The first demo was already impressive but this new updated version of the game is simply extraordinary. WIth a narrative that is constantly changing and enticing the player to try different possibilities. A world that houses various types of people, augmented and socially changed due to the rapid advancement of technology. And you, as the player, given the opportunity to do whatever you want. If you love video games, you owe it to yourself to pre-order Cyberpunk 2077.
E3 2019: Cyberpunk 2077 is Mysterious, Edgy and Looks Amazing
Part of Cyberpunk 2077‘s appeal is the fact we know very little about it. Given CD Projekt Red’s previous work, it’s easy to have faith in it, though it’s easy to see what you want when so little is known. Despite the demo not quite explaining everything, it gives a good idea of what to expect and has me even more excited for it.
The section shown takes place somewhere in the middle of the story and you want to get answers about a mysterious chip in your body. But, before we can worry about the central issue, you need to get support, which means you do a job.
We were hired by one gang to deal with another gang and deal with a threat. Everything is presented in a way where it’s easy to see this is a shaky situation but you proceed anyway.
For the remaining hour or so of gameplay, different approaches and outcomes were shown. Those looking to be stealthy can hack things and even get people to kill themselves, where as the brute force approach allows you to break doors and literally pull a turret out and use it on your enemies.
There is no such thing as a bad approach, though we were told it was entirely possible to finish the whole adventure without killing a single person, just that every approach has its own unique challenge to overcome.
As we got closer to the end, there were options that looked to vastly change how things played out, though the one we got suggested it might be more of the standard, all roads lead to the same destination thing. Upon completion, we get what we want, which is a road into the digital world.
As creepy and interesting as that looked, time was up. It made for a thrilling and simply fascinating ride, only really held back by a couple possible concerns. These include lackluster environment, not the most interesting enemies and Johnny Silverhand coming off like Tyler Durden.
But, even if all these things end up holding true in the final product, there is enough depth and charm to easily see Cyberpunk 2077 being a fantastic title.

CD Projekt Red will show off Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay at E3 2019
CD Projekt Red’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 gaming title will be shown off at E3. The Polish video game publisher and distributor’s Global Community Lead, Marcin Momot, has confirmed the news in a tweet. Momot says that the company will reveal more gameplay of the title next month at E3. Additionally, CD Projekt Red’s head, Adam Badowski also tweeted the company will be present in the public zone at the event where demo presentations will be hosted for the public. One can expect additional gameplay footage to be outed at the event since the company will be hosting gameplay presentations.
Momot also says that the game studio will be hosting both public and closed-door demos. The company executive says the two demos will be dissimilar but doesn’t delve out any details about them. The company was holding out on the public game demo last year, till the Gamescom event in August. If one is in LA next month, they can catch the gameplay live at LA Convention Center’s South Hall, booth 1023, between June 11 and June 13. It’s not confirmed whether the game makers will announce a launch date for Cyberpunk 2077 at E3. We don’t expect much either since the game’s famous tagline has been “Coming when it’s ready”.

The latest news and rumours that point to CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 having a 2019 release date.
CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is no doubt going to be amazing when it eventually becomes available for us all to play. The nearly hour-long gameplay demo at E3 2018 surely convinced all us naysayers that first-person was the right choice, and the latest Creating Cyberpunk video has shown off the incredible character creation suite that does the tabletop source material justice. In anticipation of the renowned developer’s confirmed appearance at this year’s E3, there has been news and rumours pertaining to a possible release date in 2019.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an ambitious RPG set in the vertical landscape of Night City. The developers have confirmed that it takes place 50 years after the tabletop source material in addition to being in a parallel timeline. Despite there being an incredible character creation suite, it’s first-person only as CD Projekt Red wants “to put you in the shoes and in the body of the character you’re controlling, so you feel like this is your character.” However, while this might sound disappointing, you will see your fully customised protagonist in cut-scenes.
As opposed to The Witcher 3’s heterosexual only relationships, the NPCs in Cyberpunk 2077 will be varied in sexuality, with some characters being gay, bi, or straight. Players will be able to have both casual and serious hook-ups, with CD Proket Red “aiming for big, complicated relationships that continue over the course of the game, but also casual encounters that don’t matter that much.”
In regard to a release date, Territory Studio – the company that worked on the logo design and animation for Cyberpunk 2077 – said they are looking “forward to a 2019 release“, before quickly removing their statement after it was already noticed by the public (image via Gamepur). Although this has resulted in many gamers keeping their fingers crossed for a release this year, it’s highly unlikely so you shouldn’t hold your breath.
The most recent rumour surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 is that A Star Is Born’s Lady Gaga will make an appearance. While this sounds like utter nonsense, it’s worth noting that the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account responded to a cryptic tweet from Gaga back in 2018.
There’s no knowing when Cyberpunk 2077 will be available for us to play and leave reality behind, but with E3 2019 around the corner hopefully we’ll soon get an announcement.

Cyberpunk 2077: 9 New Details We’ve Learned Since E3

Which is why I’ve skipped across the Internet reading Cyberpunk-related E3 interviews, and collated the most interesting details. Here’s the new information I’ve found – and this list will be updated as I spot more.
You can’t drive flying cars
Flying cars are a classic sci-fi image, and there’s certainly a lot of them in Cyberpunk’s Night City. But temper your excitement, as it sounds as though they’re more like set dressing or fast travel in CD Projekt’s world:
“When it comes to AVs [aerial vehicles],” said lead cinematic director Maciej Pietras to Rock Paper Shotgun, “yes, there will be moments when you will be able to fly AVs but you’re not going to be able to control it because if you refer to the source material, AVs are like the most expensive things in the Cyberpunk 2020 world.”
But you can ride bikes
The Cyberpunk hands-off demo showed a beautifully retro-futurist car being driven down Night City’s streets, but that won’t be the extent of your vehicle choices. Speaking to PC Gamer, level designer Max Pears explained that driving will be truly free, never on rails, and said there’s more to it than we saw:
“[Cars are] one of the ways you’re going to traverse [Night City]. It’s not just through cars, there’s bikes as well. It’s an important thing to make that feel good.”
Don’t expect to meet The Witcher’s Ciri
A lot’s been made of a certain section in The Witcher 3 when Geralt’s surrogate daughter, Ciri, describes an alternate reality she visited that sounds startlingly like Cyberpunk’s world. Many are expecting Ciri to appear as an Easter Egg at least, but a Polygon interview makes it sound like that’s unlikely.
“We are not Kingdom Hearts,” said game director Adam Badowski. “We are not joining universes, and I know that there are a lot of fans on the team and they would like to have Ciri in the game. But I am totally against it, still.”
Abilities are based on three classes
We were told that the game doesn’t make you pick a class at the beginning, instead asking you to evolve your style as you play – but it sounds as though there will be class routes of a sort: “We’re kind of focusing on three main ones for the game itself,” said associate design director Kyle Rowley to GameSpot. “Netrunner, Techie and Solo.”
However, the point here is that those classes are guidelines, and you can mix facets of them to match how you want to play. Rowley explained: “As you’re playing through the game, you’re modifying, adjusting your class based on the attributes, the perks you pick, the cyberware you install. So it’s a very fluid class system.”
Other Cyberpunk 2020 classes will appear
Netrunner, Techie and Solo are drawn directly from the original Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game, but there were more role choices than that in 2020. While the focus is on those three for the player-character, other familiar classes will be reflected in NPCs you meet. Again, Rowley said to GameSpot:
“The other cool classes that are in , like Rockerboy and Corporate, they’re kind of more in there from a lore perspective, from a story perspective. You’ll encounter characters that represent those other alternate roles, but it’s not something we’re going to allow the player to necessarily play with.”
There will be multiple companions
The hands-off demo featured a companion called Jackie (he’s the guy in the middle of this story’s thumbnail image). He assisted the player by pointing them to missions, providing a car, and taking part in combat. It seems he won’t be the only NPC helper you’ll meet. PC Gamer’s interview with Max Pears revealed:
“You’re definitely going to encounter different characters that will come with you on different missions as well. So there’s a range of cool characters you meet along the way.” Those characters will come with their own combat styles and roles – perhaps tying into those Cyberpunk 2020 classes the player won’t get to use.
Conversations will be seamless
It wasn’t totally clear in the hands-off demo how the player initiated conversations with NPCs – and it turns out that’s because they didn’t. Characters will talk to you and dialogue choices seemingly appear without a break in play. Maciej Pietras told Rock Paper Shotgun:
“We’re trying to create a seamless experience, where you don’t actually see the big difference between the gameplay and cinematics [. ] We’re trying to really express the world, the interactivity, the NPCs, as fluidly as possible… When it comes to interruptions… we revised the Witcher 3 system and we’re trying to find a way where it’s seamless as possible. We’re working on creating this weird feeling… where if a person is still talking to you, she can be interrupted.”
Multiplayer won’t feel disconnected from the core game
We already knew that Cyberpunk should be getting a multiplayer component, but that it won’t be available at launch. Max Pears told GamerHubTV that the mode is currently in R&D . More interestingly, though, he made clear that any multiplayer should feel familiar to fans of CD Projekt games, hopefully ruling out the possibility of the tacked-on deathmatches we see in other single-player focused games:
“We are primarily a single-player studio [. ] whatever [form] multiplayer takes, just know that we are doing the research to make sure it sticks to our core as a studio as well.”
The game is in pre-alpha
Perhaps the least surprising entry on this list – you’re not going to be playing Cyberpunk 2077 anytime soon. Speaking to Bankier (via VG247), CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński said the game is currently “earlier” than an alpha build (essentially, when all the key features are in place, but not near polished).
“This [E3 demo] is the most polished part of the game we have now,” he explained, “prepared in some sense to show it to people outside the company.” It seems like I’ll have plenty of time to add to this list.
E3 2018: Cyberpunk 2077 Doesn’t Look Like The Witcher, But It Does Look Incredible
We’ve seen a live gameplay demo of Cyberpunk 2077, and walked away incredibly impressed.
Six Years after its first reveal, I have seen a live demo of Cyberpunk 2077, and it looks like everything I was hoping it would be. A beautiful and sprawling RPG set in an alternate future that sits somewhere between Dredd, Blade Runner, and The Fifth Element.
The biggest surprise is that the gameplay is almost entirely first-person. With a helluva lot of guns to fire and damage values popping up as your bullets hit enemies, the combat plays out more like Borderlands or Deus Ex than it does The Witcher 3. There are tons of abilities to use during combat, including bullet ricocheting and a bullet time slow down that came in handy quite a bit during the 45-minute demo I saw.
The shooting looks solid as well, though it’s always hard to tell without going hands on. Shotguns, pistols, and an enemy-seeking rifle all had kick and feedback to them that I maybe wasn’t expecting from the studio behind The Witcher. It seems slower than something like Borderlands, but definitely faster than Deus Ex, and using abilities in conjunction with your guns clearly seemed important.
And while we saw a bit of stealth, and I’m sure using the Mantis arm blades and a late game wall run ability will help facilitate that, our demo was mostly guns-blazing. One cool moment was when the player took out an enemy stealthily, then jacked directly into him to get a schematic of the base they were fighting through, hacking various systems to cause havoc.
Outside of the heat of battle, however, Cyberpunk’s RPG core shines bright and clear. You take quests, talk to NPCs with branching dialogue options, and explore an open world only limited by your “Street Cred” value — which can be increased by doing jobs, or even by putting on sweet looking clothes, like a leather jacket that had a 5% increase to Street Cred in addition to other stats.
You play as a mercenary cyberpunk named V, a bespoke character that you can customize to be male or female and deck out with tats, electronics, and all sorts of other outfits befitting the game’s name. You also assign points to six stats (most of which are from the original Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game): Strength, Constitution, Intelligence, Reflexes, Tech, and (my favorite) Cool.
But Cyberpunk also pulls away from other typical RPG molds. Instead of picking a class archetype, you get to customize and specialize as you see fit during the game, making your own class of sorts. You get to customize V’s backstory as well, and instead of more typical options you might expect, there are questions like picking your “Childhood Hero.”
But while your character is your own, this is clearly as much of an open-world RPG as The Witcher 3. We saw V, a woman in the demo I watched, walking around the dense and winding Night City to talk to allies, get quests from shady criminal sources, and upgrade her abilities and body parts.
That scanning is important, because there appear to be four different types of damage in Cyberpunk 2077: Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical. Scanning shows you what damage the enemy uses, as well as what they are weak or strong against.
There were also equipment and chip slots, and one chip we saw towards the end of the demo gave V a robot spider about the size of a dog that would follow and fight for her. It rocked. Player choice seems incredibly important to Cyberpunk, and I feel like we only scratched the surface of its customization options
That said, Night City seems to have a lot of depth and height to it if you’re walking around. It’s got huge sky-rises full of things to do, sodas to buy (which can be used later like most RPG food), and V used elevators to get between floors. Like I said, it comes out as a dense city with lots of side paths to explore.
And Cyberpunk has more AI civilians just bustling around on ground level than I’ve seen in most games. Walking around in first-person made the city streets feel alive with action, not like a game. It was truly remarkable.
Cyberpunk 2077’s writing and voice acting seemed superb as well from what I could tell. It was clever and well-written — at one point a dialogue choice had V chastise her Ripperdoc for narrating what he was doing, poking fun at another game trope.
The dialogue options also seemed like they had real weight to them. At one point, a deal gone south made V end up getting hacked by her enemy, a line plugged into her that acting as a digital lie detector. The player could lie still, but when she said that she didn’t have back-up (she did) it caused them to search for her partner. All the while, the option to just grab the gun and start a fight persisted, but the player was able to talk their way through without conflict.
Those dialogue options don’t feel as stationary as The Witcher 3, either. Occasionally more casual dialogue choices would pop up while walking around with V’s NPC partner. That, coupled with the first-person camera, makes Cyberpunk 2077 seems significantly more immersive than having more structured conversations as Geralt.
A handful of cutscenes were the only times Cyperpunk left first-person — apart from driving which gives you the option to swap, though first-person has a sweet MPH UI on your windshield. It’s nice to know that you’ll be able to see your custom V during the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely not just “Cyberpunk Witcher,” it’s something a whole lot more than that. The core of what I loved about The Witcher is clearly there, but in a wild and exciting new shell that stands as something wholly its own. Questions about how free its open world feels, the quality of its stories, and if the guns are actually good to shoot when they are in our own hands persists, but having finally seen Cyberpunk 2077 in action, I’m more excited for it than ever.

Cyberpunk 2077 Reportedly Present At E3 2018; Trailer Being Shown Alongside Playable Behind Closed Doors Demo – Rumor
CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will allegedly be present at this year’s E3 event, if a report from a major Polish gaming website is to believed.
GRYOnline.pl writes that two different sources have separately confirmed the game’s presence at E3 2018, at which a trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 will be shown off. In addition, it is said that a behind closed doors demo will be presented to journalists at the event.
“We obtained information about the plan to present the game at the most important industry event independently from two different sources and in both cases we can not disclose where they came from”, the article from GRYOnline.pl (roughly translated) reads. “We immediately reserve that such revelations must always be treated with an appropriate distance. Until CD Projekt RED officially announces that Cyberpunk 2077 will appear at E3, there is absolutely no certainty that this will happen. We strongly believe, however, that the above speculations will be confirmed.”
The trailer for the highly-anticipated RPG will allegedly be shown before the actual expo during one of the press conferences.
As with all rumors, take the information above with a grain of salt for the moment.
An interesting note however, is that the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account recently became active again after being inactive for more than 4 years.
Other than being much larger and more ambitious than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, not much is known about CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Just Gave Away a Ton of The Witcher 3 Codes
Be lucky or fast and you might still get one
Hidden within the sprawling, scrolling code at the very beginning of the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, which closed Xbox’s E3 2018 presentation, was a little surprise for the more observant gamers out there. Twenty five character codes rapidly scrolled by before fans even got a glimpse of gameplay footage, and it just so happens that Xbox Store codes consist of twenty five characters. According to those who got in early, the code unlocked The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition.
I’ve tested a few of these codes and so far they’ve all been taken, so it seems they’ve likely all been taken, but there were a lot of codes and freezing the image at the right time can be extremely difficult (especially on hotel wifi). So, if you’re still on the lookout for a free copy of The Witcher 3, you might want to check out the video below, specifically starting around the 2:31:00 mark. The codes appear after the ICBRK.exe program is “run”. Freeze it at the right time and you’ll be able to read some of the codes, enter them into your Xbox One or the Xbox website and you might get lucky.
As I said, all the codes I tried were either too hard to read, or were already taken, but with enough perseverance you might find one that hasn’t been snatched up already.
