Cyberpunk 2077 adds Stadia version
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available for Stadia in addition to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, developer CD Projekt RED announced during the latest Stadia Connect.
Here is an overview of the game, via CD Projekt RED:
■ The Role-Playing Game of the Dark Future
About the Game
In 2077, America is in pieces. Megacorps control life in all its aspects from the top floors of their sky-high fortresses. Down below, drug-pushing gangs, dirty-tech hustlers, and slingers of illicit braindances run the streets. The world in between is where decadence, sex, and pop culture mix with violent crime, extreme poverty, and the unattainable promise of the American Dream.
In a world where you have no future, what matters is that you control who you are. To survive and protect your independence, you modify your body with advanced cyberware and take jobs others would never dare. You choose to live free, bound by no systems or controls—the only rules you obey are your own. Because you’re a Cyberpunk.
In Cyberpunk 2077 you play as V—a hired gun on the rise and you just got your first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners, and corporate lifehackers, today you take your first step towards becoming an urban legend.
■ Become a street mercenary of the future…
Create a hero able to survive in America’s most dangerous megacity.
- Create Your Own Cyberpunk Your name is V, and you can be anyone you want to be. Cyberpunk 2077 will feature full character customization, with gender, appearance, and personal background all affecting the shape of your game. As you progress. you’ll develop skills in urban warfare and network hacking, as well as modify your body with cyberware like infra-red eyes or neural reflex boosters.
- Fluid Class System – Become a Netrunner. Techie or Solo.. or a mix of all three. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t impose any player roles and allows all available classes.
- See Night City Through Your Eyes – Cyberpunk 2077 brings first-person perspective back to the role-playing genre. Deep narrative immersion is a key design priority, and you’ll experience the story of the game’s protagonist entirely through their eyes.
- Interactive Dialogue Control – You’re a participant, an agent, not an observer. Cyberpunk 2077 features an interactive dialogue system that gives players maximum control during conversations—comment on an uncooperative character’s tattoo to please them, or end a conversation early with a well-placed bullet. The choice is always yours.
- Game Noir – With its mature approach to storytelling, Cyberpunk 2077 adopts elements of noir cinema and inserts them into the future of video games. Without a clear definition of what’s good or evil, in Cyberpunk 2077 you’ll make hard choices to define yourself in a city that wants to bring you to your knees.
■ …and enter the most decadent megacity…
Night City is a playground for dreamers, an urbarn jungle that offers luxury excess… or a bullet to the brain if you mess with the corporations.
- Go Anywhere, Do Anything – Cyberpunk 2077 is fully open-world, which means Night City is yours for the taking – if you’re prepared. With 6 distinct districts to explore, hundreds of buildings and thousands rooms to enter, and dozens of miles of roads to hit, there are always places to be and things to do.
- You’re Worth What You Have – The world of cyberpunks is all about your gear. Wear designer clothes, buy (or steal) cars, and acquire black market military tech to help you during your missions. Then use blood money to invest in properties all around the city.
- Jack In, Run the Net – Night City is fully connected and offers countless cyberspace access terminals. As you explore the Net, you’ll discover layers of hidden systems, firewalls, and security programs deployed to fry your brain. During missions, you’ll clash with hostile netrunners defending corporate megabuildings—both in cyberspace and in the real world.
■ …to uncover it’s dirtiest secrets.
Story-driven and action-packed, Cyberpunk 2077‘s cinematic plot was written to provide a rich and robust single-player experience. Offering dozens of hours of main arc quests and lots of additional activities like side quests and Street Stories, the game is a good fit for both hardcore completionists and gamers who like to focus on instant action. Featuring CD Projekt RED’s trademark storytelling system driven by choice and consequence, in Cyberpunk 2077 players navigate the streets of Night City along strongly contrasting paths to arrive at one of a range of story outcomes.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. A release date for the Stadia version was not announced.

Ghostrunner: Everything You Need to Know About the Cyberpunk Game
After months of minimal news following its reveal last year, Ghostrunner finally received a free demo, giving fans a clearer idea of what’s in store.
With all the hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, some might have lost sight of another cyberpunk game in the works. If Ghostrunner wasn’t on your radar before, it should be now. Ghostrunner is an upcoming first-person action hack-and-slash game set in an dystopian cyberpunk universe that’s being developed by One More Level. The game was first revealed in a trailer last year which promised fast-paced and high-adrenaline combat. Since then, we’ve only gotten mere glimpses of the game through screenshots, videos and rare demos at conferences such as PAX.
To say that the information regarding the game trickled out slowly is an understatement. However, that all changed on May 6 when the developers released a public demo on PC, available until May 13. With this sudden wealth of information, let’s take a look at what we know about the game so far and what we can expect from its full release.
In terms of story, there’s a lot that’s up in the air. The only things we know for certain come from the Ghostrunner official website. According to the website, the world is in a sorry dystopian state where life doesn’t amount to much and death is always close by. However, it also hints that the world was not always this bleak and miserable. It refers to an “apocalypse” that ruined a once shining civilization. Even more mysterious is the presence of a tower that “houses the survivors of the apocalypse.”
As the main character, players are tasked with ascending the tower and figuring out the truth about what really happened to the world. This task is complicated by the fact that there are many foes adamant on hunting the player down for the augmentations and technology underneath their skin. From the cinematic trailer, we can also assume that the game will feature some kind of boss battle encounter with that Dr. Octopus-esque person. Thankfully for the player, the main character is far from a push-over.
In Ghostrunner, players take control of an augmented living weapon capable of things beyond the scope of a normal human. Imagine if you took the cybernetic ninja, Genji, from Overwatch and gave him the supernatural abilities from the Dishonored series. The result of that concoction would be the Ghostrunner protagonist.
From what we’ve seen in the demo, players are able to wall-run, use a grappling hook to get onto platforms, bisect foes in one clean sword swing, deflect bullets, dash, slow time and slide their way to victory. And this was all just from the demo. In the full game, it wouldn’t be surprising if players could upgrade preexisting abilities or install new software to learn new skills. For example, it would be incredibly useful if players were able to unlock infrared sight to see enemies through walls. All of these abilities are necessary to survive in Ghostrunner, as combat can end in the blink of an eye.
Ghostrunner‘s gameplay requires players to move fast and think faster. Much like Mirror’s Edge and Dishonored, there are a lot of movement mechanics in the game, all of which players must master in order to have a chance at surviving. This is clear from the demo in which players have to dodge bullets, wall run, slow time and jump all within milliseconds of each other. Movement is essential because players are only equipped with a katana, a weapon that is only effective when you’re close to an enemy. There’s no time to rest because, if you stop, you’re going to get perforated by the trigger happy enemies.
Obviously, the game encourages players to move fast, and this is further underlined by the way death works. In most games, death is followed by a loading screen and a return to a checkpoint, but Ghostrunner takes the Hotline Miami approach. Players respawn immediately after death with little to no wait time. With one simple button press, players are back in the game, free to try again. This system helps keep the break-neck pace of the game consistent.
Overall, Ghostrunner looks to be a promising cyberpunk action game. With all the current mechanics and the possible addition of more, Ghostrunner might just be a big hit. Currently, there’s no official release date, but it’s slated to come to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2020, so keep an eye out.
Cyberpunk 2077 To Feature 50-60+ Hours of Gameplay Since Day One
Based on a recent interview regarding loot boxes and DLC, it looks safe to state Cyberpunk 2077 will feature between 50 and 60 hours of gameplay since day one, in the tradition of longer RPG.
Talking with PC Gamer, CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski said that he and his team prefer to provide the fans with a role-playing game complete, “polished” and “big” since day one, without necessarily recurring to additional paid content and microtransactions.
“If you buy a full priced game, you should get a big, polished piece of content, which gives you many, many hours of fun gameplay,” he said.
“The definition of ‘many’ may vary on a title-by-title basis, but in our case, it was always 50-60+ hours of the main story-line, with up to a couple of hundred of hours of side activities—if you really wanted to max out the title. To me, this is a fair deal. You get what you paid for, plus we are always trying our best to overdeliver.”
Discussing microtransactions, Iwinski added he appreciated the fact that loot box has had fans infuriating not only among hardcore gamers but also more regular gamers who feel such system is unfair in regards how they relate to standard content.
“‘Conversation’ sounds way too nice to describe what was happening last year. I would rather call it community backlash. And this time around, it wasn’t just the hardcore community, there were a lot of really pissed off gamers out there and they decided to speak up. Where we stand is quite simple and you could see it with all of our past releases—most recently The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and GWENT.”
Cyberpunk 2077 still lacks a release date but should be among the protagonists at the upcoming E3 2018 in June.
Even Buildings in Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City Will Be Filled With Activities
CD Projekt RED has previously teased that Cyberpunk 2077‘s Night City will have a lot for players to explore. But this isn’t limited to outdoor spaces. Lots of things will appear inside of buildings too. This revelation came after a developer’s responded to a fan question on Facebook.
On Reddit, a user posted their Facebook exchange with a CD Projekt RED representative. The exchange began with the fan asking how the size of Cyberpunk 2077’s game world compares to that of The Witcher 3. The studio rep couldn’t delve into explicit detail since, according to them, it’s difficult to measure the scale of Night City. Interestingly, much of the difficulty stems from the city’s verticality. Many buildings in Night City will feature multiple floors to explore. Each floor houses a number of activities.
Check out the developer’s response below:
What these various activities will consist of remains shrouded in mystery. Additionally, it’s also unknown exactly what CD Projekt Red is referring to when it talked about “activities.” Could it be referring to minigames and miscellaneous challenges, perhaps? At any rate, it’s intriguing to get another tease of just how dense the studio is making Night City’s six unique districts.
The wording of the response also suggests buildings won’t be the only spaces housing activities. With the rep’s use of “downwards,” it seems underground locations will have multiple floors too.
Beyond the main story, not much is known about what Cyberpunk 2077’s open-world will offer. Apparently, side missions will to play a large role, specifically because of their quality. CD Projekt Red has previously noted that it hopes players do not find it jarring to bounce between side missions and main missions. Similar to The Witcher 3, secondary quests should feel just as high-quality as those on the main story path.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Night City’s Buildings Can House “A Lot of Activities”
CD Projekt RED explains how the scale of Night City differs from The Witcher 3’s world.
Posted By Ravi Sinha | On 22nd, Nov. 2018 Under News
CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be a big game. Even if you didn’t go by past statements made by the developer, its pedigree on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is proof of its skill in crafting a dense, memorable world. That being said, how big is Night City compared to The Witcher 3?
A Reddit user posed this question to the game’s official Facebook page. Though a representative confirmed that there would be six districts in total, the total size in square meters wasn’t yet known (because no one has counted it yet). However, the comparison is difficulty simply because there are lots of buildings with different floors.
If there’s a tall building – and there will be many that can be explored – each floor can house “a lot of activities” and stack on top of each other. So while The Witcher 3’s world had a lot of scattered activities due to being “flatter”, Night City can be large both upwards and downwards. Considering how unique each district is and how it all “blends nicely into one consistent and believable city environment,” there should be plenty to keep players busy.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Though it doesn’t have a release date, there are reports of it possibly releasing in 2019.
Cyberpunk 2077 fans, torment yourselves with themed hardware
Microsoft and friends go all out for CDPR’s eagerly awaited behemoth.
In an ideal world we’d all be playing Cyberpunk 2077 right now—it was originally down to be released just under a week ago (16 April 2020). We now won’t see the game until 17 September, by which time we hopefully won’t need an all-encompassing dystopian future to bury ourselves in, we’ll just be electing to do so instead. Still, that hasn’t stopped Microsoft, Seagate, and Steelseries from releasing Cyberpunk 2077 hardware.
The big one here is the Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 edition, which… doesn’t look that great. Rubbish even. The worn out dystopian vibe is all present and correct, but it just looks like a badly painted last generation console. You have to wonder who would pick up such a thing as well, as surely anyone that is interested in an Xbox One X has already done so. Maybe it’s to inspire people to paint their consoles? It won’t be available until June 2020 by the way.
The control on the other hand is at least more interesting (although, confession time: I absolutely hate all controllers, because a keyboard and mouse is clearly superior in every way. No you can’t change my mind.) But aesthetically at least, it works much better. It’s got that retro futuristic feel down beautifully.
And then there’s the Cyberpunk 2077 Headset line from Steelseries, which comprises the Arctis 1 Wireless for Xbox, Jonny Silver hand edition and the Arctis 1 Wireless Netrunner Edition (for us PC users). There are a couple of booster packs that cover off the other factions in the game as well—Arasaka, Kang Tao, and Militech.
To be fair to Steelseries, it knows a thing or two about audio, and has topped our best headset guide for a while now with its Arctis 7, so of all the branded gear being announced at the moment, this is the one that is probably the least naff. But still it’s going to be strapped to your head, and you won’t see it that much, so I’m not sure what the branding does for you.
Finally (for now at least, there’s clearly a lot more of this tat , I mean gorgeous branding, to come), we have a Cyberpunk 2077-themed drive from Seagate. Nope, you read the right. A hard drive. Actually, scratch that, it isn’t a hard drive at all, it’s a ‘game drive’. It comes in 2TB and 5TB versions and it’s clearly going to make the game better somehow when it does finally land. Guess what, it’s got a splash of yellow on it too. And some numbers and dots.
I’m beginning to get a nervous tick about the Cyberpunk 2077 yellow, and the game isn’t even due out for another five months.
Alan has spent far too much of his life in World of Warcraft and playing Magic the Gathering to be a normal human being, which is why he has retreated to the warm embrace of gaming hardware.
Cyberpunk 2077 will take advantage of future and more powerful hardware, will not feature microtransactions
During its fiscal year 2017 financial presentation, CD Projekt RED’s president Adam Kicinski, shared some new interesting details about Cyberpunk 2077. According to Kicinski, the tech that is powering Cyberpunk 2077 is very advanced and will take advantage of future, more powerful hardware.
Our guess is that Kicinski is referring to next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Two) as there were rumours that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a cross-gen title. Still, we can hope that CD Projekt RED will also push the PC graphics cards to their limits.
Kicinski reconfirmed that the development team aims to deliver a huge story-driven single-player role-playing game that will not feature any microtransactions or hidden payments.
Kicinski also confirmed that in Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to create their characters and choose among various classes. Kicinski also hinted that the team may add multiplayer support after its release. In other words, the team is currently focused on the game’s single-player mode and there are no official plans – at least for now – for a multiplayer mode.
Last but not least, Kicinski said that CD Projekt RED will reveal what it will be showing at E3 2018 right before the event, so stay tuned for more!

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Being Developed To Take Advantage Of “Future, More Powerful Hardware”
CD Projekt Red is hard at work on Cyberpunk 2077, but very little is currently known about the game. During today’s fiscal year 2017 financial presentation, president Adam Kiciński spoke a little about the game, saying something that seems to fuel the cross-gen release rumors we have heard recently.
During the presentation, Adam Kiciński confirmed that what the team will show at this year’s E3 will be announced right before the event. He also wanted to avoid talking about Cyberpunk 2077, but ended up talking about it anyway.
According to CD Projekt President, Cyberpunk 2077 is technologically quite advanced and it’s being developed in a way that it can take advantage of future, more powerful hardware. He also confirmed that character creation and multiple classes will be in, and that the team is focusing on developing a story-driven RPG in the vein of The Witcher 3, and that multiplayer may be considered, as they want to add online features to their titles.
Back in January, we have heard that the game will indeed be shown at this year’s E3 and that a demo is going to be shown to the press behind closed doors.
We obtained information about the plan to present the game at the most important industry event independently from two different sources and in both cases we can not disclose where they came from. We immediately reserve that such revelations must always be treated with an appropriate distance. Until CD Projekt RED officially announces that Cyberpunk 2077 will appear at E3, there is absolutely no certainty that this will happen. We strongly believe, however, that the above speculations will be confirmed.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on a yet to be confirmed release date. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
Cyberpunk 2077 Updates Its Feminine Protagonist’s Look, Confirms Reverse Box Art Image
Celebrating International Women’s Day with a solid makeover.
Posted March 9, 2020, 1:11 p.m.
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red is celebrating International Women’s Day by showing off an updated depiction of the feminine version of the protagonist, V. The new art is also Cyberpunk 2077’s reversible box art.
CD Projekt Red shared the new look from the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account. V still looks like the hardened citizen of Night City we’ve seen in other trailers and screenshots, with a few key differences. This feminine version of V now has much brighter red hair, pierced ears, and some minor changes to her face. It appears some of the smokey eyeshadow is gone, and the lines in her face (we assume an indicator of some past bodily modification or repair) swoop a little lower on her cheeks now.
Here’s an older look, for reference.
The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account confirmed in multiple tweets that this new image (the first on this page) will be the reverse box art cover, so you can decide whether you have a masculine or feminine V gracing your game.
Character customization will be a core part of Cyberpunk 2077, unlike the more set-in-stone Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Players will be able to change their V’s body type, clothes, hairstyle, tattoos, makeup, skin tone, and more. CD Projekt Red is also allowing players to choose a body type rather than a strictly defined gender, although the studio was criticized last year for a problematic depiction of a transgender person on an in-game poster in demo footage.
If you’re wondering what other characters you’ll meet in Cyberpunk 2077, the artist Grimes recently leaked her own character’s backstory.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on September 17, 2020, thanks to a relatively recent delay. You can preorder the Cyberpunk special or regular editions with our helpful guide.
Don’t forget to check out our other International Women’s Day coverage, including a guest editorial from Ubisoft’s Alice Rendell on how burning out influenced her game developer career.

Keanu Reeves’ John Wick & Johnny Silverhand now playable in Metal Gear Solid 5 thanks to this amazing mod
Keanu Reeves fans, here is something for you today. After the gaming community embracing Keanu Reeves, we were expecting the first mod based on the actor to be for CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3. However, it appears that the first Keanu Reeves mod is available for Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Created by modder ‘JinMar’, this mod allows you to play as John Wick or Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077. Now since these 3D models are based on Keanu Reeves, we are pretty sure that his fans will be very pleased with this mod. Now imagine if the modder could also, somehow, add the “You’re breathtaking” line to it.
Naturally, and since this is a 3D swapper, it does not alter/change the voices so it will be a bit weird listening Keanu with Kiefer’s voice. Furthermore, this is still a WIP project, meaning that there might be some glitches and graphical issues (in the John Wick screenshots you can clearly notice the different skin colours of the neck and head for instance).
Still, this is a clever mod and I’m pretty sure that a lot of players will download it in order to replace Snake’s model. Those interested can download it from here and you can use the Hair 1 Preset to play as John Wick, or the Hair 2 Preset to play as Johnny SIlverhand from Cyberpunk 2077.
In order to showcase the mod, JinMar has also released some screenshots that you can find below.

Cyberpunk 2077: Who is Keanu Reeves’ Character?
CD Projekt RED confirms who Keanu Reeves will be playing in Cyberpunk 2077, also confirming that the Hollywood actor is doing full body motion capture for the character.
CD Projekt RED reveals more information about the character that Keanu Reeves will be playing in Cyberpunk 2077. The confirmation that The Matrix and John Wick star would be in the sci-fi RPG was one of the biggest surprise announcements from the Xbox press conference at E3 2019.
In a press release, CD Projekt RED confirms that Reeves will be playing a character named Johnny Silverhand, providing his voice, appearance, and doing motion capture for the character. Silverhand is a legendary rockstar in Night City, where Cyberpunk 2077 is set, and as a Rockerboy he uses his music to entertain and to fight authority. Silverhand really has it in for Arasaka, a corporation who Silverhand blames for the loss of his arm and the death of some of his loved ones. Cyberpunk 2077 will look closely at the districts and factions of Night City, as well as at the corporations’ shady dealings and Silverhand could potentially be part of that.
However, some fans aren’t so sure that the character Reeves is playing is the real Johnny Silverhand. In the Cyberpunk 2020 board game, Silverhand died in 2024 which is 53 years before Cyberpunk 2077. In the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo released last year, a radio station also said that it had been a year since Silverhand’s “last ride.” CD Projekt RED may not be following the board game’s lore so closely, but that would still mean that Johnny Silverhand has been dead for one year, not 53.
Another possible explanation is that Silverhand is just a holograph. Some frames from Cyberpunk 2077‘s E3 2019 trailer seem to show Silverhand looking a little transparent. That could be because V’s eye augmentation isn’t working correctly, or because Silverhand really is a holograph. Cyberpunk 2077 does have some strange parts to it and as a sci-fi game, it can get away with doing things such as a holographic rockstar Keanu Reeves so this could be an accurate suggestion from fans.
Whatever way Silverhand is in the game, fans of the Cyberpunk series will be glad to see him starring in the game in some capacity. Not only is Silverhand a fan favorite character being played by a Hollywood actor, but he could also be a great ally if V’s companion Jackie really is dead. The loss of Jackie may be sad but it’s difficult to be too upset about it when augmented, and virtual Keanu Reeves has your back.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases April 16, 2020.

Don’t spend $400 on a Cyberpunk 2077 jacket, CD Projekt Red says
“The plan is to have a similar version in our store.”
Cyberpunk 2077 swag jackets from E3 have been popping up on eBay, where they’re selling for hundreds of dollars. But CD Projekt Red says you shouldn’t buy one—at least not yet, because a “similar version” will be available for less from the developer’s store at some point.
The jackets, which you can see being modeled by Hideo Kojima here, have sold for around $400 on eBay, although new listings are inviting offers between $200 and $300. The jackets are reversible, black on one side and yellow on the other, and the black side sports the logo for the band Samurai, of which Keanu Reeves’ character Johnny Silverhand is the lead singer. You can see some of the completed eBay listings in the picture below.
Rafal Jaki, CD Projekt Red’s business development director, pleaded with fans to hold onto their money. “The plan is to have a similar version in our store,” he said on Twitter.
