Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Have Loading Screens

A team member from CD Projekt Red declares that the video game studio’s forthcoming open world action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will not have loading screens.

Whether it was returning franchises or the slew of exciting new intellectual properties on display, there was a lot on-hand to experience at E3 2018, and we consider CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 to be one of the best games at this year’s expo. Now, it sounds like the project could be even better than we initially imagined, as a team member for the developer recently declared that the forthcoming open world action-RPG will not have loading screens.

This much was stated by CD Projekt Red’s Associate Design Director Kyle Rowley, as he was asked in Cyberpunk 2077‘s official Discord server whether or not the game would contain “loading screens from area to area”. Interestingly enough, this led Rowley to reply that the action-RPG will have “no loading screens after the initial load into the game,” potentially signifying that the whole experience will somewhat seamless.

Considering all of the technical and gameplay details that have been released thus far, the removal of loading screens after the initial booting up of Cyberpunk 2077 ought to be an incredibly wonderful sight to behold. After all, as evidenced by our gameplay demo of the action-RPG, Cyberpunk 2077‘s in-game environments are densely populated and incredibly detailed, so an uninterrupted flow of action will definitely be an impressive feature to experience.

Taking everything into account, Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely shaping up to be one of the most unique-looking and intriguing games in development, and this has understandably caused fans to clamor for any information related to when it officially hits store shelves. Unfortunately, though, CD Projekt Red has yet to announce when it will launch. With this being the case, some have speculated that Cyberpunk 2077 might have a potential release date set a few years from now.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but lacks an official release date.

Cyberpunk 2077 developers: “You haven’t seen anything yet”

Despite two gameplay showcases, a lot of screenshots and several trailers, Cyberpunk 2077’s Level Designer Miles Tost and Quest Designer Philip Weber claim that players have not seen anything yet, hinting at a gigantic scale of their upcoming game.

Not a lot has been said about Cyberpunk 2077 since the delay, despite all the hype surrounding the game. On top of this, the cancellation of the biggest gaming events such us E3 2020 also slowed down the hype since many expected to see new gameplay and more in June.

However, at CD Projekt Red, the developers are working in full speed on bug fixing and optimisation in order to launch the game in the best possible state in September. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the team switched to remote work but according to Senior Level Designer Miles Tost and Senior Quest Designer Phillip Weber, the devs are actually enjoying working from home and are highly productive in an enjoyable atmosphere.

Speaking in Gamestar.de podcast , Tost and Weber touched upon many subjects, from the quality control to how testing Cyberpunk 2077 prevents them from playing DOOM Eternal. However, the duo also mentioned one interesting thing about the game and the footage that they released until now.

When asked to share some fresh information about the game on the podcast, (translated by Aaronon2200 ) CD Projekt Red developers emphasized how despite all gameplay footage, screenshots and other trailers, people still have not seen anything.

Of course, this probably won’t come as a big surprise to many players who can’t wait to start exploring the Night City. The team are yet to fully reveal many features like character creation, skill trees, weapons, vehicles and the city’s districts and no wonder why Sasko and Weber are teasing more reveals.

All in all, we hope that more Cyberpunk 2077 content will start to surface pretty soon since players have been craving for more trailers and gameplay since the Deep Dive video back in August 2019.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in the final stretch of development, The Witcher series surpasses 50 million sales

CD Projekt RED announced in its financial report that Cyberpunk 2077 has entered its final stretch of development. The game will come out on September 17th, 2020, and this development/status update more or less confirms that the game will meet that release date deadline.

“CD Project Red is carrying out with the final stage of development of its most expansive RPG to-date, Cyberpunk 2077. The game features a vibrant, high-tech open world, where players assume the role of V; a cyberpunk who has recently migrated to the most dangerous metropolis of the future: Night City. Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay follows the rules of the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG system created by Mike Pondsmith.”

Moreover, CD Projekt RED announced that The Witcher series has sold more than 50 million units. The first The Witcher game came out in 2007. Thus, it took the franchise around 13 years in order to surpass its 50 million milestone.

Over 50 million adventurers joined Geralt on his journey from Kaer Morhen to Vizima, through Flotsam and Vergen, Velen and Novigrad to Skellige Isles and Toussaint, and many, many more places, time and time again…

CD Projekt RED has also released a sales infograph for The Witcher series. As we can clearly see, the release of The Witcher 3 gave the team a big boost.

Lastly, and as we’ve already reported, the PC version of The Witcher 3 is selling great. According to CD Projekt RED, most of the game’s sales these days come from the PC version. Additionally, The Witcher 3 has sold around 28 million copies, accounting of more than a half of the series’ total sales.

Since The Witcher games were a huge commercial hit for CD Projekt RED, it will be interesting to see whether we’ll get another one. CD Projekt RED claimed that it may, one day, return to this franchise. However, don’t expect a new game with Geralt. After all, Geralt’s story has ended.

Following the newest Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal, CD Projekt RED’s developers took the stage on Twitch to talk about the game.

We learn some interesting details about what we saw from Senior Level Designer Miles Tost, Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko, and Quest Design Coordinator Philipp Weber.

You can find a summary of what was shared below.

  • The districts of Cyberpunk 2077 are as different as possible without being unbelievable. This isn’t just for the sake of variety, but also intended as a navigational tool.
  • Each district has a dominant gang.
  • The district of Pacifica is dominated by the Voodoo Boys, which are actually deeply integrated with the community.
  • The Voodoo Boys have the reputation to be the best netrunners in Night City, and they have made cyberspace basically their religion.
  • Haiti is flooded, which is why the people which used to live there have mostly settled in Pacifica.
  • Each sitruation in the game can be solved in several different ways, with many different gameplay approaches. The player has many different tools to solve an issue or bypass it.
  • There are consequences to the choices the player makes. They’re not only affecting the current quest but also the story.
  • Quests are iterated upon a lot by the developers, providing designers with new ways to approach issues and interesting consequences to implement.
  • There are many different kinds of vehicles in the game. Some are simply very utilitarian in how they’re built. On the other hand there are super-luxury high-end vehicles. Players are limited only by what they can afford.
  • There are both cars and bikes, on top of “surprise” vehicles that haven’t been revealed so far.
  • The super-high echelon of society has flying vehicles, and players will be able to ride some of them through story moments.
  • Fast travel is possible.
  • The development team has actual city planners at work on designing the city, the traffic flows, and elements of that sort.
  • Most districts have “fixers” that can give you jobs. They may contact the player and give them quests.
  • Some of these jobs are “street stories” which appear on the player’s map.
  • The map is really immersive. It’s a cool-looking point cloud version of Night City.
  • There is always a reason behind quests and tasks to perform in the city. Street stories are basically a representation of V’s job. They’re a different way to feel immersed in the city.
  • Each Life Path defines the beginning of V’s story. You’re a completely different person in a completely different place depending on which one you choose. It carries over through the whole story, from the very beginning through the very end.
  • They let you unlock side branches in the dialogue and at times in whole quests.
  • Attribute points define the core characteristics of your V. Skills define the proficiencies and what your character can do. Perks add more depth on top of that.
  • Cold Blood (based on the Cool attribute) is a skill that allows you to survive in tough situations. It gives you a boost in damage when you’re in a pinch. Using that skill over and over lets you evolve it and pick different perks.
  • If you add specific perk to your Athletics skill, it lets you carry bodies without being slowed down.
  • The “Cool” attribute indicates how cool you are under pressure.
  • The inventory is where you manage your style. The developers are aware of the usual conflicts between stats and looks in many games. They teased that they’re working on solving the issue so that you can look the way you want to look and still have the best stats you can afford.
  • Cyberware can be enhanced. For instance cyberlegs can be customized to let you jump while emitting less noise for a stealthy approach.
  • Shorts let you experiment with Cyberware without actually needing to equip it.
  • There are multiple ways to acquire and enhance cyberware, including the Ripper Doc and the Street Cred system which can open up different vendors and services, including new cyberware.
  • Building a netrunner character lets you be very creative in how to solve situations. If you hack an access point you can use quickhacks. Depending on where you are, you can do different situational things with that.
  • You can play the whole game without killing a single person. Every player can do it and you don’t need to be a netrunner to achieve that. At times it reqires thinking about it and finding a solution.
  • The developers tried to find way to avoid punishing players for their choice of playstyle.
  • A Solo build can be strong or fast (or a mix or the two). For instance, strong solos can rip weapons off turrets. Fast solos have a lot of traversal skills and can access areas that others can’t.
  • The Technie is the third basic archetype (besides Netrunner and Solo) and they dabble with hardware. They can use a Flathead, which is a spiderbot that can be controlled remotely and do things for you like manipulating devices or engaging enemies in combat. It also has customization options.
  • Archetypes are just basic setups, and you can freely create hybrid builds between them.
  • Guns are divided in three categories: smart guns, tech weapons, and power weapons.
  • There is a weapon that starts shooting bullets slowly and then accelerates the longer you shoot.
  • There is a class of guns created by a Russian company purpose-made to fight cyberwear.
  • Some weapons have secondary firing modes.
  • There is a shotgun with eight barrels.
  • Every gun manufacturer has its own history and lore. Everything is rooted in the world.
  • There are a lot of different melee weapons. Some can be thrown and you can specialize in melee weapons. You can play a cyberninja and there are various different katana available.
  • There is also cyberware dedicated to melee. One specific cyberware enhances your reflexes with the effect that you perceive time as slowed down.
  • You can breach a squad’s network and use a demon software to hack their cyberware. For instance you can make them pull the pin of their own grenade or simply shot themselves. The nanowire allows you to do it from a distance, while otherwise you need to take down an enemy to gain access.
  • Each playthrugh of the game will be very unique. No playthrough will be like the others.
  • There are two major ways to customize guns. The first is cosmetic with various paint jobs and decals. The second is attachments that can boost the stats and add functionality like optics and suppressors.
  • The more you use a gun the better you become at using it, and this changes the animation for reloads and handling. Increased accuracy will also make your crosshair become smaller, reducing bullet dispersion.

Earlier this morning we also got some comment from CD Projekt’s executives about the early pre-orders of the game and expectations for sales.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 Driving Will Be More Realistic Than GTA Games

CDPR has not been talking much about Cyberpunk 2077 but we do have some new details regarding the game. In a recent developer Q&A event held in Poland, the devs talked about the driving in the game. CDPR mentioned that the driving mechanics in Cyberpunk 2077 will be better than GTA games.

Devs mentioned that even though the car physics and other mechanics will not be totally realistic they will be better than most games that we have seen. Here is with CDPR had to say in this regard:

aiming to make the car physics, while not on the simulator level, definitely more realistic than in something like GTA.

The devs have talked about cars and car customization before. Players will be able to drive cars and bikes. Players will also have access to garages where vehicles can be saved and stored. Car customization has not been confirmed but CDPR has mentioned that there is a team looking into it.

Driving is going to be the main way in which players are going to move around in the world so it has to be perfect. This is an open-world game so players will be using vehicles and driving in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

The game is also going to have car racing which will be very interesting indeed. We have already seen such things in GTA games but the implementation could be much better. Here is what CDPR had to say about car racing in Cyberpunk 2077:

car racing minigame is not going to be just a traditional car racing, they will also add some kind of extra Cyberpunk touch to it, which should allow us to really test the speed limits of our cars.

It has also been confirmed that the game is going to have a multiplayer part but it is early in development. We are not sure what the multiplayer side of the game is going to be like but it is an interesting development. We will be able to learn more in early 2020.

In other news, it has been confirmed that Mike Pondsmith is in the game. CDPR has confirmed that the game is not an extension of its own vision but is based on Mike’s vision. So it will stay true to the lore that we know and love.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have AI Uber Self-Driving Cars

Now that we finally know when we’ll be getting our hands on CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated futuristic RPG, the devs are beginning to roll out more and more information about the game. We have already learned that Keanu Reeves will be featured in Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to go outside of Night City, there will be multiple endings, and so much more. In addition to this, UI coordinator Alvin Liu spoke with Prima Games recently to discuss the upcoming title, including the fact that it will feature an AI Uber service to help players get around town.

As we have seen in the footage released so far, there are going to be plenty of vehicles for players to get their hands on. The apartments in Night City will have large garages so one will be able to collect some of these automobiles. However, there may be some times where you don’t want to get behind the wheel. Maybe you have some business to handle but need to get somewhere. Whatever the case may be, there will be some AI self-driving cars that can get you to where you need to go.

“We have an AI robot Uber self-driving car service, so if you hate driving, you can just call your local AI and have them pick you up,” Liu said. It is definitely worth noting, however, that this service will come at a cost and the debt can pile up pretty quickly, according to CD Projekt Red.

Either way, players will get to experience all of this for themselves when Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more on the upcoming game:

So, we can hope they’ll still clean it up in the seven months that the game still has left in development.

According to what I have been following the driving mechanics are still being polished, and there is contradictory information about it. As I mentioned in another post one bit of gameplay footage shows “V” driving his car along, leaning outside with a pistol and taking out some gun men in a van before shooting out the tire and sending it off the road. CPR has insisted many times that this is not a “shooter” or “action game” and is at it’s core an RPG, and from the way the scene looked i doubt the player controlling that scene was both controlling the car, and doing precise aiming with the gun at the same time. This leads me to believe that the car likely auto-drives when you shoot or something like that.

I have also been hearing that “V” can choose various distinct “classes” or “builds” each of which does different things and the game was carefully designed to avoid making any of them obselete. This leads me to believe that a lot of the gunplay (which they have told journalists cannot be compared to shooter games like Titan Fall, as this is NOT a shooter game but an RPG at it’s core) is actually being governed by invisible mechanics, as opposed to player skill. love it or hate it. I could be wrong but right now I am thinking of the original “Mass Effect”. Simply put if player skill is a big factor in terms of things like driving or shooting it would make classes like “Solo” pointless as someone could just play a nerdy “Netrunner” and compensate for the classes’ supposed weakness with their innate mad skills, making the combat classes useless for a good number of players. Strictly speaking the impression I get is that a “Solo” does the gun stuff mostly, and while a Netrunner can carry like a pistol or monowire, they are mostly based around using the environment and such, one example from demos is being able to hack a robo-boxer to take out a nearby thug for you, so you don’t have to personally attack the guy (which is apparently not exactly in the wheelhouse of a Netrunner “V”).

Right now they are saying you can control all the vehicles as of my last reading, but my overall impression is that I don’t think this is anything like “Grand Theft Auto”, and while we have seen vehicle based action (described above) it’s apparently not a major theme of the game, bikes and cars largely being used to rapidly transport from one part of “Night City” to another. Apparently there are also very few vehicles around, but this fits the overall setting as
I understood it. In general you should not expect crowded streets like a modern “crime” game, and it seems unlikely that there will be a lot of missions about stealing cars or whatever. though like everything I could be wrong, since this is just pieced together from various places covering the game. It would not surprise me if there is an “auto drive” feature in the game, in addition to the car following the road automatically if you lean out to shoot, I say this because CPR seems to have made a number of comments about this being first and foremost an RPG, both so RPG players (who they see as their core audience) will not be chased away, and presumably because they don’t want primarily action players to buy the game under false pretenses and be upset (I personally don’t care much either way). Any way it goes from the way they are talking i do not expect a lot of intense driving action, or the kind of intense “twitch based” firefights that come with FPS and TPS games.

While not proven one comment I heard second hand was that CPR when asked how the game compared to “Deus Ex” were quite blunt in saying this game was very different, and one of the major differences is that it’s far less action oriented, but has a much deeper, and more interactive world for you to proceed through.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Self Driving Cars

You can’t accuse Cyberpunk 2077 of being stuck in the past. But now it has been revealed that it will be channelling its inner Tesla with self driving cars, which you can summon from wherever you happen to be.

That means you can park up and wander off without worrying about misplacing your loyal metallic steed. And you won’t upset someone by smashing in their windows as you “borrow” their ride. Unless you want to, that is (I don’t think petty theft has been ruled out of Cyberpunk 2077?).

Pawel Sasko, the game’s lead designer, told VG247:

“So basically, because those cars are equipped with AI, if you call it, you can see the car driving towards you.

“So you can see when it arrives, basically. You can see as your motorcycle arrives, you can see as your car arrives. So you can just leave it wherever you want, it can go somewhere, just call it, and AI makes it like ‘bzzt!’, he drives by and waits for you.”

It didn’t take long for the gaming community to draw comparisons with The Witcher 3’s horse summoning feature, whereby a whistle caught the attention of Roach and sent him galloping towards your position. But where as both titles feature horse power as their main mode of transport, Cyberpunk 2077 has a few more bells and whistles under the hood.

In other transport related news, we also found out that we won’t be physically steering the flying cars. Instead, if you happen to find yourself buckled in to their vertigo inducing ride, the computer will remain completely in control.

One of the most exciting games that was showcased at E3 this year was Cyberpunk 2077. We’ve already been able to learn a lot of new details about the game, but there is still a lot we don’t know. While we know that you will be able to drive vehicles in the game, we’ve wondered just how much freedom you will have to cause chaos in the streets.

In the Grand Theft Auto games, causing chaos while driving is one of players’ favorite pastimes. It makes sense that players would also want to do this in Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. In an interview with Eurogamer, the developers were asked just how much chaos can be caused while driving around.

The developer responded by saying, “You can cause a decent amount of chaos. We’re not ready to talk about exactly how those systems are going to work, but you can cause chaos. You can run over pedestrians. However, it’s not the game of that. It’s the game of being a mercenary. We’ll have more to share later in that respect.”

It seems that causing chaos will definitely be an option, but it is not going to be the main focus. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Night City consta de seis distritos: Centro de la ciudad (donde se encuentra la sede de la megacorporación), Westbrook (habitada por los ricos), Pacifica (dominada por pandillas), Heywood (latinos anfitriones), Watson (donde los inmigrantes encontraron su nuevo hogar) y Santo Domingo (suministrando energía a la metrópoli).

Además de la exploración, el elemento principal del juego es realizar tareas ordenadas por personajes neutrales. Muchas misiones tienen una estructura no lineal, y cómo las realizamos depende de nuestras preferencias individuales. Podemos entablar conflictos abiertos con los oponentes encontrados (la lucha se asemeja a los FPS raciales), eliminarlos por sorpresa, buscar caminos tranquilos que conduzcan a la meta, o incluso negociar con el NPC para no buscar soluciones de fuerza. La piratería juega un papel importante aquí, que se aplica no solo a varios elementos del entorno (por ejemplo, sistemas de seguridad), sino también a chips en los cuerpos de personajes independientes.

Cyberpunk 2077 Detalles técnicos

Cyberpunk 2077 se basa en el motor gráfico RED Engine, que ha visto muchas mejoras con respecto a la versión Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Finalmente, cada personaje debe hallar su lugar en el mundo, ya que si no trabajas para las grandes organizaciones, no tendrás un lugar decente para vivir y tendrás que ganarte la vida haciendo equipo o tratos con aquellos que son como tú.

V, es el nombre del personaje principal y a quien el jugador dará vida dentro del juego. Al inicio del juego podrás elegir desde el género del personaje, su clase social e incluso una historia de vida.

Podrás explorar la ciudad utilizando toda clase de vehículos, mientras realizas toda clase de misiones que te ayudarán a mantenerte con vida.

En este videojuego encontrarás toda clase de personajes, como directivos de grandes corporativos, mercenarios, reparadores, médicos y por supuesto, pandilleros que pueden acabar contigo o robar tus pertenencias.

En un mundo con gran tecnología los implantes que agregan características especiales que le confieren a tu personaje habilidades como entender otros idiomas, visión de rayos x, para ver a otros a través de las paredes y algunos tan especiales como el llamado Kereznikov, el cual permite maximizar los reflejos de los personajes.

Las interacciones sociales entre los personajes pueden ser de todo tipo, desde ser enemigos, vecinos, compañeros y amantes, estos últimos pudiendo ser citas de una noche o relaciones largas que a la larga pueden llegar a beneficiar al personaje.

Finalmente, la apariencia del juego es una de las características que hacen que todos los que hayan vistos los tráileres, quieran tenerlo ya en su consola o PC, detalles extremadamente cuidados y llenos de color que harán que quieras descubrir hasta dónde puedes llegar con tu personaje y hacerte respetar en todo Night City.

No nos queda más que esperar a que el 2020 pase pronto y por fin conocer de primera mano Cyberpunk 2077.

¿Cómo instalar Cyberpunk 2077 en el PC?

Seguramente la distribución del videojuego para PC incluirá la opción digital. Por tanto, será necesario buscarlo en la tienda de aplicaciones de Microsoft, puesto que por ahora solo se ha anunciado para PC con sistema operativo Windows.
