Does Code Vein have romance options?
Companions are a critical aspect of Code Vein. They heal the player, distract potentially difficult enemies, and hit pretty hard in combat. Their constant dialogue may wear thin, but their usefulness outweighs their repetitive quips.
The ability to woo and establish a romantic relationship with NPCs is a common one. With Fire Emblem: Three Houses‘ success, romance is on everyone’s mind when starting a new game with detailed companion characters.
When a game offers AI characters as companions, one of the first questions fans ask is, “will there be romance?” The short of it is: no. There does not appear to be romance in Code Vein. Based on a similar question appearing as far back as 2018 and reappearing again during the beta in July 2019, and again as the official release neared, there is no indication of romantic potential with any of the companions.
Based on my, incomplete experience with the game and Reddit topics, you can cultivate friendships, but not romantic relationships with the characters.
It is mildly misleading to call it relationship building when it comes to companions and support characters at the Home Base. It serves a minor purpose, but a good one for the game. If the player character brings desired valuables to NPCs, they will receive higher quality items in return. For instance, if you give Coco her preferred items, she will eventually reward you with the Mercury Blood Code.
So while there is no indication of romantic options in Code Vein, you can befriend the characters for higher quality items.
Keanu Reeves is Not a Romance Option in Cyberpunk 2077
Ever since the E3 2019 reveal that Keanu Reeves would be playing the punk rock legend Johnny Silverhands in Cyberpunk 2077, and the subsequent reveal that he’d be the player’s closest ally throughout the game, one question has remained at the front of everyone’s mind: Can we smooch Keanu Reeves?
Prepare to be disappointed if you were hoping to lock lips with the sci-fi bard. According to an interview with Video Games Chronicle, you cannot romance Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077.
“Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can,” Cyberpunk 2077 level designer Max Pears told VGC.
Check out our recommendations for games to play before Cyberpunk hits:
The question came up as part of a broader interview about how Cyberpunk 2077 would handle character interactions with V, given that the player can be male, female, or somewhat gender fluid. CD Projekt Red is relying on the fact that you’ll always be referred to as V to help avoid moments of dialogue where the player character might be misgendered one way or another.
“We really want to make sure players get the representation that they want,” Pears told VGC. “In the genre of Cyberpunk as well, it asks such deep questions about what it means to be human, let alone what it means to define your gender. Having that customisation match how you feel is your representation of how you feel… it’s important for us and it’s important to the lore of this world too.”

All that said, Pears also mentioned that the genitals a character has will be determined by the gender they select at the beginning of the game.
“We have the body type that you select and then the genitals will be determined by that,” Pears said. “You can have a male or female voice with either body, but the genitals are defined by the body.”
In any case, if you were hoping to romance Keanu Reeves, you’ll have to look elsewhere. CDPR did say at E3 2018 that Cyberpunk 2077 would have more diverse romance options than the female-only selection of the Witcher 3. Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t locked to heterosexual romances
Cyberpunk 2077 is all about choices, even when it comes to romances
Cyberpunk 2077 is a huge sprawling sci-fi FPS built around massive reactivity and choice, and courting other superhuman cyborgs will be no different.
CD Projekt RED aims to go above and beyond with Cyberpunk 2077, making Night City a bustling haven of gritty crime, glamor, and colorful excitement. It’s a pretty nasty place that harbors prostitutes, murderous gangs, and the high-tech seedy underbelly of society. You’ll kill, hack, destroy, and manipulate your way across the living, breathing wonderland with its real-time AI. But that doesn’t mean true love doesn’t exist.
In Cyberpunk 2077, players will have lots of options of who they romance and attach themselves to. The studio confirms that as V., the pivotal protagonist, players can woo both male and female NPCs to create a vast inter-connected web of connections that will aid (or perhaps even hinder) your progression.
“So in terms of romances–you can think that it’s going to be similar to how The Witcher 3 was–there were whole plotlines regarding characters and whether or not NPCs were treated well and interested in Geralt. If they were, something was happening,” senior quest designer Pawel Sasko recently said in a Twitter DM.
“In Cyberpunk 2077 it’s going to be very similar.”
Since V. is an all-original character that’s ultimately defined by the player, gamers can choose to hook up with whomever they want in the game–provided the NPC is willing and attracted, of course.
“And of course players will have way more options than only heterosexual, as it was in the Witcher 3 (Geralt was a defined character who was only interested in females).”
“Here you can define what type of interactions your character prefers and have a relationship with that NPC/NPCs.”
It’s neat to see CDPR is putting this kind of dimension on even the courting and romances in Cyberpunk 2077. The team has certainly crafted one of the most interesting-looking games in recent memory, developing high-end tech that promises living, breathing cities with immersive real-time AI that are constantly moving, killing, and acting.
The game will be out on April 16, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Keanu Reeves aka ‘Johnny Silverhand’ Isn’t Available for Romance in Cyberpunk 2077
Ever since the very famous and beloved Keanu Reeves aka ‘John Wick’ made his appearance on the E3 2019 stage alongside Cyberpunk’s trailer as Jhonny Silverhand, Cyberpunk has been in the news since then and all for good reasons. CD Projekt Red is quite excited about the launch of its much-awaited title Cyberpunk 2077 which comes out on April 16, 2020. The company is actively engaging with the audience and has already given enough detail about the game including it recently released a 14-minute video during the PAX West event. The company even announced that the game will be completely first-person including the cutscenes. Moreover, the developers even Male/Female options in character mode. and further announced that the title will be featuring a smaller yet denser map than Witcher 3. Then just a few days back, the company announced that Multiplayer feature will also be included in the game. And now, here is yet another news as the company claims that Keanu is not one of Cyberpunk 2077’s romance options.
The news surfaced the internet during Tokyo Games Show when Cyberpunk level designer Max Pears told VGC: “Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.” He further added “That way it helps people know that it’s their character that’s being spoken to and also however you’ve envisioned your V, that’s still your V. That’s been our focus: your version of V is your version as the player and that’s how you will be addressed in the game.”
Cyberpunk’s release date has been scheduled as of April 16, 2020, and will be released for PlayStation 4, Windows PC (via GOG, Steam, and the Epic Games Store), as well as on the Xbox One. It will be further available on Google’s much-awaited cloud streaming platform Stadia.
No, You Cannot Romance Keanu Reeves In Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most hotly anticipated games, and one of the major reasons is thanks to the hype surrounding Keanu Reeves playing a major role in the game. However, CD Projekt Red has some bad news for eager players.
In an interview with Video Game Chronicle, CDPR is planning on making Cyberpunk inclusive of everyone, especially in the way NPCs refer to your character by not using gendered language. Rather, you’ll find yourself refered to as “V” rather than a gendered pronoun.
He said: “We really want to make sure players get the representation that they want. In the genre of Cyberpunk as well, it asks such deep questions about what it means to be human, let alone what it means to define your gender.
“Having that customisation match how you feel is your representation of how you feel… it’s important for us and it’s important to the lore of this world too.”
The designer added: “One of the things we’ve done to make sure the game addresses things a certain way is a lot of the time NPCs are just going to refer to you as ‘V’, because you won’t be able to choose your name.
However, the real bombshell comes from the fact that while many NPCs in the game will be options for Cyberpunk‘s romance system, Keanu doesn’t seem to be one of them.
However, one major support character will not be available for romance, said Pears: “Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Designer Confirms Multiple Romance Options in The Game
Cyberpunk 2077 Designer Confirms Multiple Romance Options in The Game
Cyberpunk 2077 is already one of the most highly-anticipated games coming next year, and it has been confirmed that, like CD Projekt Red’s other game, Witcher 3, you will be able to romance your way through multiple characters in the upcoming game. However, since Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to create their own character, you will not be limited to heterosexual relationships. The Witcher’s Geralt was a straight man so he could only entice the females in the game.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Lead Quest Designer, Pawel Sasko, confirmed this news on Reddit .
“In terms of romances, you can think that it’s going to be similar to how The Witcher 3 was – there were whole plot lines regarding characters, and if NPCs were treated well and interested in Geralt, something was happening here it’s going to be very similar.”
“Of course players will have way more options than only heterosexual as it was in The Witcher 3 (as Geralt was a defined character that was only interested in females),” he added. “Here you can define what type of interactions your character prefers and have a relationship with that NPC/NPCs.”
When Sasko was asked if it was possible to romance with Johnny Silverhands, the character played by Keanu Reeves in the game, but he declined to answer, said that CD Projekt Red did not want to reveal too many details as it would spoil the game’s story. “Johnny is an important character within the game,” he said.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. Keanu Reeves is playing a major role in the game.
CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 will be released on the Nintendo Switch.
Cyberpunk 2077 who are the romance options
Hmm yeah that’s true. I wonder if they’ll keep 14 as their primary MMO even for next-gen, of if they will ever consider another one. They already have a money machine with 14.
@Blaze: Doubt it, FF14 is still making Square enix mad money. Shadowbringers has brought sub numbers to it’s record numbers. Yoshida has said in the past Square has no plans for a new MMO atm. Just too expensive. A bit weary after FF14 1.0 almost killed Square AND the FF brand completely.
Yoshida and his crew saved Square and FF by coming in and making FF14 2.0 . So he has a lot of power in the company.
CD Projekt Red on Cyberpunk 2077 Romance Options, Nude Sex Scenes, and Gender
CD Projekt Red, the developers behind The Witcher trilogy, are renowned for their more mature approach to RPGs, especially where nudity and sexual content is concerned. Their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, even though it plays from a first-person perspective as opposed to third-person, will still retain that same level of maturity, right down to sexual encounters, nudity, and gender options. Video Games Chronicle recently interviewed the game’s level designer Max Pears at Tokyo Game Show 2019, who spoke in detail about these elements.
VGC revealed that all sex scenes will be fully nude in Cyberpunk 2077, holding nothing back as far as censorship is concerned (though that’s also another discussion for Sony). Pears went on to state that inclusivity is important, and the player character will only be referred to as “V” in the game.
“Having that customisation match how you feel is your representation of how you feel. it’s important for us and it’s important to the lore of this world too,” said Pears. “One of the things we’ve done to make sure the game addresses things a certain way is a lot of the time NPCs are just going to refer to you as ‘V’, because you won’t be able to choose your name.” He also added, “That way it helps people know that it’s their character that’s being spoken to and also however you’ve envisioned your V, that’s still your V. That’s been our focus: your version of V is your version as the player and that’s how you will be addressed in the game.”
Cyberpunk 2077‘s romantic options will be greatly expanded on versus The Witcher, meaning there’s more possibilities for romantic encounters than what we’ve seen in their past games. These romantic options will go beyond heterosexuality, as Cyberpunk 2077 allows for more than the preset male character of Geralt from The Witcher. However, he left us with one last stinger that we’re all sad to hear again: “Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.”
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
Romance in Cyberpunk 2077 goes “beyond heterosexual relationships”
Players can choose between fast-paced romances and long-term relationships.
Romance is a staple part of The Witcher series, with leading man Geralt partial to taking the odd tumble while out on his adventures. The scoundrel.
CD Projekt Red is going to take a similar approach to romance in its Cyberpunk RPG, although given how players will be able to create their own characters and choose their gender, things are going to be a lot less binary in the year 2077.
In our interview with writer Stanisław Święcicki, it was confirmed that players can expect plenty of romantic options in the game, with the studio hoping to facilitate relationships between the players and the characters they meet. That said, these relationships will be very much defined by the player.
“We plan to give you characters which you’ll meet on your path which will assist you, which will be your antagonist, and we want you to be able to develop emotional relations with them,” Święcicki told Gamereactor.
“And when it comes to the people you romance with, well. it’s a dark world and it’s a fast-paced world, so it’s up to you to decide whether you’re up for one night stands and fast-paced romances, or long-term relationships. And it’s going to be up to you, and because we’re giving you the opportunity to create the character you want and choose the gender it will go beyond just heterosexual relationships.”
When we’ll be romancing in Cyberpunk 2077 we do not know, but we’ll be able to do it on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Cyberpunk 2077 to Have Wide Range of Customizable Romance Options: “Similar to The Witcher, But With More Diversity”
Cyperpunk 2077 is without a doubt one of the more talked about games out of E3 and with more information that gets released, the better the anticipation, current case in point: diverse romance options.
Created by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG where you play as a mercenary named “V” that is customizable from head-to-toe and your choices will directly impact how people perceive you in the game. Red puts alot of the universe’s power in the hands of the gamer and this includes romantic relationships, which is a very popular aspect in The Witcher series and it seems that the company has plans to do the same with their new game. When asked, quest designer Patrick Mills had this to say:
“Similar to the Witcher, but with more diversity. There are a lot more options. You know, you’re defining your own character here, which means defining their sexuality any way you want. With Geralt, you had a character whose sexuality was very well defined by the novels and the short stories and the previous games. But in this one, it’s up to you to decide. We’ve got NPCs that are gay, we’ve got NPCs that are bi, we’ve got NPCs that are straight, because we want them to feel real and that they have preferences as well…We’re aiming for big, complicated relationships that continue over the course of the game, but also casual encounters that don’t matter that much.”
Because the game is still being finalized, Red was unable to give an exact number of how many romance options we can expect but that there will surely be more than enough to keep players happy.

CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have A Lot Of Romantic Options, Giving Gamers More Content To Look Forward To
Out of all the games that were featured this year at E3, Cyberpunk 2077 probably had the best showing. You can’t really lose when your game’s release date is provided by Matrix and John Wick star, Keanu Reeves. It was an amazing reveal that just showed CD Projekt Red is pulling out all of the stops for this first-person RPG. They deserve a ton of praise.
So far, we know when this game is coming out and have seen quite a bit of gameplay. The open-world environments that you’ll explore look so full of detail, which really immerse you in this world. We’ve also seen a little bit of the story and themes CD Projekt is going for.
Now, there was just conformation that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a lot of romantic options for players to explore. This is just another new layer that should make this RPG even more realistic and impactful. Players will have total control when designing their very own character, including their sexual preference. This will give rise to other relationships besides just heterosexual.
It’s an impactful design choice that we haven’t quite seen in many modern games really. It’s a great thing too because players with a particular sexual preference should be able to design their character’s sexual preference exactly how they see fit. It opens up so many doors and just promotes equality at the end of the day.
The romantic design of this game will be similar to The Witcher 3, only with way more options. This is incredible to contemplate. A lead designer for CD Projekt Red, Pawel Sasko, recently commented about the romantic options. He basically said there will be entire plot-points devoted to various NPCs falling in love with your character.
This could lead to all sorts of different branching points, whether players accept and start a budding relationship or move on to another NPC and cause jealousy within their inner circle. It doesn’t get any more realistic than this as far as first-person RPGs go.
Players will have that much more content to look forward to. Additionally, the added romantic options should make players more involved in their character. The decisions they make actually do matter on a romantic level. Who hasn’t wanted to fall in love in a video game? CD Projekt Red is taking romance to the next level and it will give rise to so many opportunities. It makes this game even more personal and meaningful.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance System Will Be “Very Similar” to The Witcher 3
Since last year it is a fact that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a huge variety of romance options; However, until today we did not know how its system would work. Fortunately, this changed today, since the studio already gave more details about it. Among them is that it will be a system similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
In the official subrecord of Cyberpunk 2077, a user posted a conversation he had with Pawel Sasko, Cyberpunk 2077’s lead quest designer. In it, the creative released important details about the romance system, making it clear that this is a feature that will result familiar to those who played the latest installment of The Witcher.
“So in terms of romances, you can think that it’s going to be similar to how Witcher 3 was…there were whole plotlines regarding character [romances] and if that NPCs were treated well and interested in Geralt, something was happening. So here it’s going to be very similar,” were the words of Sasko.
Later, the creative explained that there will also be differences. For example, in Cyberpunk 2077 the player will have the opportunity to choose the sexual orientation of his character: “And of course, players will have more options than only hetrose*ual, as it was in The Witcher 3 (as Geralt was a defined character that was only interested in women.) Here you can define what type of interactions your character prefers and have a relationship with that NPC/NPCs.”
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. What do you think about it, are you excited about the possibilities of having romances in Cyberpunk 2077? Tell us in the comments below.
