Cyberpunk 2077 Needs A Release Manager; According to Job Listing

Guillermo Ortega

If somebody asks us about our most anticipated games of 2019, probably we have to think quite a lot and then answer to the question with too many “if”s indicating that we know what games we are dying to play, but don’t when they are going to get released, and Cyberpunk 2077 is one of them, at least for me. The game was announced in 2012 and CD Projekt RED has been working on the game for all these years but still we have no exact release date for it, which is somehow kills me, but recently, the Polish studio has added a new position to its job listing, which may hint to proximity of release date for Cyberpunk 2077.

According to the job listing, CD Projekt RED needs a Release Manager for a full-time position in Warsaw. Here is the job description:

We’re looking for a quality-focused and well-organized Release Manager to support us on our current and upcoming projects and to take part in coordination of all global product releases.

Although it doesn’t determine any exact window for release date, but at least we can now think about late 2019 or early 2020 as the release window of Cyberpunk 2077. Based on the job’s requirements, everybody who wants to apply for the job, will have to coordinate a lot of important activities like communicating between development team with other groups such as publishers and external partners.

CD Projekt RED will be present at E3 2019 as its most important event to take part in so far. Along with Cyberpunk 2077, the studio is working on another AAA project and both of the games will be released until 2021.

Share your ideas about your guesses on the release date of the CDPR’s upcoming open-world action RPG with us through comments. You can also follow Gaming Instincts on Twitter to get news in an easier way.

Cyberpunk 2077 Features A Consequence System for Every Action

Except CD Projekt RED, nobody knows when Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive and although the mood of some fans waned a bit after the Polish studio confirmed that what has been seen so far is in the pre-Alpha phase of development, the hype for the RPG is still alive.

However, it seems that those responsible for the title have decided to torture us and as the weeks pass we know a little more of what awaits us in the Night City and recently Mike Pondsmith spoke about the system of acts and consequences that will shape the advance in the story.

During an interview with the LastKnownMeal YouTube channel, Mike Pondsmith, creator of the role-playing game of Cyberpunk 2020 and whose work is the basis of what we now know as Cyberpunk 2077, spoke about the consequences that some of the acts presented will have in the RPG.

In that sense, Pondsmith declared: “One of the binding philosophies of the game is that your actions have consequences. And that also goes back to the original sources in the tabletop game. In the tabletop game, there is no system for karma- good things, and so forth. But you can pretty much guess that if you blow away some guy in a gang, his gang’s going to remember, and they’re going to find you. That is realistic, that is the way things really go.”

Later, Pondsmith assured that the relationship between the acts and the consequences in Cyberpunk 2077 will not be presented in a simple way, nor responding to strong or compromising situations, because it can be something as simple as a consequence of ignoring or paying attention to a character: “Sometimes it comes and bites you in the butt in ways you never expected. We were kidding the other day in the office about that moment when you’re driving on the freeway, and somebody cuts you off, and you flip them off, and then you go into the bank, and there’s the guy you flipped off behind the counter! This sort of stuff happens!”

Cyberpunk 2077 is still without a release date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Can I Run Cyberpunk 2077?

The Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements have not yet officially been announced. These are the predicted requirements. The Cyberpunk 2077 demo at E3 2018 and 2019 give the clearest indication as to what the requirements are going to be like. In terms of graphics cards it was the GTX 1080 ti from the 2018 demo. The painfully expensive Titan RTX then follows in 2019. The powerful Intel i7-8700K 3.70 GHz seems to have been used for both of these demos. Quick and easy loading times were then provided by the Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCIe, which was the SSD for both demos once more.

Cyberpunk 2077 is all about an immersive and captivating RPG experience, so enough RAM for the game is recommended for increased fluidity. From simply a reading of 16 GB of RAM used in the 2018 demo, and then a higher and more specific G.Skill Ripjaws V, 2x16GB, 3000MHz, CL15 (32 GB) used in the 2019 one. Overall the information in the two different E3 demos are not the final recommended or minimum requirements at all, and should not be seen as such. However, it will definitely be the case that Cyberpunk 2077 will be somewhat demanding for your system, so those with lower end rigs must be prepared for either intricately altering the settings within the game, or purchasing new hardware to keep up.

Cyberpunk 2077 will run on PC system with Windows 10 64-bit and upwards.

Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date

What is Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 is a highly anticipated action RPG by CDProjekt Red, the creators of The Witcher game series. Set in the crime-ridden and densely realized Angel City, you get to choose how you intend to survive a world where flesh has bonded to metal and the difference between machines and humans is a fuzzy one. Will you face danger head-on with fists, fury and firepower? Or maybe it’s better to stay in the shadows and hack systems rather than destroy them? And why not a bit of both? In this strange, immersive future, the possibilities are endless.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Playable On GeForce Now At Launch.

One of the most anticipated launch titles of 2020, Cyberpunk 2077, will be playable through Nvidia’s streaming service GeForce Now for all subscribers, and will include ray tracing support. Developer CD Projekt Red has not yet released the official system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077, but if it’s anything like The Witcher 3, it will push high-end systems to its maximum and provide amazing visuals.

GeForce Now is a game streaming service. Where it differs from other services such as Google’s Stadia is that you don’t purchase games specifically for GeForce Now. Instead, the service links with existing PC gaming platforms such as Steam. This allows you to stream the games you own onto any PC. You can stream games for free, though if you pay for a GeForce Now subscription, you will be able to tap into the ray tracing feature. GeForce Now memberships cost $60 per year.

Cyberpunk 2077, barring further delays, is coming to PC and consoles in September. CD Projekt said last year that Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on Stadia at some point in 2020, but not until after its release on PC and console. The delay of Cyberpunk 2077‘s launch from April to September may have changed that situation, but a Stadia release date still hasn’t been announced.

So, what are your thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077 launching on GeForce Now? Do you think the game is going to be much larger content-wise and graphically compared to The Witcher 3? Personally, I think the launch of GeForce Now will make a huge impact on the gaming market and will allow games to progress visually. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.

CD Projekt RED encourages fans to design the Cyberpunk 2077 PC

April 7, 2020 By Chris Watson

The company responsible for The Witcher 3 and the long-awaited new futuristic title presents a contest to design the most futuristic and attractive PC case.

Creators of the celebrated and successful The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED have unveiled a new contest for the gaming community looking forward to their new futuristic action RPG. So much so, that the Polish company encourages its followers to design the final PC inspired by Cyberpunk 2077, a box whose design should represent the spirit of its new video game.

Cyber-Up Your PC! Cyberpunk 2077

Thus, this new contest is called Cyber-Up Your PC! Cyberpunk 2077 and we can already enjoy its brief presentation trailer under these lines, a promotion that starts today and through which participants can already send their designs and ideas to the company as sketches and renders that represent the best Your vision of what a Cyberpunk 2077-inspired PC should look like.

Thus, as pointed out from its official page, participants must meet the following requirements:

  • At least part of the design must be, or include, recycled material (for example, an old motherboard for decoration).
  • The design must meet one of our style guidelines and incorporate the logo of a megacorporación or a band, or a combination of both, of Cyberpunk 2077.
  • In Night City, the rich and the poor live side by side; highlight this contrast in your design.

On the other hand, its managers offer the opportunity to download a series of graphic resources so that participants can start working under the parameters shared by CD Projekt RED.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Can You Fail Quests & Is It Game Over

Home » Cyberpunk 2077 » Cyberpunk 2077 – Can You Fail Quests & Is It Game Over

It’s a safe bet to assume that, like the Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have a plethora of deep, engaging quests. So, the question presents itself: will there be some kind of fail state for the quests? And, for that matter, will failing the quests mean game over? Well, fortunately, CD Projekt Red has provided the answer.

Can You Fail Quests in Cyberpunk 2077?

Yes, you absolutely can fail quests in Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, odds are, you’re probably going to fail some of them, especially in your first playthrough, as you’re still figuring out the ropes. Maybe you’ll say a wrong thing because you don’t have enough information, or whatever it might be. However, according to a Q&A from CD Projekt Red, failing a quest does not mean a game over. The exact words, from Philipp Weber of CD Projekt Red, are: “Yes, you can fail quests. What we don’t have however is a game over state, the only game over that you will get is when you die. So when you fail a quest then it’s now part of the story, you have to deal with the consequences.”

So, there you have it. Fail a quest, and you won’t get a game over. But, it will carry consequences still. It will follow you in some way or another, haunting you all throughout the story, potentially. I’d imagine that failing a small side quest won’t affect the story too hard. But, if you mess up something more major, then you might suffer more. We’ll have to wait for the game to come out to know for sure, of course.

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to come out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Maybe even the next generation of consoles, depending on when exactly it launches. As of writing this article, we still don’t know exactly when the game is going to come out. Right now, there’s apparently only the skeleton of the full game, so it’s going to be a while still before we’re able to get our hands on the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Is First Person, Has Nudity And Is Very Much Mature

Fans were beside themselves with excitement when the trailer for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 was shown at E3 2018. It also turns out that, although there is some of the Witcher DNA in the game, it very much its own expansive beast.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Let You Customise Your Character’s Genitals

New Brutal Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Footage Released

Many fans of CD Projekt Red’s previous games have found themselves disappointed when it was revealed that instead of the “traditional” third person perspective The Witcher III had, Cyberpunk 2077 will be mostly played in a first-person view. And while there will be loads of shooting stuff, CD Projekt Red has insisted that this is still very much an immersive RPG in the same vein as The Witcher III. In their opinion, it’s even more so as the first-person perspective will allow players to be even more immersed in the game. This makes a lot of sense when viewed out of this perspective as first-person games can be more immersive if handled correctly.

This immersiveness carries over to the game’s dialogue system, which sees dialogue options popping up when looking at a character. And although that character can continue to talk to you as you look and move around, the dialogue seems to take place in real-time and the dialogue options disappear once you stray your view from them. This helps make interactions between the player and NPC feel more natural rather than stilted.

So what will prevent Cyberpunk 2077 from becoming a mindless shooter? The care and attention the developer put into creating interesting strategic choices during combat. Further, players will also have a variety of abilities like hacking their enemies or slicing them with their elbow blades. Truth be told, it sounds a lot like the recent Deus Ex series.

There will also be driving sections in the game, although how much driving the developer has not confirmed. What is clear is that they want the player to explore the intricate world on foot and will probably limit the time you can spend using a vehicle.

As with previous games, Cyberpunk 2077 is also for a mature audience. Those that were lucky enough to have seen some actual gameplay at E3 2018 have reported that the game does contain its fair share of nudity (full frontal), swearing and gore. Players will also be able to create a customised male or female character and, as with The Witcher, will be able to spread the love through romantic options available to them.

Cyberpunk 2077 recommended specs

Typically, a gaming company inflates its system requirements for a game before release. This has been the case in a lot of titles in the past that ran just fine on older hardware. However, Cyberpunk 2077 is gearing up to be an IMPRESSIVE title. A massive open world filled with people, vehicles, buildings, various little bits of detritus and debris that all has real physics and geometry, incredible lighting systems in an entire city.

Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely going to be extremely demanding. However, because it’s using an updated and modified RED Engine, similar to the engine used in Witcher 3, I believe that it will be very well optimized and run on a bevy of hardware.

Now, there have been some very bad rumors going around saying you’ll need an i7 and a 1080 ti to run the game. You should not believe these rumors, they were taken from the specs used to run the game at E3 last year for the demo. Cyberpunk 2077’s official system requirements have not been released to the public, yet.

You will definitely need a 64 Bit Copy of Windows 10 to support Direct X 12. As we do not yet know what API’s Cyberpunk 2077 will support, however it will have Ray Tracing, which requires DX12. (Though is only optional. The game may still support DX11.)

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K OR AMD FX-8320
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770/960 OR AMD R9 380x (4GB versions)/5500 XT
VRAM: 4GB
RAM: 8 GB RAM
Storage: 70 – 80 GB Hard drive space

These system requirements should allow you to play the game at 1080p with at least 30 – 60 fps on all low settings.

If you want to play on ultra settings at 1080p and maintain a constant 60 fps, you will need some serious horse power, I think. (But still not an i7 9900k and a 1080 ti.)

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K OR AMD Ryzen R5 1600
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660ti/1070 OR AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT**
VRAM: 6GB
RAM: 16 GB RAM
Storage: 70 – 90 GB Hard drive space

**UPDATE: I have included the new RX 5xxx series GPUs as the recommended system requirements after watching benchmarks on them. At the time of this writing, only the 5700 XT existed. I firmly believe the 5600 and even the 5500 would be capable of playing Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p very easily.

Of course if you have anything in between these specs you will be fine in running the game. Maybe if you had a 1060, or a 480, or a 580, or something similar. You should not worry about running the game at 1080p.

Now, 1440p and 4k, those are completely different stories. I would not be surprised if a 1080 ti was required for 1440p 60fps on ultra settings. And an RX 2070 with Ray Tracing enabled.

Please share this thread with people who are concerned with their systems and running this game. You still have ten months to upgrade and build a new PC. I am confident that CD Projekt RED will deliver a well optimized, enjoyable experience.

These predicted system requirements come from years of PC Gaming, building PCs for myself, and other people, and playing and testing games on a vast number of systems and configurations.

Development

Cyberpunk 2077 entered pre-production as soon as developer CD Projekt Red had finished The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine. Around this time, approximately fifty staff members were involved; they later devoted a team larger than that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and after it was released, began upgrading their REDengine 3 to complement Cyberpunk 2077.

Can my computer run Cyberpunk 2077?

By Cliff Henjum June 17, 2019

Cyberpunk 2077 pretty much won E3 2019 with its full trailer and introduction of Keanu Reeves being an important character throughout the story, so now it’s got everybody asking “Will my PC be able to play Cyberpunk 2077?” At first glance, the game looks absolutely breathtaking, but so far we’ve only really seen cutscenes so it’s difficult to fully predict the end result of the graphics capabilities. CD Projekt Red gave the community a lot of information about the upcoming title, but the official system requirements are yet to be released.

Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed using the latest version (4) of REDengine which was also used for popular titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Although The Witcher 3 released in 2015, and Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t releasing until 2020, we can still use its system requirements as a basis for predicting the upcoming requirements for Cyberpunk 2077. While it’s a huge jump from the GeForce GTX 770 recommended GPU requirement, we believe that the minimum GPU for Cyberpunk might be somewhere closer to the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. This is a huge jump in GPU power, but with what we’ve seen from the E3 videos/trailers, it is plausible that players will need an epic computer to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077.

We will continue to update this page as the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 approaches. Stay tuned for up to date system requirement information.

Cyberpunk 2077 requirements for pc

First of all, let’s clear up some misunderstandings.

The systemrequirementslab website is wrong. These are not the predicted system requirements. These are the PC Specs from the demo at E3 2018. The demo was capped at 1080/30fps for consistency while playing for the press. It was an unfinished chunk of the game on rails, and does not represent the final product. CD Projekt RED has not officially released any system requirements.

The E3 2019 Cinematic trailer that we got this year was pre-rendered CGI, and is not in game graphics or engine. Confirmed by Pawel Sasko (lead quest designer for CDPR) it’s not even a cut scene in the game. It’s a representation of what could happen of the choices V could make in a mission in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out on current gen hardware. Including the Xbox One and PS4, confirmed by Alvin Lui (UI designer for CDPR). There are currently no plans in the works to bring the game to next gen consoles, but may be discussed in the future.

CD Projekt RED has stated on multiple occasions that optimization is a number one priority.

Currently, the most popular GPU among gamers is the GTX 1060. Knowing this, CDPR would target a general area where that falls in terms of performance and graphical capability at 1080p to run between 30 and 60 fps. They would NOT cripple their own sales on PC by making the game so demanding that only a fraction of PC Gamers could play it.

I have created (using various sources) a predicted set of both minimum and recommended system requirements, if you’d like to read them.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be a demanding game. Somewhat more than the Witcher 3, but it won’t be so far out of the realm of possibility that not even a 1060 or a 580 could handle it at 1080p.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K OR AMD FX-8320

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770/960 OR AMD R9 380x (4GB versions)

Storage: 70 – 80 GB Hard drive space

These system requirements should allow you to play the game at 1080p with at least 30 – 60 fps on all low settings.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K OR AMD Ryzen R5 1600

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660ti/1070 OR AMD Radeon RX Vega 56

Storage: 70 – 90 GB Hard drive space

These system requirements should allow you to play the game at 1080p highest settings and maintain 30 – 60 fps.

You can view the full thread and discussions here.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program Looks Amazing for A Fan Film

Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program, an incredible looking fan film based on CD Projekt Red’s anticipated upcoming game, just got a gorgeous trailer.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program is a fan film with a trailer that looks so good, it’s hard to believe it’s not a professional production. It’s the latest, and probably most impressive, in a long line of fan projects dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077 well before the game is even out. The hype surrounding the game has also led to fan art of The Avengers as Cyberpunk 2077 characters and even a PlayStation 1-style demake in Dreams.

It’s easy to see why Cyberpunk 2077 has inspired such a loyal fan base even before its release. While some players were initially against the idea of The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red turning to first-person, Cyberpunk 2077 previews have all but erased that concern. Cyberpunk 2077 aims to be a massively ambitious game with a fully realized Night City to explore and lots of wild ways for players to modify their characters through cybernetics and performance-enhancing drugs. Cyberpunk 2077’s release has already been pushed back once, now slated to launch in September, but CD Projekt Red says it will launch on time in spite of the havoc caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program. According to production studio T7 Productions, Covid-19 has kept the crew from shooting, so it may be a while until the film sees the light of day. For now, there’s still a gorgeous trailer to check out that should make the wait for the final product even harder to bear. Both Johnny Silverhand and Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist V appear in the trailer, portrayed by incredible lookalikes Ben Bergmann and Stylouz Cosplay, respectively. Between the trailer’s stars, fantastic fight choreography, and unbelievable special effects, Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program looks like it may be a high water mark for fan films when it’s finally released.

Of course, while the cast and crew of Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program are making a fan film, they’re certainly not new to filmmaking. They previously produced the lauded Darth Maul: Apprentice short film, with Ben Bergmann portraying the popular Star Wars villain. Ben Bergmann has even worked with CD Projekt Red before portraying Geralt of Rivia. CD Projekt Red has supported Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay in the past, and the new trailer got a nod from the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account over the weekend.

Seeing how good the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program is might make it hard to wait for the full film and the game it’s based on, but it’s definitely worth a look. It may still be a few months until Cyberpunk 2077 is released, but it’s not too early to start getting immersed in its neon-drenched world.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on September 17, 2020.

First ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Trailer Released Alongside New Details

CD Projekt Red has released the first trailer for its futuristic sci-fi RPG ‘Cyberpunk 2077.’ The CGI cinematic establishes a powerful tone, while new details from the developer help elaborate on the cybernetic storyline.

The new (and first) teaser trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 may be light on game details in its CGI sheen, but it compensates with powerful imagery: brutal public massacres; a terrorizing police force; a towering metropolis burdened by social upheaval; bullets crumpling and fragmenting at the touch of skin, the line between human and cybernetic demonstrably shattered.

It was released today by developer CD Projekt Red as a glimpse into what we can expect from the futuristic sci-fi RPG based on the Cyberpunk series of pen-and-paper games from Mike Pondsmith. Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed last May (although the title wasn’t finalized until October) as a mature-themed, deeply customizable experience set in the ultramodern, ultracorrupt open-world of Night City. And while the trailer doesn’t elaborate much on the initial premise, the CD development team has offered their own version of its chaotic events.

Here’s Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio, explaining how Night City’s “psychos” — violent humans driven to derision by abusing augmentation technologies — are captured and recruited by the MAX-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division) police force:

“The teaser shows how the Psycho Squad might acquire a new member. The Psycho Squad specializes in combating “psychos” — individuals who overuse implants and substances that boost or otherwise alter the human body. There comes a point when they overdose on these innovations, and their bodies start to rebel against their biological body parts as well as against all things organic around them. Simply put, they start killing people, who they now derisively call ‘meatbags.'”

“When a psycho goes on the rampage, strange things can happen. There’s going to be a lot of carnage, so the psycho might be taken down by regular police, but they’re not always able to get the job done. When things spin out of control, they call in MAX-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division), popularly called the ‘Psycho Squad’. And these guys are exceptional, these guys are crack troops. The fact that they’re proud of that name tells you a bit about their mindset. They wear a badge with their official emblem on their right sleeve, but their left is reserved for their unofficial Psycho Squad emblem. It’s primitively made and the image itself is on the crude side of things. It’s not unlike a badge special force operators might make and wear to distinguish themselves from the ranks of grunts in any theatre of war.”

It’s gritty stuff — just the kind of subject material we’d expect from the developer of The Witcher and The Witcher 2. But what is it that drives a society to such fringes, such cybernetic chaos? CD Projekt Red revealed just one of the trendy augmentations enthralling the residents of Night City: braindances. Braindances are digitally recorded memories, streamed into the brain via an implanted “BD player,” engaging a full spectrum of the senses: sight, sound, smell. and even touch. As CD explains, they’re a mixture of neat and nefarious, and a lynchpin of the augmentation debates swirling around Night City.

“The range of themes of these recordings varies from simple braindances made by megacorporations, which e.g. allow the viewer to feel the full experience of an explorer with all its thrills, sweats, smells, views, sounds and the real feeling of curiosity that pushes men to go beyond the horizon against fear and physical weakness. But there are also more controversial sides of braindance, because some recordings are created illegally in the underground. Entering the mind of a serial killer means not only seeing the monstrosity he performs, but also living his lust to kill and fulfillment.

“. Of course, just like every great new cultural movement, BDs have people who criticize them. Just watch these two guys arguing about this phenomena.”

Based upon the release date in the trailer — “when it’s ready” — and the lack of any platform commitments, we’re guessing Cyberpunk 2077 is still in the early phases of development. We’re guessing we won’t be playing it until the next generation. But with such time comes high hopes. 2011’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a profound success that brought the sci-fi augmentation RPG to gaming’s forefront, and indeed CD Projekt Red has cited it as one of Cyberpunk’s main influences (in addition to System Shock). How well the game fuses old inspiration with new innovation across a complex storyline, open-world gameplay, and thorough class and character creation will be something to watch for as we continue to unravel its secrets.

What do you think of the early details regarding Cyberpunk 2077?
