Cyberpunk 2077 E3 Teaser Trailer…and Keanu Reeves – Reclusive Fox

Cyberpunk 2077 trailer keanu reeves

Besides Animal Crossing, Cyberpunk 2077 dominated E3 for me. Keanu Reeves being revealed as Johnny Silverhand gave me a buzz like no other. I’d already been blown away by the teaser trailer, which not only looked incredible but also made me really excited for the story I will eventually be experiencing when the game is released on 16 April 2020. I don’t know what it is about Keanu, but he just makes everything better.

I’m sure you’ve seen it already, but if you haven’t the E3 teaser trailer is worth a watch. It gave me the same vibes as when Clarence walks into Drexl’s club in True Romance – you know shit’s going to go down and in an incredibly cinematic explosion of adrenaline.

A Perfect Tease

Honestly, graphics these days are almost too perfect, not that I’m complaining. The realism of the faces, the details, the artwork, music, setting, it really blows me away. However, as we all know, graphics aren’t everything. Thankfully I have full faith in CD Projekt Red ensuring the story will make the graphics a secondary feature.

Cyberepunk 2077 is on our day one release must buy list for 2020 and it’s now available for pre-order. There’s a Collector’s Edition that will come with a 10-inch state of the protagonist -V- along with a hardcover art book and a steelbook case. All of this and more is stored in a box designed to replicate one of the megabuildings from Night City.

But yeah, Keanu Reeves!! Wasn’t he just amazing at E3? I couldn’t quite believe he was actually there on stage, and the way he was welcomed on stage and interacted with the hyped crowd made me smile ear to ear. The rest of E3 was pretty lackluster (so disappointed by Bethesda) so a round of applause to Xbox for getting my undivided attention (with a nonexclusive title).

Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 Trailer with Keanu Reeves Reveal

The Collector’s Edition comes in an impressive box made to look like one of the megabuildings towering over Night City.

Accompanying the release date and pre-order news is a cinematic trailer, which offers a deeper look into the game’s story. In addition to his appearance and voice, Reeves is also providing full-body motion capture for the character.

Keanu Reeves To Play Johnny Silverhand In Cyberpunk 2077

Keanu Reeves is trying his hand at a different kind of on-screen performance as he’s set to play Johnny Silverhand in the game Cyberpunk 2077, which will be released next April.В

The John Wick star made an appearance on the Xbox stage at theВ E3 2019 Microsoft press conferenceВ in Los Angeles yesterday (June 9), where he announced he was stepping into the world of gaming.

Excited gamers got their first look at him in the new trailer, where he made an epic entrance towards the end.

Check it out below:

The game is an adaptation of the board game Cyberpunk and its sequel Cyberpunk 2020, made up ofВ an open-world adventure set in a fictional metropolis called Night City. The role-playing gameВ incorporated many cyberpunk tropes, such as cybernetic enhancement, devious punk-rock hackers and neo-noir aesthetics.

It’s been almost three decades since the release of Cyberpunk 2020 in 1990 and hype for Cyberpunk 2077 has been building ever since developer CD Projekt Red first released a teaser trailer for the game in January 2013.

Details remained minimal for a few years following the initial trailer, but lastВ year CD Projekt Red released its first public gameplay, with a 48-minute demo of the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 will pick up the series 50-plus years later, and the trailer shows V, the game’s protagonist, having a flashback of his friend dying. Back in the present he realises he’s been betrayed and has to use his cybernetic body to take out the bad guys.

Reeves appears towards the end of the trailer and seems to greet V as an accomplice, telling him they have a city to burn.

Silverhand, an iconic character from Cyberpunk 2020, will be non-playable in the game. Although he only makes a brief appearance in the trailer, Gamespot report CD Projekt Red has confirmed the character is ‘key’ to the story, suggesting players may see a lot of him throughout the game.

Speaking at E3 Reeves said he had to be part of the project, adding ‘the feeling of walking the streets of the future is really going to be breathtaking’.

The actor also announced the game would be released onВ April 16, 2020. CNet report it will be coming toВ Xbox and PC, with pre-orders currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of the game.

Hopefully the game will be worth the wait!

Cyberpunk 2077: Keanu Is Not Romanceable, And Gamers Are Heartbroken

Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 players won’t be able to romance Keanu Reeve’s character Johnny Silverhand in the upcoming RPG.

Keanu Reeves is a very breathtaking individual, having starred in some of the best action movies of all-time, including Speed, The Matrix, and John Wick. Of course, these are only a few notable movies from his illustrious career, which will soon include his role as Johnny Silverhand in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED. However, it should be noted that he won’t be a romance option in the 2020 game.

PC Gamer confirmed the disapointing news in their reporting on an interview between VGC and Cyberpunk 2077 level designer Max Pears. Pears and VGC had discussed the romance elements of Cyberpunk 2077, including gender and romance options and customization, as well as physical attributes.

Keanu is not one of Cyberpunk 2077’s romance options, if you were wondering

For example, the game is exploring relationships beyond heterosexual ones. It will give you the option of pursuing same-sex relationships and will include a variety of other options like body types and more.

There are, however, limits to the romance option. Silverhand, as mentioned earlier, will not be a romance option. Pears stated, “Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.”

This has come as sad news to some Matrix fans out there. Johnny Silverhand appears to be a very slick and cool character, so it would have been nice to be able to pursue a romantic relationship there. Some of those disappointed in the decision to make Johnny Silverhand a character unable to romantically bond with have voiced their sadness on Twitter.

Just found out Keanu Reeves isn’t a romance option in Cyberpunk 2077. Nobody talk to me.

Keanu Reeves is in Cyberpunk 2077 and confirms release date

June 9, 2019 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment ???? Links may earn ad money

It’s E3, and that means big trailers. We start with a great one as CD Projekt RED shows us Cyberpunk 2077.

The cinematic has examples of the sort of criminal double-dealing and betrayal you’re likely to encounter on the streets and of some combat hacking.

Reeves appeared on stage at E3. He said;

The guys from CD Projekt Red approached me and asked me to be part of their new project, Cyberpunk 2077,

They were going on and on about how they’ve created this vast open world with a branching storyline, how you’d be able to customise your character through in-game choices. And it’s not something I knew before, but I was excited by, and I’m always drawn to fascinating stories.

Cyberpunk! It’s set in a metropolis of the future. Where body modification has become an obsession. You play as an outlaw, an enhanced mercenary working in the sleazy underbelly of the city.

Let me tell you, the feeling of being there, of walking the streets of the future is really going to be breathtaking… [someone in the crowd shouts out “You’re breathtaking!”] You’re breathtaking! You’re all breathtaking.

Alright, alright, alright, so, I’ve got to finish this! So tell me, you guys wanna know when there’s, when… the release date? Yeah, alright? Then check this out!

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected out 16th of April. The game will appear on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC

Keanu Reeves Reveals His Character In “Cyberpunk 2077” Trailer

Until you’ve been remodeled in CGI plasticine, you don’t what it’s like to live inside a game cartridge. Keanu Reeves would be the fits to tell you, it’s no simple task. At this year’s E3 summit, Keanu was on hand to reveal his involvement in Cyberpunk 2077 – the latest video game titled produced under the watchful eye of CD Projekt Red.

The Polish game developer is widely regarded as an industry leader in the field of “creative role-playing” as illustrated by the success of their Witcher series, spanning 4 successive titles. Not only did Keanu Reeves reveal his own participation at E3; he also cut the red ribbon on Cyberpunk 2077’s flashy new trailer.

To everyone’s surprise (gathered in the crowd), Keanu was among the characters depicted in the game, or in the very least, an uncanny resemblance to a vigilante someone or other. Keanu’s unspoken mysticism seems to have played a role in preparing him up for his jump into the pixelated world.

As per Keanu’ speech notes, Cyberpunk 2077 players will be given the chance to assume the mantle of an “enhanced mercenary working in the sleazy underbelly of the city.” The game is slated for release on April 16th, 2020. Check out the theatrical trailer and hit us with your thoughts.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in April 2020, featuring Keanu Reeves

CD Projekt Red’s upcoming open-world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

At Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 presentation, CD Projekt Red released a new cinematic trailer of its upcoming open-world RPG Cyberpunk 2077. Followed by the trailer, the highly successful gaming studio brought in Keanu Reeves, who’s also playing a character in the game, to announce the release date. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on 16 April, 2020.

Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077.

Reeves is playing Johnny “Rockerboy” Silverhand who isn’t new to the game’s universe. This is yet another character who’s named John or Johnny that Reeves is playing. Silverhand was actually present in the previous Cyberpunk 2020 game that was released back in 1988. Thought to be dead earlier, it seems like good ol’ Rockerboy is back.

After the announcement of the release date, the store pages of Cyberpunk 2077 went live. Currently, there’s a Standard and Collector’s Edition. The Standard Edition costs $60 whereas the Collector’s Edition will cost somewhere around $250.

In the Standard Edition, buyers will receive a case with reversible cover art, a “world compendium” that gives information about the entire setting of the game, “postcards from Night City” stickers, and a game map. Digital goodies include the game’s official soundtrack, an art booklet, digital copy of the Cyberpunk 2020 PnP sourcebook and desktop and mobile wallpapers.

The ones buying the Collector’s Edition will be receiving awesome merchandise from the game, including everything from the Standard Edition. The additional items include a Collector’s Edition box, a 10-inch statue of V (game’s protagonist), hardback art book, metal pin set, embroidered patches and an annotated copy of “A Visitor’s Guide to Night City”, sealed inside an “NCPD Evidence Bag”.

Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on 16 April, 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. There won’t be any physical copies of the game for PC in the US. The physical copy is only present in the Collector’s Edition. However, countries where boxed PC games are sold (like India), a digital code will be present. The game can be pre-ordered on Steam and GOG, and it will soon be coming to the Epic Games Store.

Microsoft officially kicked off E3 2019 (EA held their own event this weekend which included the first Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay, but that was technically “pre-E3”) with their yearly showcase of upcoming games and more.

During their presentation a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, the highly anticipated next game from The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED, was shown. The cinematic trailer includes two exciting things: the long-awaited released date to mark on our calendars, and the surprise reveal of Keanu Reeves as one of the game’s characters.

You can check out the cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 below, along with more info on the game and a video of Reeves himself making an appearance after the trailer ended.

Night City, California. Year 2077.

The world is broken. MegaCorps manage every aspect of life from the top floors of their sky-scraping fortresses. Down below, the streets are run by drug pushing gangs, tech hustlers, and illegal braindance slingers. The in-between is where decadence, sex and pop culture mix with violent crime, extreme poverty and the unattainable promise of the American Dream.

You are V, a cyberpunk. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.

You can pre-order a copy of the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 now if interested.

You can also check out the previously released 48-minute gameplay demo and cinematic trailers if you missed them.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released to the masses on April 16, 2020.

NOTE: If the second video doesn’t do it automatically, the Keanu Reeves appearance starts at the 48:30 mark and ends at 51:20.

Mark your calendars — Cyberpunk 2077, the open-world, action-adventure story from CD PROJEKT RED, is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC April 16th, 2020.

About Cyberpunk 2077:
In the most dangerous megacity of the future, the real you is not enough. Become V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant — the key to immortality. Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Say It Was Either Keanu Reeves or No One

By Tanner Dedmon – June 16, 2019 05:44 pm EDT

CD Projekt Red’s biggest reveal from E3 was that Keanu Reeves would be in Cyberpunk 2077. It was an incredible moment for anyone who is a fan of Reeves or is looking forward to the new Cyberpunk game – an even bigger moment for the parts where those fandoms overlap – and according to the developer, they wouldn’t have anyone fill the role of Johnny Silverhand except Reeves. It was either going to be Reeves playing the character or else it would’ve been a traditionally voiced NPC.

Miles Tost, a senior level designer at CD Projekt Red who’s working on Cyberpunk 2077, spoke to Destructoid about the studio’s decision to have Reeves play a role in the game. Tost said that the goal for the character wasn’t to have any A-list Hollywood celebrity on board and that they thought Reeves would be a good fit for the role.

“It was either him or no one,” Tost told Destructoid. “That was our mindset. We didn’t think ‘We need a star for this role,’ but rather ‘Hey, he might be the perfect character’ and luckily I guess it all worked out for us.”

Tost continued to describe the relationship between the two parties and the decision from both to have Reeves play the role as “almost organic.” After designing the character and the story around the NPC, the studio felt it would be a “really cool” fit for Reeves to play the role.

Reeves obviously agreed to play the role as you can see in the trailer at the top if you didn’t catch it when it aired at E3. Tost has some ideas on why the actor might’ve agreed to the role.

“I’m just speculating, but he might’ve seen the similarities that we saw between him and [Johnny Silverhand] and that might’ve been attractive to him,” Tost said. “Besides, Johnny Silverhand, lead singer of the Samurai band, and one of the big rebels of the Cyberpunk universe. A legend. It sounds like a story that might be interesting to someone like Keanu.”

We’ll be hearing a lot from Reeves – or Johnny Silverhand, depending on how you prefer to look at the NPC – since he’s got the second most dialogue in the game. Reeves has since talked at length about his role in the game and said he doesn’t think games need celebrities to pitch in like he did for the medium to be legitimized.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms on April 16, 2020.

Keanu Reeves Is Set To Star In ‘Cyberpunk 2077’. As Expected, The Internet Is Losing Its Shit

With the John Wick trilogy, we genuinely thought Keanu has peaked at his action star stint. But he is so not done wowing us yet.

Source: Twiter

Just as we thought we’ve seen him do almost everything, Keanu made the most mind-blowing appearance in the latest trailer of the game Cyberpunk 2077.

The cinematic trailer features Reeves in the slickest motion capture avatar ever seen in RPG. He has also done the voiceover for his character in the game. We don’t know what character he is yet, but we’re pretty sure he’s badass as ever. Obviously!

After his brief appearance in the trailer, the internet was obviously losing its collective shit over the most magnificent action crossover ever.

A lotta dogs must die in CyberPunk for Keanu Reeves to get involved #E32019

Future generations will refer to 2019 as The Year of Keanu

i have no idea what cyberpunk is but if keanu reeves tells me we have a city to burn you best believe im breaking out the lighters and gasoline

WE love Keanu Reeves so much as a person that no matter where he is, we appreciate his presence.
Thank you for having him Cyberpunk 2077 😀

Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand is a digital ghost in Cyberpunk 2077

2019 is the year of Keanu Reeves. He’s seen kicking major ass in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and he was hilarious in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe. Soon fans will get to hear him in Toy Story 4 this weekend as Duke Caboom, the stuntman toy. When Reeves was revealed as a character in Cyberpunk 2077 during the Xbox E3 Briefing, the crowd went wild. To add icing on the cake, the actor himself stepped onto the stage to talk about his involvement in the highly anticipated first-person action RPG from CD Projekt Red. YouTuber Peter Sark shouted out from the audience, “You’re breathtaking!” Reeves shouted back with, “You’re breathtaking. You’re all breathtaking.” We know that he’s voicing Johnny Silverhand, but CD Projekt Red team is still quiet about other aspects of the character. However, we were able to get a bit more information during E3.

Cyberpunk 2077 will feature character customization, and last year’s trailer and demo featured the female version of V. This year, the focus is on the male version. A new trailer premiered during the Xbox E3 Briefing, and at the end, we see a mysterious figure standing above V. He takes off his sunglasses to reveal a familiar face. “Wake up, Samurai,” Johnny Silverhand says. “We have a city to burn.” Is he a friend? During the hour-long demo behind closed doors, we find out that Reeve’s character is actually inside V’s head. Throughout the demo, he acts as a conscience of sorts, especially during tense moments.

If you look at the trailer at the 3:45 mark, you’ll see a glitch, as if he’s not really there. It turns out that Johnny has been dead for quite some time. (He died 53 years before the events of the game.) He appears as a digital ghost thanks to a chip inside your head.

Johnny is a vital character and has the most lines, second to V. Keanu Reeves spent 15 days recording dialogue for the game, according to CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski during the E3 Coliseum chat with Geoff Keighley. We won’t complain about Reeves following us around everywhere we go. He even says during the character customization, “Come on, you really think they give a rat’s dick about how you look?”

At the end of the demo, it’s revealed that your character can enter cyberspace and into the deep net. Think of it like tapping into the Matrix. The small chip inside your head is just a small puzzle. A character in the game says that those who venture into the other side do not return. Of course, we’re thinking, what can happen there? If V does return, will the character become even more powerful? We’ll find out soon enough.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 16, 2020.

Keanu Reeves makes cameo in NSFW E3 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077

Is there a more hotly anticipated game at the moment than Cyberpunk 2077?

We’re gonna say no, especially as the CD Projekt Red developed game is mixing together a bunch of gaming genres, intense gameplay and stunning visuals into one NSFW package.

The team behind the game is also enlisting some A-list talent for the game, as we saw Keanu Reeves make a cameo in the latest trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 for E3 2019 over the weekend, also making an in-person appearance at the LA-based event.

In keeping with the game’s tone, the trailer (posted below) is suitably intense, but it’s unclear how closely it will stick to what gamer’s will experience when Cyberpunk 2077 launches on 16th April (PS4, Xbox One, PC) next year.

The main character is referred to as Samurai, but seeing as how you’ll be able to create either a male or female protagonist, it should be interesting to see if that moniker sticks depending on what kind of character you make.

Regardless, if the early footage we’ve seen to date is anything to go by, this game will feature some superb cut scenes.

Along with the Reeves cameo, we also got a look at the Collector’s Edition of the game, which has a certain GTA feel to it. To that end you get a map of the city, a figurine of your character (male only), a concept art book, steel book disc cover, a miniature car keychain and a few other things.

The Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order in select regions for an estimated $250. In SA we’ve seen it listed for roughly R4 599 across all platforms, with the standard version of the game already appearing on the likes of Raru for R999 on PS4 and Xbox One and R729 for PC.

We’re normally hesitant when to comes to pre-ordering a game, but Cyberpunk 2077 may be one of the rare occasions were we bite the bullet.

Cyberpunk 2077 Developer Gives Fans Great Update About the Game’s Development

By Tyler Fischer – May 30, 2020 06:21 pm EDT

CD Projekt Red has provided a great update for Cyberpunk 2077 fans hoping the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC game won’t be delayed again. During a new earnings call, the Polish developer confirmed the game is currently in the “final stage of development,” essentially confirming the game will hit its September release date. CD Projekt Red doesn’t elaborate on what the “final stage of development” is, but it’s presumably a stage of polish and squashing remaining bugs, the latter of which can be very time-consuming.

Beyond this little snippet, CD Projekt Red hardly mentioned Cyberpunk 2077 during its latest earnings call, but it did reveal it’s coming off its best year ever in terms of profit and revenue. In fact, the going has been so good for the Polish company lately that they are now the biggest gaming company in Europe, usurping the title from Ubisoft. It was also revealed that The Witcher series has passed 50 million copies sold, which is incredible since not that long ago it was a niche role-playing franchise.

Looking ahead, Night Wire City event is poised to go down on June 11. At the moment of publishing, CD Projekt Red hasn’t fully disclosed what the event is, but we do know it will have Cyberpunk 2077 reveals.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release worldwide on September 16 via the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. It’s also in development for Xbox Series X and PS5, but for now, it’s unclear when these next-gen ports will hit.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis
obsessed with power, glamour and body modification,” reads an official pitch of the game. “You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset, and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”

The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account courted controversy today after a tweet that some considered transphobic. This is not the first time that a CD Projekt Red-affiliated Twitter account has needed to apologize for a tweet.

Responding to a fan on Twitter earlier today, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account referenced an internet meme mocking transgender people.

“Did you just assume their gender,” the tweet said. The account was responding to a fan saying that they wanted more from the “guys” at Gamescom. CD Projekt Red is currently showing Cyberpunk 2077 at the event.

While the tweet is not explicitly transphobic, the meme being referenced is largely used to belittle or demean the concerns of transgender people. Much like saying how you’ve decided to identify as an attack helicopter is a way to mock transgender folks, this phrase is meant to mock the supposedly fragile egos of “tumblrinas” and social justice warriors. It’s not clear whether or not the employee responsible intended it as offensive. The tweet was later deleted and an apology issued.

“Sorry to all those offended by one of the responses sent out from our account earlier,” a tweet on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account said. “Harming anyone was never our intention.”

CD Projekt Red did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

By itself, this is just a PR faux-pas, but this is not the first time a CD Projekt Red-related Twitter account has posted questionable content. Last July, the official Twitter account for GOG, the game storefront owned by CD Projekt , tweeted an animated GIF from Postal 2: Paradise Lost depicting the main character urinating on a tombstone marked Games Journalism. The date on the tombstone, August 28th, 2014, was a reference to GamerGate. The tweet was later deleted.

At the time, I asked GOG’s Head of Global Communications Łukasz Kukawski about their vetting process for social media managers.

“There is no process per se,” Kukawski said via email. “We’re working closely in the team, and usually if there are any doubts regarding communication we simply talk about it. Unfortunately, sometimes things slip unnoticed, like in this case. Mistakes happen, we’ll just make sure they don’t repeat.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter Has Funny Reply to Drive-Thru Gentlemen’s Club

The Cyberpunk 2077 social media team has a little fun when replying to a story about a drive-thru gentlemen’s club in Oregon.

Although there are still over four months until Cyberpunk 2077 releases, gamers have been trying everything they can to get developer CD Projekt Red to release new info about the game. Typically, when the developer tweets anything the game, the common reply on social media is, “Please release more footage.”

Considering that CD Projekt Red has earned a reputation for honoring its player base with quality content and never trying to nickel and dime them, the developer takes the comments in stride. In fact, the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account even poked fun at the constant replies with a Tweet of its own.

During the current pandemic, there are many companies that are trying to earn business while adhering to the new guidelines about social distancing. Restaurants have had to turn to delivery and take out services to stay afloat, while other companies have had to resort to more drastic measures.

One “gentlemen’s club” in Oregon even opened up a drive-thru option where customers can pull up to a live dance display and get their money’s worth from their car. Since these exotic dancers also have to adhere to the guidelines for businesses, many of them are wearing gas masks, which adds a dystopian layer to the whole experience. Images from the club surfaced online to show how the Oregon business had adapted to the situation, and they coincidentally look like something right out of Cyberpunk 2077.

Not one to miss out on an opportunity for a little cross-promotion, the Cyberpunk 2077 account tweeted a reply to the message about the gentlemen’s club. As one might expect, the social media account said, “Please release more footage.”

Click the below reply to see the original tweet:

It’s a surprising response considering the original tweet’s content, but it is funny nonetheless. Some might think that the CD Projekt Red team is merely trying to get a closer look at the dancers, but those that follow the Cyberpunk Twitter account will recognize the in-joke.

As an independent developer, CD Projekt Red can get away with Tweets like this that are harmless and all in good fun. Bigger developers and publishers usually have to keep things as PC as possible and avoid anything that might stir up controversy. CDPR, on the other hand, embraces controversy at every turn.

This might also have been an opportunity for the Cyberpunk 2077 dev to assure its fans that the upcoming game will feature similarly mature content. A recent rating of the game from the Australia Ratings Board suggested as much even gave gamers some hints as to how mature the game may be.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases September 17, 2020 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.

Last week, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account announced something called ‘Night City Wire’, which is happening on the 11th June. Supposedly, it’s an online event (probably a stream of some kind) that’s going to provide us with a deep dive into the game. In other words, we could be getting an in-depth look at new gameplay.

In any case, expectations have been heightened by lead quest designer Pawel Sasko, whose enthusiasm for Cyberpunk 2077 is infectious. In response to Blizzard vice president Mike Ybarra expressing some excitement over the aforementioned Night City Wire, Sasko writes: “Each of you waiting for @CyberpunkGame make us even more motivated and hyped to deliver. Recent news is just a tip of an iceberg.”

With Cyberpunk 2077 still set to release this September — developer CD Projekt Red has reiterated multiple times that the date hasn’t changed — we could be in for several months of non-stop hype, and it’s all kicking off with Night City Wire in the near future.
