Blessed are the Meek

Gold Medal Checklist:

  • While escaping, kill all mounted lawman within 55 seconds
  • Get 15 headshots
  • Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

You’ll need to make the trip northwest to the town of Strawberry to find Micah locked up. The Gold Medal for this mission involves a lot of headshots while remaining accurate. For this reason, you’ll want items such as Snake Oil (it’s important you only recover Dead Eye, not health) or Chewing Tobacco to recover Dead Eye. Head over to the Jail and head inside to learn that Micah is indeed locked up there, head outside and over to the window to speak to him. There are a number of ways to break Micah out but the easiest and quickest is to use the nearby Steam Donkey by attaching the hook to the window and then pulling the lever.

The mission begins in earnest now, stay in cover at all times to limit how much damage you suffer and make constant use of Dead Eye to score headshots, you’ll need 15 of them throughout the entire mission. After the first wave, follow Micah to the right to begin taking out the next wave, pay special attention to the Lawman by the house to the right. Once you get to the bottom of this path, you’ll get a brief lull in the action, take this time to drink some Snake Oil to recover some Dead Eye before following Micah once more. The final wave involves Lawman in all directions but the most important is the one situated on the balcony of the hotel, if you’re not quick then he’ll kill Micah. Quickly jump on the horse to begin the final part of this mission where you’ll be hunted by mounted Lawman as you plan your escape.

There are four pairs of Lawman to take out as you make your escape and you’ll need to kill all of them within 55 seconds for the Gold Medal so Dead Eye is crucial here for the accuracy and speed. The first pair are located just as you ride out of the entrance of Strawberry, the second pair approach from the left as you make your way down the path. The third pair ambushes from the right and the final pair attack from the left at the intersection. Once the final pair fall, follow Micah to escape the law, he’ll hand over a Holster allowing you to dual-wield by way of thanks.

Red Dead Online Beta Update – Feb. 26 Update Summary

Red Dead Online 1.05 Update – Dec. 14 Update Summary

About Honor System (Online)

Learn about the differences in your Dead Eye Mode in Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2! Check out the ability card loadout, passive skills, & more!

Differences Of Dead Eye In Online Mode

Does Not Slow Down Time Online

Unlike the Dead Eye mode in single-player RDR2, Dead Eye in Red Dead Online does not let you slow down time. It does, however, trigger abilities & buffs from an Ability Card loadout.

Activates Buffs From Ability Cards

Dead Eye in Red Dead Online activates a series of abilities & buffs that affect your damage, health recovery, defense, etc. These are skills useful during precise moments in the gameplay – shootouts, horseback chases, etc.

Ability Cards Can Be Swapped Out In-Game

The abilities you can activate can easily be swapped with each other, provided you have already unlocked or purchased them.

Ability Cards Need To Be Unlocked Or Bought

Ability Cards, save for the free ones you initially get, are purchaseable or unlockable in your loadout menu. This is the only way you can activate & equip them.

Activated The Same Way As RDR2

Though the effects are quite different, you can activate your Dead Eye the same way that you can normally use it in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Dead Eye Tips For Online Mode

Equip Specific Ability Cards For Certain Missions

It’s best to always check what kind of mission you’re going into and changing your Ability Card loadout to match it. This will help you quickly accomplish your mission in an easy manner.

Use Dead Eye During Important Moments

It’s best to use Dead Eye when you need it – during shootouts or battling enemy players. This saves your gauge for more important moments in your mission.

Level Up Dead Eye Gauge & Ability Cards

Your abilities will get stronger the more you rank them up and your Dead Eye mode will last longer if you keep leveling it up. It’s best to rank both your Dead Eye gauge and your Ability Cards to make the most of them.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Side Missions Keep Disappearing

Side missions are a major part of an open world video game. Since they give the players something to do between the main story and even after completing it, depending on their pacing. However, recent leaks in gameplay that have started surfacing reveal what users are often mistaking for a bug, a bug where side mission icons disappear.

Why do the mission icons keep disappearing on the open world map of Red Dead Redemption 2? It’s not a bug for those that have reached that assumption. In fact, it’s an intentional aspect of the game world’s lively design that the developers have brought to the table.

Here are a few factors that can be used to explain or even double check why a side mission isn’t appearing on your map despite doing so a minute ago:

The time of day: The time of day is a determining factor on the appearance of a side mission.

Since sometimes the mission requires a specific time slot to be completed in, if a mission vanishes, try passing the time until the next phase of day/night cycle. This can be done either by exploring the wilderness, or time skipping, which is done either by setting up camp or by seeking lodgings.

Having a wanted level: It wouldn’t be an open world Rockstar game without the dreaded stars in the corner of your screen when you do something you’d get your ass beat for in the real world.

In this case, side missions and at times even story missions cannot be accessed when Arthur has a wanted level. The player must evade the law first before refocusing on the task at hand

The territory of the mission vicinity: Since you’re part of an outlaw gang, obviously, you’ll have rival gangs and these gangs would definitely not appreciate you just barging into their territory in your fancy cowboy boots.

This can cause side missions to hide unless you strike an agreement with these rival gangs. That, or maybe a certain alternate way to liberate the locale.

Either way, these should explain side missions disappearing in Red Dead Redemption 2 and get you outlaws back on the saddle and on with your side missions, which serve as a delicious helping of mashed potatoes to go with your juicy steak of an experience that is the main, open world game of Red Dead Redemption 2.

All That Glitters

South of your camp in Chapter 2 is Flatneck Station and you will want to head west of there, keeping to the northern cliff’s edge, until you finally spot the familiar white circle that indicates a Stranger Mission. Approach the man, who is only known as Treasure Hunter at first, will properly introduce himself as the self-proclaimed renowned explorer, Maximo Cristobal Valdespino. Seeing as he’s planning on leaving shortly, he offers to sell you the treasure map he has for the low price of $10. Should you decline this offer, then he cuts the price in half, so go ahead and buy the map either way.

Note: If, for some reason, you scare Maximo or kill him, you are able to purchase his map from any Fence in the game’s world.

You can look at the map from your satchel, but unless you know the layout of the land very well, it’s going to be quite difficult to pinpoint the clue of the treasure on your own. Open your world map and look north and a little west of Horseshoe Overlook for Caliban’s Seat. Place a custom waypoint in the middle of the name for now and make your way there. Approach the name on the map from the eastern side, where you should be able to find a path that leads atop the plateau here (east of the “T” in Seat).

This is where things can be a little confusing, as the thing you’re looking for is on a thin ledge. For now, just follow the path up to the top of the plateau and keep going in that direction until you spy a worn tent to your right. Just before that tent is a trail leading down to a ledge. Run along this ledge, as you want to clear a small gap in it, leading to a small wall ahead of you. Climb up this small wall, then drop down to a second ledge on the other side. Follow this ledge towards the end until you get a button prompt to search. Do that to get the second treasure map.

Jack Hall Gang Map 2

The second map will lead you to a place called Cotorra Springs, quite a bit north of Valentine, in the state of Ambarino. You might not have this area uncovered quite yet on your map, but if you’ve done the first part of The Noblest of Men, and a Woman already, you should see Barrow Lagoon on your map to the northwest of Valentine. If you follow Dakota River, to the west of Valentine, to the north, you should uncover a spot called Window Rock on your map. Cotorra Springs will be northeast of that locale.

Cotorra Springs is a fairly open area, with geysers and a bunch of cairns placed around it. While the geysers might make for a nice sightseeing attraction, the cairns are what you’re looking for right now. Most of them start out big at the bottom and have small rocks at the top. The one you need has a larger rock at its top, so keep looking for it until you find it (just to the right of the second “O” in Cotorra). Once you do, approach that cairn and you’ll receive another prompt to search, netting you another map.

Jack Hall Gang Map 3

This is the final map and you will be taken to the Grizzlies East region, to the east of Cotorra Springs. In particular, you’re looking for a lake called O’Creagh’s Run, which is fairly large and to the right of the “East” of Grizzlies East. In the middle of this large lake is a small island, which will be your target, but swimming will constantly use your stamina, so you’ll need to be careful. There is a little peninsula of sorts on the western shore of the lake, which will make getting to the island a lot easier and not start dipping into your stamina core.

Once you make land on the small island, look for the small patch of greenery on the southern end. It’s not in the large bush, but more in the grassy area. Keep moving around until you get that lovely button prompt to search a rock. Go ahead and do that to finally get your reward, which is two Gold Bars. These are worth $500 each, so that’s some nice money. Remember that gold bars need to be sold to a Fence, as regular stores will not take them.

Something New

10 Weirdest Side Missions In Red Dead Redemption 2

A roundup of the funniest, creepiest, and most interesting side missions you can play in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2.

The massively open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 has a lot to offer – from beautiful landscapes to all-out shootouts. The game comes to life as you travel from town to town, with plentiful wildlife and a whole host of small missions that spawn along your journey from A to B.

With so much to do, it can be hard to decide where to go next. Do you continue the rip-roaring campaign? Do you help a criminal stuck in the middle of nowhere? Do you waste your money and get flat out drunk? Lucky for you, we at The Gamer have compiled a list of the most unique side missions in Red Dead Redemption 2.

10. Famous Gunslingers

One of the first towns you come across in Red Dead Redemption 2 is Valentine, a small town in close proximity to the base camp. In this town, you’ll find a typical Saloon where you can drink away your woes. However, there is also a small bar where you can pick up a fun little side mission.

On entering the bar, you will see a drunkard who has definitely seen better days and a man writing a book. This man will give you photographs of the most famous gunslingers and send you on a quest to find and challenge them.

Prove you’re the best gunslinger in not only town, but the world.

9. Killer Clue

Whilst riding around the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 you’ll take in the stunning environment and seemingly endless scenery. However, every now and then you can make some interesting, sometimes grotesque discoveries.

The side mission Killer Clue follows a gory trail of murder as you track down a serial killer that likes to show off their victims. Are you ready to turn in your cowboy hat for a detective one? Track down the perpetrator of these grisly murders to complete this quest.

8. Aberdeen Pig Farm

Sometimes you’ll stroll onto someone’s property; it’s an honest mistake in the vast plains of Red Dead Redemption 2 which happens quite frequently. Sometimes you’ll be threatened, which is a fair enough response for a stranger wandering onto someone’s land. However, some people will invite you into their home out of the kindness of their hearts… or so we think.

In this un-official side mission, when you wander onto Aberdeen Pig Farm you’ll be invited into the house by a lovely couple. This couple will proceed to get you drunk, if you choose to drink, and rob you whilst you’re unconscious. You’ll then have to retrieve your cash with or without force.

7. Arcadia For Amateurs

Probably one of the biggest side missions in Red Dead Redemption 2, Arcadia for Amateurs, follows a photographer named Albert Mason who (for some reason or another) always has bad luck. There are several parts to this side mission which you will encounter as you progress.

These side missions usually take the form of aiding Albert Mason – from stolen bags to creating the best photo-ops. For a light-hearted and character heavy side mission, this one proves there is a lot of character progression even outside the main story.

6. A Bright Bouncing Boy – First Meeting

A Bright Bouncing Boy is a multi-faceted side mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. In this side mission, you meet with Marko Dragic, a professor conducting bizarre experiments. The reason this side quest has two entries is due to the massively different and intriguing tasks in each of the two meetings.

When you first meet Marko Dragic, you will be asked to control a small remote submarine. The goal is to avoid mines and sink ship models in a pond, before they reach the other side. I bet you never expected to be controlling a submarine in Red Dead Redemption 2, even if it is just a small, remote-controlled one. Remember to keep away from the mines and torpedo explosions you set off destroying the model ships!

5. A Bright Bouncing Boy – Second Meeting

Now, on the second meeting with Marko Dragic, you have to complete an entirely different set of tasks in order to complete this part of the side mission.

Marko Dargic will ask you to place lightning conductors in specific locations in a given area. These will light up once you get to the right part of the highlighted area. Once all three are placed and you have returned to Marko Dragic, he will send you up a tower to flip some switches in a specific order. Once you have completed these tasks you get to see the fruits of your labor, which has a very mad scientist twist.

4. A Test of Faith

Not far from base camp in Chapter 2, you’ll run into a woman named Deborah MacGuiness – a shunned paleontologist whose theories have been rejected by the leading universities. MacGuiness explains to Arthur her ideas and career gathering dinosaur bones.

After this encounter, you are given the objective of collecting 30 dinosaur bones for MacGuiness to aid her in her research and career – and to complete this little side mission.

3. He’s British, Of Course

This side mission brings more exotic wildlife into the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Minding your own business doing cowboy things in Chapter 3, you’ll run into a crashed circus caravan. On discovering this caravan, you will meet a peculiar fellow, Margaret.

Margaret will ask you to track three escaped animals from their circus. These three animals are a zebra, tiger, and lion. Each of these animals has their own separate parts within this side mission, extending the mission out across the map and ending with a hefty reward.

2. The Artist’s Way

Just because Arthur is a rough-and-tumble cowboy does not mean he doesn’t know good art when he sees it. In this side mission, Arthur meets a French man by the name of Charles Chatenay, who he shares a conversational drink with.

This side mission is a simple, pleasant side mission where you get to appreciate your new-found friend’s art and help him through the rougher parts of living in American towns.

1. Oh, Brother

A Rockstar game isn’t complete without ridiculous characters and side missions peppered throughout the map. In Red Dead Redemption 2 we get plenty of opportunities to meet the game world’s oddballs.

In the side mission (Oh, Brother), you will have to help two twin brothers win over a woman, named Helen, that they are both fighting over. Over a series of mini-missions, you will have to carry out obscene games and tasks in order to help both twins prove their toughness. Ultimately, you will come to the end of a small tale about two brothers fighting over a woman, and whilst bizarre it’s well worth finishing.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Pouring Forth Oil – IV Walkthrough

Pouring Forth Oil – IV is the 19th main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Pouring Forth Oil – IV Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

Pouring Forth Oil – IV is unlocked when you complete Pouring Forth Oil – II.

Quest Giver: John Marston
Chapter: 2
Region: Lemoyne

  • Kill all the train guards before Sean fires a shot
  • Clear the baggage car of loot
  • Escape the Law within 1 minute 30 seconds
  • Get 10 kills in Dead Eye
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

Starting Location: Dewberry Creek, Lemoyne

Meet at Dewberry Creek

Return to Dewberry Creek and you’ll find Sean waiting around, wanting to be brought on the heist. This is a terrible idea. Somehow everyone thinks this, however he manages to come along anyhow. John and Charles show up at nightfall, and you set off for the ambush location.

Drive the oil wagon to the ambush point. Arthur will climb on top of the wagon, while the others wait in hiding.

Ambush the Train

Once the train stops, jump down and move quickly to the passenger car where Marston is already relieving the passengers of their valuables.

Occasionally there will be a passenger who gets brave, or refuses to hand over their money. Focus on them and beat the passenger to convince them to cooperate.

Follow John closely as he moves to the next car, beating anyone who needs it. When you get to the third passenger car, move past Marston and run down the aisle until you reach Sean.

Sean moves into the baggage car, and immediately gets pistol-whipped by a train guard. Use Dead Eye to kill him quickly without hitting Sean.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Kill all the train guards before Sean fires a shot
  • GOLD MEDAL: Get 10 kills in Dead Eye
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete the mission without taking any health items

There will be a second guard that appears on the roof above him. Quickly kill him with Dead Eye as well.

There will also be a third and fourth train guard who rush into the baggage car, which you should again finish off with Dead Eye.

Sean may have recovered by now, but hopefully you’ve gotten all four before he has, fulfilling the gold medal requirement.

Rob the Baggage

You now have to quickly steal everything in the baggage car

  • Everything in the Cabinet behind the door to the left
  • Fine Brandy on the shelf to the right
  • Everything in the green Cabinet to the left below the mail slots
  • Everything in the raised cabinet to the right above the sorting bags
  • Everything in the chest on the right near the back door

If you’ve moved quickly killing the train guards and robbing the passengers, you can completely loot the baggage car before the reinforcements arrive. A cinematic will play during which you will move out onto the flatbed car and get into cover, preparing for a fight. There will be a lot of them, to make up the remaining six Dead Eye kills you need. Be sure to stay in cover too, so that you do not take Health damage since you can’t use healing items.

When you’ve killed all of the first wave, a second wave of mounted lawmen will ride in from the northeast. Change cover to the other side, and continue to kill using Dead Eye.

When the last enemy has fallen, John will call for everyone to run. Call your horse over, and run like the wind.

Escape the Law

Looking at your mini-map, you can see what direction the reinforcements will be coming from. You have to evade the lawmen long enough to get out of the red search area on your map.

The easiest way to do this is to just ride northwest along the railroad tracks until you’re clear.

Watch the ending cinematic, and the mission is over.

This finishes Pouring Forth Oil – IV main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest We Loved Once and True – III starts.

Next Up: We Loved Once and True – III

The dead eye meter is barely enough to kill 10 enemies, and you don’t have any supplies to refill it. My suggestion is, get enough chewing tobaccos, make a manual save BEFORE the mission, and get the gold medal in your “first” try.

Yeah but if youre doing replay, u cant save before, I agree its not enough..

Thank you for this mission walkthrough.
one of the pictures (above “Escape the Law” is Irrelevant to this mission). Please fix it.

Yeah I’m not sure how this got in there (it was from catching a fish if anybody wonders). Thanks for pointing that out, it’s fixed now.

Oh wow. Whatever would we all have done without that picture being changed… dammmmmn [/bad language removed by mod]

does anyone have any suggestions how to complete mission with very little dead eye on replay? i dont think its possible and there are no supplies

Just got the gold medal after replaying.
Use deadeye on the first 4 guards (you’ll find you have next to none left after this).
Quickly get all the items in the baggage cabin.
As soon as you’re in control after the cut scene has ended drink the brandy (as it only gives you stamina and deadeye).
Get your other headshots. Now what i did because i ran out of deadeye again was (after each headshot you’ll get a very tiny amount of deadeye back) line up the headshot, quickly activated deadeye and shot as soon as I could whilst it was activated.
Hope this helps.

Pouring Forth Oil

Gold Medal Checklist (Part II):

  • Deliver the wagon to the drop off within 1 minute 45 seconds

Finding the Wagon (Part II)

This is a two part mission with two different Gold Medal requirements. Speak to John in camp to begin the mission, he’s planned to rob the train you learnt of back in an earlier mission and wants you to join him for it. As John goes to fetch supplies from Valentine, it’s up to Arthur to track down the oil wagon and John suggests a few places. For the sake of the Gold Medal, you’ll want to make your way to Cornwall Factory Kerosene & Tar due to it’s proximity to the drop off point.

Once you reach the factory (by following the marker on your map) you’ll see guards outside of it. Ignore the first two entrances and head around to the north side where you’ll see a large stretch of fencing without any guards. Wait for a nearby guard to walk towards the northern entrance and then jump over to hijack the wagon. Quickly follow the trail north and gallop as fast as possible to the drop off point.

The Robbery (Part IV)

Gold Medal Checklist (Part IV):

  • Kill all train guards before Sean fires a shot
  • Clear the baggage car of loot
  • Escape the Law within 1 minute 30 seconds
  • Get 10 kills in Dead Eye
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

Return to the camp and speak to John once again to have him set off and prepare for the robbery. You’ll need to wait at least one in game hour (or take a rest at your tent) until the next part becomes available, head back to the drop off point to begin the mission. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of Snake Oil or Chewing Tobacco before beginning this mission, the Gold Medal requires frequent use of Dead Eye.

Once you’re on the wagon with the other gang members, follow the marker to the railway tracks to begin the robbery. Board the luggage cart with John and head down the aisle selecting the passengers with the [L2]/[LT] button to rob everyone that’s possible. At times you’ll have to assist John by beating a stubborn passenger before continuing your own robbery. After looting two carts with John, you’ll leave him to find Sean in the baggage cart.

Note: You’ll unlock a new feature of Dead Eye at this point that will allow you to manually tag enemies with the [R1]/[RB] button.

As Sean opens the door, a guard assaults him, quickly make use of Dead Eye and take him out before using Dead Eye to take another on the top of the cart. As you head down this next cart, use Dead Eye one more time to take out two more guards, you’ll have to do this before Sean fires a single bullet for the Gold Medal. Loot the four points of interest after killing the guards and then head back outside the cart.

You’ll be attacked by two waves of Lawman from both sides of the train, make frequent use of Dead Eye here to target as many of them as possible, you’ll need at least 10 kills in Dead Eye for the Gold Medal. Stay in cover and use a Rifle or Repeater for the increased range, once the final Lawman falls, jump off the train and mount your horse. Quickly gallop north from your current location, down the tracks and over the hill to leave the marked red area on the map and escape the law to complete the mission.

Pouring Forth Oil – IV

They have the wagon and the weapons so it’s time to move on the train full of wealthy people. The plan is simple and the take should be big. They’ll stop it in the middle of nowhere to avoid the law.

Rewards: Loot, Upgraded Dead Eye

Sulky, Angry, & Scarface

Arthur finds Sean attempting to shoot some bottles at the destroyed house. They banter a bit and Arthur ends it by quick-drawing on a bottle. Sean begs to come with them on the train robbery. He antagonizes Arthur some more. Depending what time you start this mission, they may need to get some sleep before the train is due at night. Arthur will doze off next to the wagon with Sean nearby.

John and Charles arrive. John told Sean he wasn’t coming but Sean disagrees since Arthur said he could – even though he didn’t. The train is supposed to be coming tonight so they need to head out. All four jump on the wagon with Arthur at the reins. Drive to the railroad crossing . Each of the men’s horses will follow. John says they shouldn’t have too many guns to deal with on the train. Sean pokes fun at him and continues to annoy the group. They eventually shut him up but he asks about the train robbery at hand.

The plan now is to block the tracks with the oil wagon. Charles will deal with the engineer and John will rob the passengers. Sean will go to the baggage car. Arthur will keep an eye out and help where needed. John says the law shouldn’t be quick to respond way out here. When you get to the crossing park the wagon on the tracks . All four dismount the wagon and the horses pulling it are released. Arthur tells the others to hide while he stops the train. He climbs on top of the wagon as the train approaches and covers his face.

Tickets, please

The train comes to a halt with barely any room to spare. The engineer inquires to the barricade but Charles takes him down. Get off the wagon and board the passenger car behind the locomotive. Upon entering John will come from the opposite end. Arthur knocks out a passenger as John begins taking items from the rest. Beat anyone that puts up a fight. You can rob them for extra loot if you want.

In the next coach Sean is there but Arthur tells him to go to the baggage car. Continue helping John gather loot. At the third coach John tells Arthur he’s got it and to go to Sean. Walking out to a flatcar, Sean hasn’t even got to it yet. As he opens the door a guard rushes him. Arthur enters Dead Eye and you are told you can now manually paint targets.

Shoot the guard before he shoots Sean. Another appears on top of the baggage car so take him down. Two more come out from cover at the far end. Kill them too. Sean will help when he recovers. When the coast is clear rob the baggage by looting the cabinets and chest. A bottle of fine brandy is also on a shelf. Clean house quickly or go out to Sean when you’re done.

Counting cops

Sean sees two lawmen on horses riding up with lanterns. Two vs four? They can fight them off. As Arthur gives them a chance to run two more mounted lawmen arrive. Whoops. No turning back now. Take down the lawmen . Three more will come through the trees. When most of them are dead five more lawmen come from the opposite side. Clear them out.

When they are all dead it’s time to go. Mount your horse and escape the law . Seven of them appear behind you no matter what direction you initially take. If you manage to take them down another wave of nine comes next.

Out of harm’s way the gang stops and Arthur divides the loot. The money is good but they’ll need a bigger score to get out of this place. John will work something in Valentine. The group gets suspicious as to how the law showed up so fast. They are locals not federal agents. A reminder to everyone not to get followed. They all split up.
