Battle for Azeroth Preview: Island Expeditions

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth introduces a variety of new adventures for players to undertake, including a feature we’re calling Island Expeditions. Each island is comprised of its own biome supporting multiple ecologies, themes, and a variety of dynamic elements designed to provide fresh and unexpected experiences every time you embark.

Why We Fight

Azerite is seeping up from the wound that Sargeras’ blade dealt to Azeroth, and an incredible new resource is waiting to be claimed by the Horde, the Alliance, and anyone else seeking power. When you set out on an Island Expedition, you’ll compete for this resource to empower your Heart of Azeroth and to aid your faction in the race to control as much of the world’s Azerite as possible.

Your Mission

You’ll queue for Normal, Heroic, Mythic, or PvP difficulties either alone or with a group by using an Expedition table in Zuldazar Harbor (Horde) or Boralus Harbor (Alliance). Island Expeditions are three-player encounters, and while you can play as any mix of roles, you’ll want to make sure you’re coordinating with the rest of your group to overcome the opposing faction and acquire 6,000 Azerite before they do.

Upon landing on the Island, you’ll disembark from your ship and make your way onto land in search of as much Azerite as you can get your hands on. There are many ways to acquire it, whether it’s by killing monsters, finding treasure chests, defeating the opposing faction’s team, or mining the nodes that will appear around the island.

The Opponents

You won’t be alone on the island, as much as you might hope to be. There are others who want to get their hands on the Azerite, and queuing for Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulty will pit you against a rival team of three Horde or Alliance “Advanced NPCs.” These clever rivals will move around and take advantage of the island just like other players would, and each group of opponents has different tactical personalities, from the more aggressive to the more defensive, and will all seeking to claim 6,000 Azerite before you can and take home victory. You never know which team of opponents you’ll face, so be prepared to use all your character’s abilities to overcome them.

For those who choose PvP difficulty, you’ll be pitted against players of the opposing faction to see which team will triumph.

The Landscape

There’s plenty to explore on this uncharted land, and each island features lots of dynamically generated elements that provide a variety of challenges to overcome.

It’s more than just the Horde and the Alliance interested in the Azerite—you’ll also confront a wide range of different enemies seeking to claim it for their own. As you explore the island, you’ll engage in smaller encounters such as a village of quilboar, water elementals guarding treasure chests full of Azerite, or rare and elite monsters. You’ll also encounter random events from time to time as you explore the island.

To overcome some of these encounters, you’ll need to keep an eye out for beneficial shrines, food, or objects that can aid you. With a bit of tactics and coordination, you’re bound to find some great opportunities to add more Azerite to your count and claim victory.

With extensive combinations of enemies, power-ups, spawn locations, and more, you’ll never know what you’ll come across in your next Island Expedition.

Winning isn’t everything, but the more Azerite you collect, the more Artifact Power you’ll gain to empower your Heart of Azeroth when the expedition concludes. We’re still working out what other rewards Island Expedition might yield, so keep an eye on our official channels for more information.

How to Get to Azuremyst Isle in World of Warcraft (WoW)

Azuremyst Isle is an area in World of Warcraft that is home to the Draenei. An Alliance race that has built their city known as The Exodar around their crashed ship. Azuremyst Isle was attacked by the Burning Legion in the previous World of Warcraft expansion Legion and players were sent their to help defend it from this impeding evil. It later became the area where players would start their mission to invade Argus and put an end to the Burning Legion once and for all. This island is home to many quests for beginning players as well as high level players who have taken up arms against invading enemies. What started out as the simple home to the Draenei has evolved into something much more since the previous expansion. With the newest expansion WoW: Battle For Azeroth, Azuremyst Isle has calmed down quite a bit.

Getting to Azuremyst Isle is extremely easy if you are an alliance player, because it is your starting zone when playing as the Draenei. Once you leave to go on your bigger adventure you can simply take a portal back there from Stormwind at any time. Once you’ve gained the ability to fly, you can also simply simply just fly to Azuremyst whenever you feel like it. For Horde players they will have a little more trouble getting to Azuremyst Isle. Horde players will have to go to the NPC Zidormi in the Darkshore and speak with him. He will take you back in time and allow you to access the teleporter that takes you to the Exodar. This is important because some Horde characters still have quests to complete on Azuremyst Isle for their respective classes. These quests can grant mounts and other collectibles.

Take a sneak peek at World of Warcraft’s new island expedition locations

Sail to them on December 11.

A pair of new islands will hit World of Warcraft’s island expeditions next month, along with the meaty Tides of Vengeance update. Unfortunately, Havenswood and Jorundall both look like pretty gloomy places, so don’t expect any beach fun. Joining them are changes to what you’ll be doing in these expeditions, which fuel the war between the Alliance and Horde.

Havenswood looks like your typical Kul Tiran port from the first screenshot, while Jorundall looks like the sort of place you wouldn’t want to linger, what with the imposing tomb and spooky trees. Nowhere nice has trees that look that ominous. You won’t be there for sightseeing, anyway.

Islands old and new will feature two additional events revolving around the collection of azerite, and expect to do a bit of fighting while you try to fill your pockets.

“Since the launch of Battle for Azeroth, we’ve continued to iterate on Island Expeditions. In Tides of Vengeance, we’ve tried to shake things up with the addition of Azerite Ruptures and Extractors, add a bit more variety to what you can expect on any given island,” Blizzard says. “You may encounter one of these in place of an invasion, and even invasions will have more variety—for example, you may face Southsea Pirates and Earth Elementals on an upcoming island visit.”

When you encounter a rupture, you’ll need to deploy a collection device, in turn summoning enemies in several waves. The event culminates in a battle with a rare or rare elite enemy. You’ll be able to get more azerite than usual by defeating them, too. When you do this, every player will be notified, so you might get some help, but you’re just as likely to be attacked by the opposing faction.

Extractors can be plonked down on azerite extractor locations, not surprisingly, and net you azerite over time. Blizzard warns, however, that it can be captured by the enemy team, while also pulling NPCs hanging around the area. Just like the rupture device, everyone will be told where the extractor is the moment you deploy it.

Tides of Vengeance promises to be a significant update, introducing a new raid, a warfront in Dark Shore, the Kul Tiran and Zandalari Trolls allied races, some big changes to the azerite armour system and a whole bunch more. The expansion is due out on December 11.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is constantly growing, and that trend continues with the game’s latest expansion Battle For Azeroth. With new quests taking you to all ends of Azeroth and new loot to find, players will be busy from start to finish with new sights to see. Of course getting all over Azeroth may take a little navigational help. After all, it’s a big world out there. Don’t worry because we are here to help with all of your trip planning needs. Need help trying to get to the Outlands from Orgrimmar? Look no further.

Getting to the Outlands is simple from Orgrimmar. All you have to do is head to the Cleft of Shadow, which is where the Rogue, Mage, and Warlock trainers hang out in Orgrimmar. Down there will be a few portals, the portal on the right will take you to Hellfire Peninsula which is the first zone in the Outlands. After going through that portal you are free to explore the Outlands to your heart’s content. Of course, if you want to be able to fly through each zone you’ll have to purchase a flight masters license in the Outlands.

World of Warcraft Battle For Azeroth includes two completely new area to explore, Kul Tiras and Zandalar. With all new dungeons, raids, and gear to earn its time to fight for your side, whichever one that may be. Team up with up to 6 different Allied races for even more character customization options. Explore the pirate island of Kul Tiras, or the Blood Troll infested Zandalar.

How to Follow the Story ofВ ‘World of Warcraft: Legion’

It’s all about balancing priorities.

Legion, the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, brings a new leveling system with it that changes the way you progress through zones. Zones now scale directly to your character level, which means that you’ll always be obtaining the optimal amount of experience regardless of which zone you venture through. While it’s certainly a welcome improvement, the new mechanic can cause you to miss some key moments in Legion’s narrative. Following an optimal path is important if you want to get the most out of the story.

As usual, the new expansion features several different questlines: the main one in the expansion, the class campaign quests, and the individual zone quests. It’s worth noting that profession quests are also present via your respective trainers in Dalaran, although they aren’t key to understanding the expansion’s narrative.

So, if you’re looking to experience all of the storytelling Blizzard baked into Legion, you’ll want to keep up with the following during your leveling.

Legion’s Main Quest

When you first get started with the expansion, you’ll be prompted to join Khadgar in Dalaran to witness the teleportation of the city to the Broken Isles, which in turn starts up the main set of quests for the entire expansion. These quests are woven into both the class campaign quests and individual zone quests, too, which make them relatively easy to follow.

The key with these is to not ignore them in favor of completing your class campaign quests or individual zone quests, because the main quest often branches into both throughout Legion. Main quests are typically given to you by Archmage Khadgar who seeks your help to thwart the advances of the Burning Legion during your journey to level 110. Whenever one of these quests presents itself, you’ll want to focus your efforts on it immediately. They grant a decent amount of experience for your character, and, more importantly, they advance the expansion’s story each time.

If you ignore them, youll quickly find yourself backtracking through zones you’ve already completed to catch up. Plus, you might find characters who have passed away or already progressed to a future event mentioned where it doesn’t make sense. Naturally, you can opt to grind through the entire main quest once you’ve hit the level cap — some quests unlock at max level — but many of the early quests won’t have the same impact they would if you completed them early on.

Class Campaign Quests

Much like the main story quests in Legion, class campaign quests are given to you as you progress through the expansion. The first of these is presented when you appear in Dalaran at the beginning and prompts you to pick an Artifact Weapon to pursue. Once you’ve completed your initial Artifact Weapon quest and unlocked your Class Hall, you’ll then be introduced to your class campaign line of quests.

Each of these involves unifying your class order to defeat the Burning Legion. You’ll also be introduced to legendary individuals from Warcraft lore who share your class, each of whom work under your leadership once you’ve recruited them to the cause. These characters will also appear during key points within the main quest too, which makes them important additions to the narrative you might otherwise miss.

Many of the benefits offered by your Class Hall, such as Artifact Weapon research (which speeds up the rate you increase its power) and specific characters, are only unlockable through Class Hall missions, which operate like Garrison missions from Warlords of Draenor.

At first, these don’t take too long to complete, but the further you get, the longer they take. Since these missions are required to progress through your entire class campaign line of quests, you’ll want to unlock and take care of them as soon as possible during your leveling experience. Like main missions, these can be completed once you’ve reached max level, but because they are intertwined with the main story, you’ll want to complete them as you level up.

Individual Zone Quests

Once you’ve completed the introduction to Legion’s main story and done the first step in your class campaign, you’ll be able to pick a location on the Broken Isles to start questing. Highmountain, Stormheim, Val’Sharah, and Azsuna will all scale to your character level regardless of when you start and feature a self-contained story that connects back to Legion’s main quest.

Each zone you complete in Legion revolves around locating and retrieving the Pillar of Creation hidden within. In order to do that, however, you’ll have to work with the locals to defeat the Burning Legion invaders. Every zone features a set of quest chapters you must complete which culminate in a dungeon quest to retrieve the Pillar of Creation from that specific zone (so don’t worry about completing dungeons until they pop up naturally).

What’s great about these new zones is how connected they feel to the greater Warcraft universe. Because of this connection, I recommend diving into either Highmountain or Val’Sharah as your first zone, both of which connect to previous World of Warcraft expansions and involve many legendary figures from the franchise.

No matter where you end up starting, you’ll only be able to complete three of the zones in Legion before you reach the 110 level cap due to the new level scaling mechanic. Once you do, you’ll unlock Suramar — the fifth zone included in Legion. While Suramar is certainly interesting in its own right and filled with rewards, you’ll want to go ahead and finish up the other zones before diving in. Why? Each one connects back to the main story via their respective Pillar of Creation, which then sends you directly into the heart of Suramar for the fifth and final one. But I won’t spoil that experience for you!

The suggested order to expand your garrison WoW: Warlords of Draenor Guide

First of all, it should be noted that it is the suggested way, in which to put up the individual buildings in your garrison. Everyone can, or even should learn about the functions of the individual buildings and pick the most useful ones, by themselves. The purpose of this section is only to suggest certain actions.

First of all you should focus on upgrading your town hall to tier three, as soon as possible. Therefore, you should save up on your resources, so that you have 2000 resources for upgrading the town hall, after you reach level 100.

Your first small building

The first building that you erect should be related to your profession. If, however, you know already that you will not be performing the profession that often, I recommend that you build the Enchanter’s Study. Thanks to this building, you will be able to dump the items that you do not need and sell the resources that you obtain this way. This will provide you with quite an amount of gold and, at the beginning of the game, you will be receiving quite a few items.

Your first big building

There is only one good choice in this case – Barracks. At this stage, there is not much point in building any other building. The barracks provide you with an option to recruit followers and to dispatch them on missions. This will provide you with little gold, but it makes your garrison accept new followers and start resembling an actual city.

Your second small building

The next small building may be another structure related to your profession but, it is a good idea to wait until you reach level 96 and only then, build the Salvage Yard, thanks to which you will be able to obtain better gear.

Your first medium-sized building

Your first medium-sized building should be the Lumber Mill, thanks to which you can chop down trees, which can then be turned into building resources. There is nothing that you would need more, at the beginning, than the resources for the expansion of your fortress.

After you upgrade the town hall to tier three, you gain additional building lands. Your choice of buildings should reflect, in the first place, your preferences. If you want to focus on your followers, you can build the Inn/tavern and the Dwarven Bunker. If you want to obtain additional mounts, invest in the stables. If you want to focus on the PvP, you should consider building an arena and a workshop.

You may face a situation, in which you want to raze a building down to the ground. Unfortunately, this is not an option but, you can replace the building in question, with another building. Simply, drag another building into the place of the one that you do not need anymore.

Class Order Halls are the place to be in World of Warcraft: Legion. Each hall is unique to the class it represents and is not only a place where players will spend much of their time but also a driving force in the story line in this new expansion. One of major features of Class Order Halls are the Missions found there. Much like Garrisons, players can send Followers out on various Missions to earn rewards. While still not finished here is what we have learned so far about Class Order Hall Missions:

Class Order Hall Followers/Champions

In Legion we will still have a few individuals hell-bent on following us around. Known as Champions, these individuals have dedicated themselves to us and our cause. Typically, most classes will meet and obtain their first Champion by the time they have managed to earn their Artifact Weapon. This all takes place pretty early in the Legion experience.

However, do not think for a second that these Champions are exactly like those lackluster Follower counterparts we met in the Warlords of Draenor Garrison. Champions in Legion are important and central to the storyline. You get to know them, sometimes quite personally, and they are never just another face in the crowd. The only real similarity to Garrison Followers is that you can send them out on Missions found inside your Class Order Hall.

Class Order Hall Mission Interface

Players can access their Class Order Hall Missions from inside their Class Order Hall. Usually located in a central location, each class will easily be able to locate the Scouting Map that will allow them to access the Class Order Hall Mission Interface. Right click to activate.

Upon activation the Scouting Map will reveal a map of the Broken Isles with large and small yellow question marks scattered throughout the map. Large question marks denote quests for the player, while smaller question marks are Missions that your Followers can be sent on.

As you can see from the image above, there appears to be nothing new about the Class Order Hall Mission interface. Basically, it is the Garrison Mission pane, at least for the time being. While the interface may change slightly as development progresses it makes sense to stick with a familiar model. While there were many things wrong with the Garrison in Warlords, the overall interface was not one of them.

Class Order Hall Missions

To start a mission, you must choose one of the quests on the map. Instead of one large mission, you are typically given smaller pieces of one mission. Completing these pieces will allow you to complete the larger mission over time.

The Class Order Hall Mission system has been compared to a combination of the Garrison Follower system and the bounty system from Diablo III. Currently, Missions are rather unavailable on the Alpha with too few Followers and most Missions currently being a high level unobtainable for the Followers we do have at the current moment. Please check back for more information as the World of Warcraft: Legion Alpha continues and more Missions become available.

Class Order Hall Mission Rewards

Little is currently known about what kind of rewards Class Order Hall Missions will offer up. As mentioned above, while the interface is active; the Missions are currently not able to be completed due to a number of factors. If Class Order Halls are anything close to Garrison Missions, we can expect items such as Gold, Pets, Experience, Toys, and even items.

With that being said, this is only speculation. While the interfaces are similar, Class Order Hall Missions already feel different than those found in your Garrison. What the rewards will be will only be revealed as the Alpha progresses into a more finished product.

While we can only guess at the rewards one thing that seems certain is that they won’t automatically be given to you. Once a Mission is completed, the player will need to head out into the world to collect their reward. While many players like this idea, others feel that this may block content for those who choose not to be diligent or participate in Class Order Hall Missions. For now, it is too soon to make a call either way.

Please note that all the information above is taken from the World of Warcraft: Legion Alpha test. In this phase of testing things often change. This information may very well become outdated or change totally before the finished product is released. Keep checking back as Legion evolves.

From the MMORPG World of Warcraft, Stormwind City!

Having taken over 3 months of an average 4.5 hours a day, I can finally unveil this!
Nearly every aspect of the city from the game is presented as well as each district.
Every district is constructed, Trade, Dwarven, Old Town, Mage Quarter, Cathedral Square, and the Keep.
Note: I did not complete the Harbor at the moment, however I may update it later to include one.

Included in this is the MCschematic for the entire city as well as a small amount of additional land.

If anyone wishes to use this, they are free to. I only ask that you do not take credit for creating it.

Board Overview

All you need to know about Hearthstone’s game interface can literally be summed up with just one screenshot. Don’t believe us? Well, check it out for yourself below.

You draw a card from your deck and add it to your hand each turn. Cards with a glowing green border can be played, while cards without it either require more mana or some other condition to be met.

Hey, look at you, being all heroic-like! At the bottom right of your portrait is your current health; it diminishes as you take damage from minions and spells, and refills from healing spells. If it drops to zero, you lose.

Every hero has a unique power they can use once each turn. Warriors for example can add armor to their health, Shamans can summon totems, and Rogues can pull daggers seemingly out of nowhere. Heh, Rogues. Nothing in their pockets but knives and lint.

Each card you play costs a certain amount of mana. Your mana replenishes at the beginning of your turn, and each turn your mana crystals increase by one up to a final maximum of 10.

If you summoned a weapon for your hero, it’ll show up here. Your weapon’s durability is reduced by one each time you strike, so you only get a limited number of swings with each. Make ’em count!

This is one of your minions. Use minions to attack your opponent or his minions. Many minions have special abilities that give them a unique strategic purpose.

Defeat your opponent to win the game. Clobber him with minions and spells until you bring this hero down to zero!

At the beginning of each turn, you draw one card from your deck and add it to your hand. Every deck contains 30 cards; no more, no less.
